Slough Creek is the best location to Lamar Valley. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The only downfall is that theres not enough sites.

This campground was perfect for me. It has a place to set up camp and the surrounding area is stunning. It's the perfect place if you want an early start in Lamar Valley. Fair warning, at the time I went there was a lot of black bear activity (apparently one was just on the other side of the creek from my site). The campground host gave a great rundown on bear-related rules, but definitely make sure you have bear spray.

The camp spots were a little bit too close for our liking but overall had a good experience. Its a lovely area!

Nice location. Be aware, there is lots of animals, particularly bison and bears in the area, which, if you are aware of animal, safety precautions and procedures, makes for a fulfilling outdoor experience.

Best campsite ever! Site is long - plenty of room for our trailer and truck. Best part of this site is the view! We had bears visit each night just across the creek. Also a bison in the distance. Campground is quiet and had great hosts.

Great location from which to enjoy the Lamar Valley, especially for those wishing to spend sunrise and sunsets there. Campground was great, host was great. We stayed two nights for enjoying the Valley, which we believe is maybe one of the most impressive areas within the park.

the best campground at Yellowstone - if you love low key, quiet and wildlife.

Great small campground that is very quiet and scenic. Tent camped three nights and it was a perfect location for exploring and hiking. Saw a black bear across the creek from the campground as well as a bison off the trail up the creek. Loved it!

Excellent location! I spend time watching wildlife in Lamar, and Slough Creek made an excellent basecamp. Lots of wildlife including birds, black bears, and bison around the campground. Sites 4-7 are all close together but everyone was friendly and respectful. Camp hosts are great. I hope to get a site again.

This was the third campsite we stayed at during our out west trip from Kentucky. This was our second favorite campground simply due to its location within the park. Very isolated and was nice to have a spot away from the more popular areas. If you're looking to get up early for wildlife viewing, this is the place to stay at. The host was super friendly and nice. Gave us good recommendations. The biggest negative was how close you are to your neighbors. Some of the other sites offered a bit more privacy. It was fine for what we needed. Just sleeping our van and then getting up early for some wildlife viewing in the valley. I would definitely come here again. Didn't use the vault toilets so no observations there. No cell service but star linked worked great.

We where lucky enough to be able to stay for 3 nights at this campground. Starting our holiday we only where able to reserve 1 night at a tight spot, but because of last minute cancellations in the week before we would be arriving, and the outstanding notification for new openings, we managed to change spot and move from 1 to 3 nights! What a fantastic place it is! Nature at its finest. Nice creek (also when your site is not next to it), wildlife and very nice hosts as well. At the start of the unpaved road to it, there is a wolf-watching hotspot (with scopes but visible). So close to the serengeti of America! Compliments for the restrooms where you expect a large smell, but you don't smell anything nasty.

Only draw back was lack of water, otherwise this is the perfect location for wildlife viewing. So hard to get a reservation in, frustrating

One of the best spots weve stayed, loved being next to the creek. It was windy the night we stayed though. That said, it seemed to have by far the most bear activity of the campsites in Yellowstone. Posters all over the campground and the host came up to make sure we were near safe. Very glad to be in an RV, dont think Id tent camp here

Great location, love being so close to Lamar Valley. The campground is quiet, the host is very nice. The bathrooms are pit toilets but kept clean. Love camping here

This is my 3rd year finally being able to get a spot in Slough and it's by far my favorite place to camp! Ginnie and Charlie are the BEST hosts I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and I love that this campground only has 16 spots and is so remote from anything else! I stayed in 7 different spots over 14 days and each one was great! The bathrooms are super clean and always well stocked, the spots are always well kept and offer level places for my van and we even had bears and bison come through the campground!Best spot ever if you can get a space here!

The camp host was great, very helpful. The campground was nice and well maintained. Our particular site doesnt really have a tent pad but we made it work.

Spent only 1 night here but it was magical. Easily the best campsite in the park and the host was very nice.

Beautiful campground with awesome views

The site was beautiful and set up nicely and the campground was quiet in the evenings and early mornings. Plus, such amazing hosts! Charlie and Ginny were helpful, kind, and fun to talk to. I will mention that sites particularly along the creek can have lots of mosquitoes, so come prepared. Also, remember this is a non-generator campsite with very few sites that can be reserved that fit mid to larger rvs, so come prepared with your solar panels if needed and make sure you will fit (worth scoping it out ahead of time if you are able).

The camp hosts are fabulous and the location can't be beat! Thank you Ginnie and Charlie!

A wonderful experience. Sites 1-4 are prime, open and next to the creek. The other sites are pretty close together and are more so in the trees. Wonderful camp hosts and a great location overall to see the Wildlife in Lamar Valley especially when waking up at 5am in order to do so (entire campground is around 20 minutes away from Lamar). Great spot for stargazing as there is no light pollution anywhere!

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
