Sites are a bit close to each other, so you can hear everything, but its a pretty place with clean bathrooms. We didnt come the first night because of rain, and I couldnt find a way to free up the site for anyone else. There were at least 4 campsites that were reserved that nobody showed up for, a shame for others needing a site.

Wonderful spot and close to the park, tent stakes were hard to put in some areas. Was rainy so we ate underneath a shelter but overall great spot.

I was in A loop, site #23. Nice to have cell service to be able to monitor weather. Also visitor center is short distance nearby. Quiet and had great 4 nights in the campground.

Great location with beautiful sites!! We really enjoyed our peaceful stay! Our pull through site was too tight for us to pull through, but we were able to back in just fine and make it work. Clean, nice bathrooms. Beautiful!

I really like Newhalem campground- people are respectful and normally it is very peaceful. But the evening of my stay there were deafening alarm blasts from the Gorge dam followed by 90 minutes of very loud low-flying helicopters circling directly above cute campground.

The sites are beautiful. The bathrooms are clean and stocked. No hiking right out of the campground, but easy enough to get to by car. Loved it!

We loved every minute of our stay here. So central to all hikes and cool viewpoints. The sites are so private and shady. Restrooms are super clean and maintained. We even got internet service here! Will return again to camp. Amazing place!

One of the best campgrounds I visited and we camp frequently! Well maintained with hiking trails and a great visitor center. Only suggestion would be to add showers.

Beautiful, clean campsite, thoughtfully laid out. Privacy from neighbors despite being a fair number of sites. Quiet and really clean bathrooms. The water site had great water pressure. I appreciated the bear proof containers at every campsite and mature trees to sling a hammock. The walking paths near the Skagit River were also fantastic. Definitely would stay again.

What truly makes Newhalem Campground special is the incredible volunteers. Both Lorraine and Wendy were so friendly and helpful, and Lorraine, in particular, went above and beyond to make us feel genuinely welcome at North Cascades National Park.She was the first person we met upon arriving at Newhalem and kindly helped us as we searched for our campsite that first night. The next evening, we drove over to Colonial Creek Campground to check for availability and happened to see Lorraine again. She went out of her way to help us, even walking to find us to let us know a site had just opened up so we could see if our RV would fit.Lorraine answered all of our (many!) questions with patience and care, and we never once felt rushed. This kind of thoughtful service is rare and so appreciated.Thank you, Lorraine!

Great campsite! So peaceful. Bear box was a little small so dont bring a large cooler! Quite a walk from parking, be prepared. Plenty of parking, we had two cars.

Enjoyed our campsite very much, was thrilled to get a decent site on somewhat late notice during such a busy season in mid-July. It was a quiet night and we loved the campground and park, of course!

This was our first stay at Newhalem Creek and we found it to fit our needs very well. The sites are large with a paved parking slot. It is very near the Skagit with trails for easy river access. It was clean and the rangers were very friendly. It was a terrific experience.

Walk-in sites are great!

This is a beautiful campground with nice walking trails to the river. The sites can be a bit tricky if you have a big rig but it is doable. We have a 35-foot fifth wheel and had to back out of our pull-through site because the trees were a bit too close to drive through.

This is a well run, clean, lovey campground. I hiked from the campground, up the river to Newhalem and walked up the waterfall and enjoyed the garden. Lovely!

Beautiful campground. Stayed in Loop C. We were only able to get a site for 2 days, and then another site in the same loop for 2 more days for a total of 4 days. It was easy to move between sites - usually people would check out earlier than the noon check out time which made switching sites easy. There are a few hikes right from the campground, or you can go East on Hwy 20 to reach many more hikes.
@ChariseW041193 · Camped on Jul 6, 2025 at Campsite #110
Not much privacy and our site (110) was pretty small. We found most of the hikes we wanted to do were over an hour away but that doesnt mean there werent good hikes closer. The bathrooms were nice, clean and actually had soap dispensers! Overall, Id stay here again as long as it was near places I wanted to see.

We stayed one night while exploring Cascades and this was the perfect spot between the Mt Baker area the main attractions of the National Park. We enjoyed an evening stroll on the Trail of Cedars and it was great being able to access that directly from the campground.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
