This is a beautiful quiet campground on the shore of Lake Michigan. The grounds are well maintained.

There is no running water bathrooms. They were not clean and not even hand sanitizer. Very gross.

I go every year and always have a great time, I just wish the campground would sell wood and ice, it used to before, I wish it would again!

This is a very good campaign ground which is very close to water and have a beautiful beach to chill. Complete privacy at the beach we loved it. Camp host is very nice and friendly. Only problem is that the site is very close to the road so you will hear a lot of car noise and they dont provide fire wood at the site so bring your own. The host was kind enough to lend us some for the night.

Access to the beach is available at several locations along the campground. There is a lot of traffic noise until 2:00 in the morning. There is a beach is perfect.

Recommendations for activities? I recommend campers do nothing except enjoy the view. Yes, the campground is literally right next to Highway 2, so there's no avoiding traffic noise (surprisingly busy at night). When a truck goes by, which is not an infrequent thing, you will feel it. You also need to prepare for mosquitoes. A lot of them. If you can manage those two real hassles, this campground offers spectacular views of Lake Michigan. And in the four days we were there, we saw less than ten people walking along or swimming in the lake. Finally--and this is no small matter--the vault toilets are the cleanest I have ever seen. They were way cleaner than many bathrooms I've seen on rest stops or gas stations, and certainly the cleanest I've seen in any national park or lakeshore.

Absolutely one of our favorite places to camp, great views, wonderful beach. Sunset are the best viewing area. Host keeps the park beautiful, nice and clean.

Excellent stop over on the way north / west or if you want to hang at the beach and climb some dunes. We had sight #2. It is right off US Hwy 2 so be prepared for some road noise. The highway does quiet down late at night and you can hear the lake. Great campsites and the outhouses were clean. Hosts were very friendly.

We love this campground and have been staying here for years. It is always clean and well maintained. The lake side sites are a gem. Unfortunately between the mayflies, blackflies and mosquitoes we cut our time short. It was unbearable for us both at our site and the beach. We must of hit it at the wrong time of year. We will continue to come back though!

The campground hosts were helpful and available. The bathrooms were clean and well supplied. Great trip (except for the bugs)

Good campsite and great beach. Nice campground hosts as well. The highway noise, especially the rumble strips, were a big detraction however.

Campground is between beach and busy highway. Traffic noise is deafening.One star for nice beach, although water was a cold algae soup.

Natural beauty abounds overlooking Lake Michigan. Site 14 is perfect for experiencing privacy while enjoying some solitude with a view of the lake. Sip your morning coffee watching the cormorants fish for their breakfast or an evening cocktail at sunset from a chair perched on your own little bluff. With just a small dune to the beach where you can swim and appreciate low people traffic. Some road noise can be heard from Highway 2 at the campsite, but quiets at night for a peaceful sleep. You hear very little noise from others camping here.

The only negative was highway noise, but that can't be changed. The lake access was wonderful. strolling along the beach was a highlight of our brief stay.

We struggled to stake our tent on the gravel site. From looking at the map we were to be on the beach, but there was a huge dune between us and the water. That's ok, but could have been portrayed better. The campground runs parallel with highway 2, so is not quiet. The hosts were kind, there were plenty of trees to attach dogs and hammocks, the beach was lovely and the outhouses were clean.

I have been camping here since I was 2. I am 45 now, and I still live it like it was my first time

You will need a level of bug protection,once that is established you will enjoy the experience.

We had a two night reservation and a sign on the post that our site5 was reserved. We left for a few hours and when we returned, our reserved sign had been stolen and our, still wrapped, bundle of wood. It was obvious we were coming back but someone took our stuff anyway. Would not recommend this place. Dont LEAVE ANY STUFF, even if you leave for a while.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
