The campground is fantastic! Bathrooms are clean, sites are private and beautiful. Unfortunately (which is completely out of control of the forest service) is the constant highway noise. If Lake Michigan was more riles up it could have drowned out some of the highway.

We camp in a Camper Van class B, we paid for 3 nights, after the first night we decided to take a day trip to the Falls, when we got back to our campsite the Hosts gave our campsite to someone else! They said they thought we left and wasnt coming back, we found another campsite but it wasnt in the water and was next to expressway! Host did comp for 2 nights

Great campground! Easy access to Lake Michigan beach from the lakeside sites. Pit toliets and no showers, but a great campground. Firewood available at gas station 2 or 3 miles west on US Hwy 2.

Great campground for a short stay. Sites are set among trees, with privacy between sites. Those along the lakeshore provide direct access to a private beach. Yes, there is road noise, but it isnt bothersome for a short stay because the campground itself is so nice. I would happily stay here again.

We stayed at this campground during our week-long Lake Michigan Circle Tour road trip with our 6yo and 8yo children. We stayed at a total of 6 different campgrounds, all but one at state or national parks/forests. This was BY FAR everyone's favorite campsite. From having beach access right at our site to the way the site is nestled into the woods with a relative sense of privacy, it was such a unique experience. It was also gorgeous and watching the sunset from the beach was a highlight of the trip. Though we live more than 8 hours away, this was the one site we all said we wanted to return to one day. So worth it. (Bring insect repellent, pants, hoodie, and socks. The mosquitos were the only negative.)There is firewood available for purchase at this campground. The nearest dump station and water fill-up is at the Brevort Campground nearby.

This was only a one night stop for us on the way to Marquette but we will definitely be back. The sites are large and laid out well and the park is stocked with firewood and ice. The staff were friendly and helpful. A short walk through the woods brings you to the most beautiful Lake Michigan beach and an amazing sunset view.
