Ive camped at Gerald Freeman my entire life since a teenager, Im 66 now. Its my favorite place to go on vacation and enjoy the outdoors. Several years ago the Army Corps of Engineers changed their policy and has closed off 3/4 of the campsites during spring and fall seasons. As a hunter and fisherman enthusiast, the best favorable campsites are closed off for campers who like lesser crowds and quieter atmosphere. I wish they would reopen the entire campground like it was in the past so we can enjoy the beauty of West Virginia and my favorite place to spend vacation.

Such a beautiful place with level spots for the camper. We are definitely planning our next stay here again really soon.
