my site was well situated, close to the pavilion, which was handy since I do not have a rain awning. The creek offered good background scenery. excellent park.

Ive camped at Gerald Freeman my entire life since a teenager, Im 66 now. Its my favorite place to go on vacation and enjoy the outdoors. Several years ago the Army Corps of Engineers changed their policy and has closed off 3/4 of the campsites during spring and fall seasons. As a hunter and fisherman enthusiast, the best favorable campsites are closed off for campers who like lesser crowds and quieter atmosphere. I wish they would reopen the entire campground like it was in the past so we can enjoy the beauty of West Virginia and my favorite place to spend vacation.

We chose a waterfront site so that we could try out a new kayak. There was no water, a 95% dry stream bed. Not the campground's fault, but disappointing anyway. What was the campground's fault was not enforcing the quiet time. There was lots of noise until well after midnight. Other than that, it was a beautiful place. There was one more thing, no laundry facility open.

Very beautiful setting. Wish we could have stayed longer. Was told by other campers that the lake adjacent to campground is a great experience. Lots of wildlife to watch from your camping site.

Quiet place. We visited at the end of the season but great access and beautiful night skies.

Overall a great experience. Even though most of the slots were filled out was still quite quiet. The rest rooms could be a bit cleaner, but they were not terrible.

The Holly River was very low due to drought, but the grandkids had fun anyway !

This is a great campground! Beautiful setting with flat lots and more hilly lots. Really enjoyable for kids as lots of places for them to ride bikes and playgrounds. Easy kayak launch. Very clean restrooms. Little shop and snack bar with ice cream, some food and wood.

We enjoyed our stay but was disappointed in the snack shop. The woman running it is rude at times and does not seem to want to run this

This is one of our favorite locations to camp. The campground is in excellent condition with all your amenities. Having a campsite next to the water for fishing and floating is an extra plus. The extras are the view of the nightly sky is absolutely phenomenal, the peaceful evenings and having no cell service really helps you step away and relax.

The campground was well kept, grass mowed and very clean. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the bathhouse . The bathhouse did not have soap and smelled a little off. Really a minor issue. Also, the wood sold at the campground was not seasoned. But again, the campground was quiet, everyone was friendly, and the outdoor areas were fantastic. Will definitely stay here again.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
