Gerald Freeman Campground is a GREAT place to get away if you are looking to disconnect. There is NO SERVICE of any kind up here! We have a powerful WeBoost on our RV and STILL no bars. There are a few places you can move around to and maybe get 1 bar, but they are hard to find. Starlink works great though, and once established you can use WiFi calling for your phone. The scenery is beautiful here, and you almost have to look straight up to see the sky because you are surrounded by mountains. The lake/creek/river (I'm not sure which it is because it says lake, but it has a slight current) runs directly by the campsites and there is easy access for fishing, kayaking, and other aquatic activities. The campground itself is SUPER clean, and so are the shower houses. The sites are level and well maintained. Some sites have full hookups (W/S/E), while others have W/E, electric only, and primitive. Make sure you know what you are booking so you don't get surprised. Some of the nicest sites are electric only. There is a little store on the property for a few essentials, but it is small with limited selection. Our water pressure at our site was very low, only around 20 lbs, so we had to rely on our pump and tank, but we could at least fill it so it was a non-issue for us. We are a full-time RV family, traveling the country with our three dogs, and we will be staying here again in the future. It's a safe, clean campground with everything that you need and a GREAT family atmosphere!

Campground is very nice. There is plenty of fishing etc to do. When choosing you spot choose wisely. Map may say riverfront and its actually a just a view. If your tent camping find shade as there is no relief from the sun.

It is a lovely campground, but the last two years the grass has not been cut when we went, which is several times a year. This year was the worst it was over a foot tall in many places on our spot. We will be doing the rest of our camping at a different campground this year. Hope next year will be better.

I think the grass shouldve been mowed

We love staying here! Weve been coming here for each holiday and its kid friendly and weve never had any issues. Definitely check out the snack shack for boating rentals they have the best prices.

This is an awesome campground. We love the easy access to the water and our site was perfect. I highly recommend this place. It is clean, quite, and very affordable!

Way understaffed regarding check-ins, and check-outs.

This is a very basic campground. There are no hosted programming/events/activities for guests that we are aware of. There are multiple large playgrounds at this campground. Bath houses are very basic.The camp sites are mowed, the bath houses are cleaned - at least daily and theres no debris - except in the area around the trash dumpsters.

We were pleasantly surprised that we had full hookup at our site. This was not clear when we registered on the website. The bathhouse was kind of old and not cleaned often enough. They need air conditioning too. Other than that we loved our campsite.

Nice grounds. Bath houses were decent. Snak shak was handy and close.

We absolutely love this camp ground. We always come here. My kids love it. Its a great place to bring ur family. One thing I can say is the bathrooms need a lot more attention and maybe a mirror for the ladys room. But other then that it was great

I love the campground and being near the water. The only thing I dislike is not having any cell phone service. I do need to check in with family. Or if we would need medical attention we cant make any calls without driving a couple of miles.

Nice campground along the Sutton lake. Pretty remote so make sure you pack everything in.
@LouisA1065885 · Camped on May 29, 2025 at Campsite #44
Overall the experience was pretty good. The only concern I have is that the dumpsters being used this year are smaller than last year and become full and overflowing before being emptied.

Nice campground with lots of room for kids to play, ride bikes, play in the river... they sleep well after playing outside all day.

Beautiful spot. Bathhouse needs work but overall spectacular. The two trails were nice too.

We had a very nice stay at Gerald Freeman campground. Sites were plenty big (length and width) being the end of April there were only 7 of us. Right on one of the lakes "fingers". We did have a slight problem with the electric service (50amp), but we were able to use the 30amp until it was fixed the next morning. Closest bathrooms (by the playground) were still closed. The ones at the far end in the loop were open. This was a low-key stay for us as we were continuing on to Ohio to meet friends. Will come back in the future to discover the area

Beautiful campground! No cell service but we were fine with that. My only negative complaint I have is with the camp host or lack of staff! It is self check in which we did. Two days in a row we stopped at the guard shack to try to pay and stopped by the camp host site, NO ONE! Then a park ranger came to our camper saying the camp host has been unable to contact for payment. We met the park ranger who was very nice at the guard shack and paid. Very poor service!

COE properties are always very clean and well maintained. Gerald R Freeman is no exception. Multiple large new playgrounds and lots of space. Make sure you know what services are in your space. They have quite a variety. Great campground!!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
