This is one of my favorite spots near Bend. The lake views are beautiful, it's rarely ever crowded, in the bathrooms are clean. Pretty much all of the campsites have a lake view. The biggest drawback is the sloping on the campsites and lack of good flat ground space for tents. The campsites are large but flat space is minimal. That is a huge drawback. Luckily at the campsite I was at I only had one tent and there was one flat space big enough for my tent that wasn't right next to the road. It was more to the front of the camp space overlooking the lake. But I like that bathrooms are nearby, water source through the faucet is nearby and the campsite provides two tables and a fire pit. There was also enough tree coverage. It's also good that there is a little restaurant and General Store on site in case there are any needs for that.

Campground was clean, but we paid extra to stay here and have flushing toilets. Sadly tbey were not working. Without the bathrooms working, it would be nice to see the price be cheaper.

Amazing campground host! Hard to see the deterioration of day use restroom and campground restrooms. Some of camping fee dollars need to go to upgrading those facilities especially in such a high use area.

Relatively quiet with the lake a few hundred feet away. They have bathrooms and potable water close to all the sites and the camp host was on the ball about keeping the bathrooms stocked. Restaurants were just down the road if you wished a long with boat rentals. Overall a great place to visit!

My only concern is that we camped during the week since we are teachers and don't work in the summer. The store is closed in the morning, so we couldn't grab coffee on the way out. Everything else was great! (Not a big problem, just an inconvenience).

Great Campground. The lake is beautiful and quiet as there are no motor boats allowed. Lake gets very busy when weather is nice. Lots to see in the area too

The resort restaurant has a very loud fan that sounds like a 1970's generator. You can hear it in the campground, on the lake, everywhere. I asked and they said it stays on all night so I packed up and went home.

Camp ground was nice and I enjoyed the lake. However, bathroom was broken for the men and the other bathrooms were constantly dirty. Only ever saw the park host in the morning.

We arrived at our treeless and sun-blasted campsite to find a large RV across from us running a loud generator. We did not stay. I would have cancelled the reservation, not expecting any refund, but the system would not allow me to do so. I'm sure it's a nice enough place to camp, but loud generators are a non-starter for us.

Campground was nice, and so was the lodge and the service. The bathrooms in the campground were very stinky, they dont appear to be serviced as often as they should.

We have been going to South Twin for 20 yrs and this trip we could tell the campground needs some overall cleanup of the grounds. They have dropped trees last year and still haven't cleaned up the debris , toilets didn't get pumped out before the season started and still no water but we knew that before we went. The campground host was very polite and was doing his job after not having a great host for the last few years.

The water was turned off. The charges were the same as if the water was on. I think the charges should be less in these cases

These sites have really disintegrated in the last few years. They are way too narrow and the ones on the waterside are at a very steep angle which makes leveling very hard. People are having to dig the dirt down on the roadside to get the trailers lower so as to level it easier. We only have a 21-foot travel trailer with lots of experience backing up and setting a trailer. We could not even get into our reserved site which was #4. The turn is so sharp and there is a stump at the end that doesn't allow you to get out and clear the tree on the road side. It was really disappointing. The water side sites really need work. The sites could also use gravel as the moon dust is really bad.

We have camped here for a several years. We were told, ahead of time, there is a water outage, bring all the water you need. All the water spigots were wrapped and not in use. I thought it odd that the toilets in the day use area were able to flush, but the toilets in the campground did not and were closed. I checked the water at these wrapped spigots, the water worked just fine! I cant tolerate being lied to. Im an adult, if you wanted to close the water for the season, then say that. DONT LIE! Such B.S.

I wouldn't recommend asking the resort next door for anything. Lol luckily the camp rangers come in every morning to update the reservation for questions

What a beautiful lake coupled with a terribly unkempt campground. The pros: the restaurant nearby is a nice treat if you want a beer and some dinner. Sadly they don't serve breakfast anymore. We used to love getting breakfast there and seeing the glassy lake in morning. The lake is still awesome to walk around and the fishing is decent.
The cons: Everything else. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING. There's no running water. The caretakers put sign on all the bathrooms with plumbing that states: "bathrooms are closed for the season", which of course makes no sense as we are currently IN SEASON. I was there in early August with our group and everyone in the campground had to share two filthy outhouses. Then there's the generators that run 24/7. Why do you need to be running your generator all night long? If you do that in other campgrounds at least the park caretakers will come out and ask campers to turn them off. Not at South Twin though. You rarely, if ever, see the caretakers. And it shows. I saw another camper waiting for the previous camper to exit the site they had reserved. Other caretakers are so much better other campgrounds, why are they so bad here? It's a shame that the forest service can't do better with campgrounds like this.

The showers were supposed to close at 7pm every night, however, not only were they out of hot water (because they refused to allow people to pay for hot water) but they would shut the showers down anywhere between 5:30 and 7 at their discretion. No warning, they would just shut it down.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
