We booked the last day they were open. If youre looking for a dark sky area, this is it. You could see all the stars, its so pitch black that I couldnt even see my hand in front of me. It was so beautiful, so worth it. Theres absolutely no signal at all and the visitor center doesnt have WiFi either, but theres a small shop for things you might need and a restaurant not even 2 minutes away from the campsites. They had a campfire and called all the campers over to listen about bears, so entertaining. We loved absolutely every second of it. It did get freezing cold by the middle of the night, so, as long as youre prepared, its completely worth booking a night or a few here.

Beautiful location, but some strange design choices...The natural beauty of this campground is undeniable gorgeous scenery, peaceful atmosphere, and great for families. However, a couple of things really make you scratch your head.First, the bathrooms. Theyve clearly been remodeled recently and look quite nice but why no lighting? After all that effort, theyre still pitch dark at night. Solar lights are inexpensive, easy to install, and would make a huge difference. Its a basic need, especially for safety.Second, the little iron fence poles with white plastic whats the deal? Not only are they visually out of place in a natural campground setting, but they also pose a tripping hazard, especially for kids running around. They dont seem to serve any useful purpose and just clutter the space. It feels like someone overthought the design without considering how people actually use the area.Its a great campground overall, but a little more practical, common-sense planning would really elevate the experience.

The reservations system made the stay less than it could be. Many times i saw empty sites being held for no shows. If the site reservation was also connected to a a compulsory verification that the site was to be occupied then those sites could have been filled. There were many single night reservations according to the camp data and many were no filled. This is a waste of campground facilities. The reservation system that existed before with 50% walkin worked well even during busy times. I think its time to examine the data. It should be possible to reserve a 14 day stay and be in one site the whole time. I had to move 3 times to be there all with real reservations.

H46 is a great site, with privacy, backing onto woods. Attended the Dana Campfire ranger program 2 nights - recommend. We learnt alot about bears! We were staying in Tuolumne to rockclimb, and from the campground you can walk to a number of great climbing including Cathedral, Matthis Crest and the climbs on Lembert Dome.

This site is immediately adjacent to one other site with compromised privacy, but has decent space and a few trees. Noise from the nearby bathroom may annoy some. The lovely river is a few steps away down a walking path. Sites on the new loop H seemed to be the quietest and best in this enormous campground.

The staff were excellent. Cheerful, helpful and friendly. Bathrooms were convenient and clean. The campground itself is not pleasant, overcrowded and uncomfortable. The first "campsite" we got was not a campsite under any definition. It was a tiny patch of gravel at a 25 degree slope with nowhere to pitch a tent. If we had been there in summer we would have been in big trouble. Fortunately there was a single alternative available which the staff helped us switch our reservation to. This one was not much better but at least there was a small patch of ground to pitch our two person Tent. The campsites are jammed in like sardines and we heard many people complaining about both the density and the poor quality of the sites with bad drainage. After an expensive and long renovation this is very disappointing. Fortunately we only stayed one night before heading out to the backcountry so it was tolerable. Again, every staff person we encountered was wonderful and helpful and they deserve 5 stars, it is just the campsites that are poor.

We were very pleased to be able to score a campsite. However the process was cumbersome and confusing. The staggered dates and closing a number of sites without explanation at the end of the season was disappointing.Bears and all it still is a special place.

the facilities that have been updated are all in good shape, and the space between campsites seems expanded, I didn't feel like other neighbors were right on top of me. plenty of flat ground for tent/s, and the new tables were a comfortable height- I m 6' 2" to work at while cooking and prepping meals

Great area of Yosemite to stay in and the renovations to the campground are very well done. The hike to Cathedral Lakes is a good one, about 4.4 miles one-way from the campground.

Beautiful and clean campgrounds. Access to free charging for your vehicle was huge! Will come back during season!

The available campsites for the soft opening of Tuolumne Meadows were down to one. We had a site set back from the camp road and thus away from the travel trailers and their generators. Generator time is limited, thankfully. Easy to collect firewood allowed at least one campfire which we enjoyed. Rangers were lesser in number due to cutbacks but were there to hand out guides and maps and check in late arrivals by going to your campsite the next morning. Group campfires were every evening with quality presentations educating all ages about bio-diversity and how this relates to a healthy forest environment.

I love the way they've made the riverside road a trail, and when they take down the ropes now protecting certain areas, it will be really nice.On the other hand, the site we got (A41) was right next to both the bathroom (flsuhing)and the trash cans (banging) and the water spigot.We were kept up much of the night by the noises

I have visited Yosemite many times yet I had never stayed at Tuolumne Meadows. The sites were well marked and clean. The bathrooms are amazing for a campground, and the staff were all very friendly (of course they are they work in Yosemite). I really loved my stay. I will return. Colton

Had a great 2 night stay, good facilities , helpful staff and enjoyable evening Ranger talk.Only problem was difficulty booking same site for 2 nights via website. This necessitated relocating camp for night two.

Amazing! All new and super friendly rangers.

Beautiful campground, and great people working there. I would give a higher rating except for the motorhomes starting up early in the morning and letting their engines run for 30 minutes or more. This created exhaust that I was forced to breath if I didn't get up and move away from my campsite. But it was very cold and damp and I really didn't want to get up that early. Please put all camper vans and motorhomes in one part of the campground and not next to people who are tent or car camping. You could also change the hours so they could not run motors until after 8:30am.

The campground was clean, quiet, and gorgeous! Having barely secured a spot when reservations open, the initial selected campsite was on a pronouced slant and not level for tent or car camping. Luckily the next morning, the rangers helped me relocate to an just-opened-up-due-to-cancellation site with level areas and even more open space for star gazing and beautiful nature.

Enjoyed camping at this site. The campfire ring was a bit far from the picnic table. The site is close to water source, not too far from the bathrooms (2), has 2 tent spots. Close to the next campsite (46).

Everyone was helpful and friendly. Campfires and other programs were excellent-fun and informative. Site A39 turned out to be a great site FOR ME. Its a bit quirky-with the table, fire ring and tent pad on different levels, but plenty of space for a medium tent and two cars. Best part of the site is the location-low traffic, not too close to bathrooms or garbage cans, close to the river, far from Tioga Rd, an easy walk to the entrance and store, and not right on top of other campsites. Ill try to book this exact site again.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
