This campground was the perfect location for us, close to the action in Lamar Valley. The camp host was THE BEST, so helpful and friendly. The sites I eventually got were perfect for watching the nightly Beaver action. I loved our stay at this campground.

Beautiful campground. No communication on closing ( we were there the closing weekend) and locking of campground gate at 10 am -

Looking for a car campground that feels a little more like the backcountry? This is the spot. A few miles down a bumpy, pothole ridden, dirt road and youll hit pay dirt. Farther away from the crowds, this campground boasts scenic views, lulling sounds of the creek, stellar views of the Milky Way, and we even got treated to natures alarm clock one morning: a whole bison herd stomping and grunting through the campsite at 0600! Perfect location for an early start for prime wildlife watching in the Lamar Valley. No potable water at the moment, so fill up before you come.

The hosts were very nice and helpful. The site was well-maintained, close to the trash/recycling and (non-potable) water. Site A4 is directly next to A5 and it's a bit of a walk to the bathrooms, so there are definitely better sites at the campground, but overall it was completely fine. For anglers: I caught a couple small rainbows (which are non-native and must be killed) walking upstream from the campground. You need to drive about two minutes back down the road to access the trailhead for the upper meadows of Slough Creek (you could walk, but the hike itself is long enough...)

A wonderful experience. Saw a bison in the meadow across the creek, deer in the campground, a beaver and her kit in the creek plus a badger in my camp.

A bison walked by our neighbor’s site, it was cool. The campground is small, but right in the valley, so we didn’t have to drive far for wildlife. The host was very friendly. Hi vn Ly recommended

Right next to the creek where we saw river otters. Very clean toilets.
