I wish I could rate this campground higher. We got it late but Greg and Theresa, the camp hosts, were still up and met us. We learned that Site 29 would present a challenge for us to level our van. We decided to use it the first night and Greg would see if another site would come available the next day that would switch to. The next night we got in late again and went to Site 29, only to not find our name on the reservation card. Greg surprised us with Site 31, which was quite a bit more level and contributed to a fantastic night's sleep. We got in early the last night and Greg had moved us again, to Site 25. Moving around was not a problem since you can't leave ANYTHING out in camp due to "visitors". We were told that two bears had been spotted in camp that day and the night before there might have been some kind of a large cat. Ultimately, we didn't see anything at camp but Tower Fall is the closest camp site to Lamar Valley which is the best place to spot most of the other inhabitants of Yellowstone, like bears and wolves. We would not have changed a thing, even the first night. Note: there was drinking water available, which was a nice surprise. It may have been listed on the site amenities, but I didn't see it.

Wonderful peaceful campground for small rigs, and super friendly and helpful host. Bears visit the campground all the time, for real, so do your part to keep them safe. Its their home. Site 10 was very spacious, nicely level, and fit our 20 ft trailer and tow vehicle comfortably. I was able to get marginal cell signal with a booster, but no service at all without it.

Overall this is a more relaxed campground with fewer sites, wooded, pit toilets, no hookups, and more connected with nature. There was a adolescent bear that strolled through during our visit. The downside is most sites are quite uneven, so for RVs its lopsided camping. It wouldn't take too much to make level parking spots for RVs, so hopefully that will happen as its a nice rustic location.

Site 29 had incredibly inclined parking that we could not level our camper van using blocks. The camp host was awesome and relocated us to the cyclist/hiker parking area.

Our parks are not for sale! Amazing rangers, nature, and facilities. Keep it that was and give the staff their jobs back

The site was very well maintained, and I cant say enough good things about the Camp Host. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and understood what camping in Yellowstone is all about. When a bear wandered into the site, he handled the situation calmly and professionallykeeping both the campers and the bear safe without any issues.

I think the campground host was exceptional!Made sure everyone knew about storing food/toiletries properly. As soon as anyone pulled into a site he made sure they knew the rules.

Great location and volunteer staff. Bring camper levels - very sloped. Sites are close together.

This is a small campground and some of the spots could be challenging if you have an RV or trailer. However, it is centrally located to many sites and locations in the park. It is clean, quiet, and had a fabulous camp host. I highly recommend this location.

Campground is good, you are very close to your neighbors, the host was very friendly and helpful, great place to look for wildlife. Some of the sights were pretty steep if you are sleeping in an RV or van so make sure you bring blocks!

The camp host is a fantastic guy! He told us amazing stories about the wildlife. The campsite is beautiful and quiet. We had a great time and wished we'd stayed longer.

most sites are not level for RVs/Vans. Site 29 is probably the worst - tent camp only
@KennethA818800 · Camped on Sep 4, 2025 at Campsite #19
A very nice relatively small campground. The sites are fairly tightly packed into the space and some of the "tent only" sites have little level ground and may not be suitable for more than one tent. All have a single tent pad. Most of the campground is in trees, so there is shade among large, attractive conifers. The campground host was one of the very nicest I have met anywhere, friendly, helpful, available and accommodating. We had a very nice 10-day stay.

I thought this campground would have been updated after 30 years. It is small and your packed like sardines unless you have a compact car you better have some spacial skills to figure out how you will fit in your site. It is not even remotely level even with levelers.
@RichardD237266 · Camped on Aug 25, 2025 at Campsite #23
Not many flat tent places on the tent sites.

Overall the campsite and campground was very nice. It is convenient to Lamar Valley and Roosevelt Lodge ( where camper can get a shower for $5) It was quiet at night and the host was friendly and gave us some good information.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
