There is no Internet or cell phone signal, although it seemed we had it last year when we were there. This is something we need for work and so we left a day early. No one in the check-in booth to help us cancel the second day and no way on the website to cancel If you are at the campground and leaving early.

August was our first time at GF. The park is beautiful. We tied out our Kayaks to the edge of our site (down the bank), and had them out everyday! We will definitely be back! It would be great if the leash rule was enforced. The entire week we had neighbors that let their dogs run loose.

Enjoyed the campsite beside the river. Very family friendly.

The only thing I did not like is having to make a reservation. Always before we could drive up and pick a spot. Why do we have to have reservations, never had had to before?

What a lovely campground! This was our first time staying in West Virginia and we had a great stay. The campsites are very spacious. We stayed at site 43 and had full hookups. We had a nice picnic table and a great fire pit that had a grill grate. The campground was nice and quiet as well. No cell service once you get about 10ish miles outside the campground. Closest grocery store that had more than just dry good staples seemed to be Walmart (which was about a 20-30 minute drive) and the closest place that had firewood available was Ace Hardware, which was also about 20-30 minute drive away. Our GPS had trouble getting us there, but just follow the signs and the directions on the website. That's much easier than what we had to do, which was turn around at Bee Run because our GPS was all out of sorts.
