Colonial Creek South Campground in Skagit County is located 1 hr 38 min east of Mount Vernon, WA with an elevation of 1,230 feet. There are a total of 59 campsites including 11 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from mid May to the beginning of September. 48 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 14 and 43 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $24.00 per night. Some amenities include dump station, boat ramp, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Clean facilities and unbelievably beautiful sites within the park. We hiked, fished, played games and slept to the sound of light rain that only came at night. Was one of our favorite camping trips ever.

We stayed here one night. We hiked Maple Pass Trail, about 30 minutes east of the campground the day before. We were planning to hike along Thunder Creek (access from the campground) the next morning, but we were too exhausted and skipped it.We stayed at site 163, which was at the end of the loop. We were happy to find trees that worked perfectly for our hammocks. It seemed like most sites would have had trees that worked. The fog over the water in the morning was magical. It's a very beautiful area.

This is a terrific campground. It is right by the lake, with some campsites located right on the shore. Each campsite provides a bear-safe food storage container that looks like a cupboard and is anchored to the ground. The flush toilets are clean. A highlight was the dishwashing station which also had a food disposal! Our tent site was plenty large enough for two 2-person tents and it was level. Some tent sites (like ours) require a steep walk down from the car. I have Verizon and had no service at all, which was expected. Would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat.

Location and facilities were great. Staff were amazing and helpful. Lake was beautiful and fun. Hikes were enjoyable and a good match for the hikers we had (aged 6+).

Great campground on one of the most beautiful lakes in Washington. Wooded site we stayed in was very private, waterfront sites a little closer together. We stayed one night before launching kayaks for a boat-in site and it worked perfectly for us since there is a boatlaunch in the site and a safe place to park. Will continue to come here.

We reserved 2 campsites. 73 was a disaster. Until improvements are made it needs to be taken off the list. Our upside 78 was very nice. All in all I eate it very good!

Convenient location in North Cascades. Unfortunately the restroom closest to us was closed which is tough with little kids. Fire ban was unfortunate as well but luckily someone in our party kept aware of that so we brought a propane pit to use for making s'mores and keeping that experience.

Absolutely gorgeous campground right on the lake, very clean bathroom facilities. My campsite felt very private.

While this site is nice as far as being near the water, it is also, as others have written, right next to the public boat dock and very close to the highway, making it surprisingly noisy and not feel especially private. If you have a choice, Id go for a campsite further away from the highway and the day use area.

#72 was right on the water & more private. Bear boxes are at each site. Its a walk in site so bring a wagon to bring your gear, tent, cooler from the car thats parked. Campground was mostly quiet by 10. There are bathrooms with flush toilets & sink but no showers. There is a large washbasin sink with spray hose for dishes by the front entrance.

I enjoy visiting this campground and love the number of nearby hikes. Each visit has been positive, and I love how quiet it is and swimming in the lake. It's also a positive you are able to totally disconnect from the outside world with not having internet. This place is great for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

Wonderful campground! Site 106 although it wasn't on the water, it has very beautiful vegetation and had more privacy than the lake sites. There is a site nearby but you don't really notice them that much. Highly recommend this site and campground!

Colonial creek is a family favorite camp. We had site 88 and it was very nice and close to the water. We had a nice private beach with lots of tree coverage. 88 was pretty close to 89 but it wasn't much of an issue and the people in that site were very nice. It was great to have the lake site and I really hope to return.

We love colonial creek! We had a group and camped in multiple campsites. This particular site, 102 had a very weird layout as you pretty much had to walk through 101 and when you get to the campsite you are wedged between 101 and 111. I didnt mind this that much but some would not like this. The rangers and camp host were amazing and helped us immediately with an issue that we had. Highly recommend colonial creek and hope to return!

Very clean and beautiful campground. Downside was the lake was quite low. Site 85 was awesome and had the perfect access to the lake though while also being close walking distance to the bathroom, water spout and dumpster. The only thing I didn't like about 85 was how close it was to other sites. No privacy at all and you can hear the neighbors snoring at night.

We were in site 151. It was very private and surrounded by trees. It was close to the restroom which was very clean. We spent time at the lake and hiked the Maple Pass Loop and to Blue Lake.

Next to boat launch. Decent distance from water and bathroom. Could hear highway 20 at night
