Newhalem campground was beautiful. Despite being in a roundabout we felt very secluded. Very close to the general store and many gorgeous hiking spots. The bathrooms were clean and the water spout easy to use.

Loved the simplicity of arriving at our site and seeing the reservation tag with our name on it. The campground was well maintained and our fellow campers were polite and respectful. Proximity to the river and visitor's center was appreciated.

Excellent campsite. restrooms were clean and water accessible. Potential campers should know that a siren for emergency purposes goes off for 1 minute when appropriate. Check with the ranger for more details, but teh siren is continuous and loud. At our campsite it went off at 9:45 pm. Was scary for the children.

Newhalem Campground is a great spot! I stayed at one of the walk-in sites right on the river, and it was so refreshing to sit by the water every evening. The sites are spacious, private, and felt quieter than the other campgrounds I checked out along Route 20. Newhalem definitely had a more relaxed vibe.I stayed about 10 days, and the location couldnt have been bettereverywhere I wanted to visit was within about an hours drive in either direction. The bathrooms were clean, but the sink knobs make it tough to wash your hands properly, so Id suggest bringing hand sanitizer and your own soap. There are no showers on site, but thats what the river and alpine lakes are for. If you need a real shower, Skagit River Campground in Marblemount has them for $10.All in all, Id definitely recommend Newhalem if youre looking for a scenic, peaceful, and well-located campground in the North Cascades.

We enjoyed our time at the group campground. When staying here people should know that a loud ALARM goes off in the evenings when they release water out of the dam. We had no idea what it was at first and it really freaked us out.

Overall experience was fantastic. Beautiful location and close to so much hiking and adventure. If you stay here definitely take the time to drive Washington pass into Winthrop. Its about 3 hours driving plus however much time you spend exploring. The only reason this doesnt get a perfect score is due to the lack of information on local sirens and alarms. While camping several extremely loud sirens a came from the Newhalem area. Being so close tot he dams several members of our party were concerned that they could be dam alarms. Discussions with the rangers next day indicated we had nothing to be concerned about, however information in the form of flyers on bathrooms could be extremely helpful in mitigating and unintended panic or accidental inaction.

Sufficiently spaced sites, neat, clean bathrooms. Some sites will take max one tent. We were lucky to not have any generators nearby, hence was quite.

Very nice campground right on the river. Bathrooms were clean and site was a good size. We had a walk-in site and it was a little confusing that there was no sign that included the walk-in site numbers at the entrance. You really need to know what loop you are in and just drive the loop until you find the walk-in sites. I appreciated the secure bear box for our food since our site was a 5-minute walk from our car. I probably would not do a walk-in site again but would rather have the car closer to secure our food, etc. much more easily.

I stayed in one of the walk-in spots in loop A in August. Close to the river but not too close. Each site had a private bear box. The site was great and well maintained, and we had two tent spots! The bathrooms were clean and stocked with toilet paper and soap (bring a towel), there was potable water, and a sink available. The river and North Cascades visitors center were both walking distance. It was a great location to explore hiking spots and view points. And the price was great. As a visitor to the park, reserving ahead is a huge perk!

Awesome campsite in close proximity to world class hikes and lakes.

Many or all of the camp sites had raised level spots for tents. We saw only two close-together water sources for the camp. Our site was a bit of a stroll away. Very good location for some moderate hikes and some vista points to the east on Hwy 20. Be sure to drive to the Washington Pass vista point. It is about an hour east of the campground and technically out of the park, but worth it. There are plenty of stops for hikes and views along the way.

This was a nice campground with decent size lots. My only complaint was that there is only one bathroom is loop C and it's a far walk if you don't have a site next to it. Otherwise, it's walking distance to a few trails and the visitor center. The sites are set within the trees and a great location for explore North cascades NP

Really great campground. Most sites seemed like a good size with decent privacy. Good bathrooms. Picnic shelter with sink. The website mentions that there is a dam nearby and sirens that signal high-water danger. However, we couldnt find any additional info on site. The siren is also apparently used every day for lunch break. And when the air-raid/zombie-apocalypse sounding siren went off after dark, we had no info on whether we needed to get the heck out or not.

Beautiful and clean camp ground and sites. Best sites for tent campers are on D loop.

Overall good campsite. Quiet and well spaced out. Good cellphone service. Wish we would have known about the siren beforehand.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
