This spot is great! Campgrounds and restrooms are clean and in excellent condition.

this is probably the most beautiful place ive ever camped. we could paddle right up to it - it was stunning. No showers tho!

Very heavy tree cover through the camp grounds, so warm and dry weather will suit it best. Was drizzly when we were there. Bring tablecloth and bench cushions for mossy picnic tables. Some noisy large groups distracted from the otherwise pretty scenery, especially at night. Sites near the northern end of the campground may have more access to the lake, but definitely more road noise - I'd stay south, and away from group/family sites. No cell coverage, no showers, but clean bathrooms and good water. Tent sites were good and flat. Campsite staff/rangers were friendly, kept the place neat, and reminded folks to put food etc in the bear boxes.

Fantastic spot for kayaking. Campsites are very pretty, wooded, some with water view/access, but a bit close together. So, enjoy getting to know your camping neighbors!

Site #82 is literally the best site in this campground. Its large, car is parked right at it, picnic table is at the lakefront, bear box is huge and not shared, dumpster is by the car (not close enough to tent or table to be annoying though) and bathroom is right across the street. Other campers would walk by and comment on how great this site was. Campground overall is quite clean. Yes, you can hear your neighbors a bit but we didnt feel it was that bad contrary to what others may have said. Im telling youbook this exact site. You wont be disappointed.

The best you could ask for in a National Park Campsite - access to lake, flush toilets, ranger programs.= and yes bear boxes too.110 site was huge with three tent pads, 3 picnic tables and two bear proof boxes. This site does not face the lake but its close by - shade and large space with no immediate sites was a huge plus.

Beautiful spot, running water and toilets which was great! Great hiking trails near by. It was pretty busy, and the site was right next to the parking lot which is why I only have 4 stars. I would still stay here again!

If youre planning on hanging at Diablo Lake a lot this is an ideal campground. If not, there are nicer campgrounds in the park. Spots are pretty close to each other, bathrooms were fine but not as clean as other campgrounds. No cellphone service for Verizon and AT&T.

A group of young teenage boys camped near us and kept everyone up until 2. Went over to ask them to be quiet, but didnt work. No ranger or camp attendant. If there had been one they would have heard. Camp site was well cleaned as were the bathrooms. Just no one in charge to keep the kids quiet

Gorgeous location right by the lake

The campground is very nice, the lake is stunning, the bathrooms were always very clean. This particular site isnt that great. Not the worst either. It is very close to the bathroom and to one of the trailheads. Its one of the furthest from the boat launch. Its not very private as theres a site directly behind you and its also very open to the road. You will see lots of people walking by. The next time I come here I will try to get a lakefront site. Those arent private either but at least you dont have to haul a kayak all the way to the boat launch. The campsites at the top of the loop (the furthest from the water) are the most private, if thats what youre looking for.

Wonderful location. Even has a bathroom close by!

Fires and evacuations in the area, they don't pick up the phone and still don't have the decency of refunding your money when you couldn't even access the road. Very disappointed in this facility

Pretty nice campground, though the campsites vary significantly, some are large and can accommodate a large and a medium tent, while others only have room for a medium (2 people) tent.Each spot has a table and a fire pit, though fires are no longer allowed. The sites next to the water are the ones to get if you have the opportunity, as you can enjoy views of the lake.There are plenty of potable water faucets and the toilets are nice and clean. Overall a very nice campground, with some beautiful views of the lake and some good hikes nearby.
@SadieB8005948 · Camped on Jul 22, 2024
Site was clean and nicely maintained. Quick walk to bathrooms and car port but not too close that it disturbs the scenery (you can hear the toilet flushing sometimes FYI!). There is a site directly in front that, if occupied, will block your view of the water.

No communication and struggle contact this and frustration because it was stuck and due wildfire. I cant get refund.

I had an issue with my reservation and was VERY grateful for the NPS ranger that called me and adjusted my reservation dates with me. I know this is the exception (and not the rule) and she went the above and beyond and this resulted in my trip - planned 6 months out - to be realized. Thank you so much NPS!! Beyond the service the campground is great, most sites shaded and water-adjacent sites coveted. Hike up the valley is gorgeous with old growth cedars, daily ranger programs at the amphitheater, and the nob trail, not to mention SUP/kayaking. If you have wetsuits, they worked well for our kids playing in the cold glacial water.

Very nice wooded campsite with easy access to the lake. Clean bathrooms with flush toilets, plenty of water spigots, easy parking.

Nice quiet campground. Sites were clean and well kept. Lots of shade on site 153, and only a small amount of slope. Short bike ride to the parking lot where there is excellent lake access. Ranger program every night at the amphitheater. VG experience.
@KristineGE3AE3 · Camped on Jul 7, 2024
Trees were pretty, by the water, there is a cool breeze at night, the hikes from the campground are beautiful, the only thing that would make it even better is a shower house!!
@KevinE9018417 · Camped on Jul 7, 2024
This campground is in a gorgeous location and site 88 was nice--direct access to the water, tent pad a little bit off the road, not too far from the water spigot and bathrooms (which were new, clean, and still cool in 90+ degree weather.) There are several great hikes right from the campground, and tons more a short drive away. The campground was filled with families having tons of noisy fun, but that's expected at a popular campground and everyone respected the quiet hours. This is an ideal spot for water fun and lots of people had kayaks, canoes and SUPs, which you can launch directly from site 88. Finally, the staff really put the "service" in National Park Service-there were crew members all over and they were super friendly and helpful. We'll return for sure!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
