We arrived at our treeless and sun-blasted campsite to find a large RV across from us running a loud generator. We did not stay. I would have cancelled the reservation, not expecting any refund, but the system would not allow me to do so. I'm sure it's a nice enough place to camp, but loud generators are a non-starter for us.

These sites have really disintegrated in the last few years. They are way too narrow and the ones on the waterside are at a very steep angle which makes leveling very hard. People are having to dig the dirt down on the roadside to get the trailers lower so as to level it easier. We only have a 21-foot travel trailer with lots of experience backing up and setting a trailer. We could not even get into our reserved site which was #4. The turn is so sharp and there is a stump at the end that doesn't allow you to get out and clear the tree on the road side. It was really disappointing. The water side sites really need work. The sites could also use gravel as the moon dust is really bad.

This has always been one of my favorite places to camp, but it's so overused now that it's a huge dust bowl. There's no ground cover left. The chipmunks, while cute to look at, have reproduced to the point that they are out of control. Be careful anywhere you walk because you might sprain your ankle in one of their holes like I did. They also scavenge your campsite, jump on your tent or, in the case of my friend who didn't completely zip her tent door shut, they will wake you up by jumping on you. This year, the garbage service has been insufficient and both times I was there, there were huge piles of trash bags all over on the ground that the chipmunks were pillaging. There is only one flushing toilet for the entire campground because the men's toilet has been broken all year. They do have some vault toilets but I'm not sure when they were last pumped because the stench permeated the entire place. The day use is crazy busy and tends to overflow on the shores below the campsites. I still like this campground but not nearly as much as I used to, unfortunately.
