Spring Canyon is in a grand setting with large, gorgeous views. The campground is up on the hillside and, of course, the Columbia, where we spent most of our time, playing in the River, is below. This meant a lot of climbing up and down.

Sites are very close together and when we were there mostly tenters that makes it hard for small RVs. There were too many tents and tarps on each site with many people- more than 8 at each location. Very loud after 10PM. We left after one night. Could not stand the noise.

This campground is a short walk from Lake Roosevelt, set on a hillside with mostly gravel sites and a few trees for shade. The campsites themselves are quite small and very close (directly contiguous with) other campsites, so be prepared for being close to your neighbors! The campground was also fairly loud and busy, with lots of RVs, generators, kids and general hubbub.

The Campground Host was in camp, but needed to be out circulating in the campground. They were never seen outside their camper. There were people riding ATVs on the roads that were causing a safety hazard and many tents on one site.

Campgrounds in upper area are very small. The sprinklers didnt turn on Friday night but on Saturday we got soaked while sitting and talking in the grass.

Spring Canyon is a lovely area with an outstanding beach. The campground itself was quite crowded, with campgrounds really packed in very close to each other; it almost felt like we were camping on top of our neighbors. Additionally, only a few of the campgrounds seemed to have flat areas for tents. We ended up pitching out tent on the gravel drive, as did many of the other campers there, as that was the only flat spot at the campground. There were water spigots around, but no one knew if the water was potable and the campground host was nowhere to be found to answer questions or address concerns. The only sure potable water was at an RV pump station that was pay per use. While I would certainly recommend visiting Spring Canyon, the camping experience was not what I hoped it would be. It was a very close-quarters camping experience and we should've brought our own water. That said, we still enjoyed our stay and loved recreating at the Spring Canyon beach.

We had a 29ft trailer and a full size pick up. It was difficult to get our trailer into the space. Even tho it said it could accommodate 30ft

Nice beach for lake recreation.

Really nice place to stay. The canopys in the upper campground were unusual but provide cover from the summer sun. Not so good for solar panels but provided great shade. Watch your overhead clearance. Excellent location for visit to Grand Coulee Dam.

Quiet and enjoyable. Nice and clean. I will be there again next year.

The "fair" rating has much less to do with the sites at Spring Canyon as it does my disapointment with what the experience of camping in campgrounds has become. It's just all bluetooth speakers and screens. I just wish people were quieter in general. But this feels like an unreasonable expectation on my part. Bathrooms were nice, the waterfront area is nice, i love all the orioles, and warblers.

Kids running around yelling like hooligans till 1 in the morning. Campsites not super suitable for tents. Unless you want to get hit by sprinklers. Camp host not available when needed. But its very close to the dam and we were happy to get a spot on short notice!

My stay was great. Its the second time Ive been there. It is very peaceful during the shoulder seasons. There were only three other campers there when I was there.

The scenery is beautiful, the park well maintained. My only suggestion would be to have a garbage receptacle at the campground during off season.

Campground full sign was up and had a feeling there were plenty of spaces available on a Sunday night and sure as heck there were.Nice place would stay there again.

When we arrived our site had no picnic table, because our neighbors had taken it. There were no camp hosts onsite during our stay. Maintenance came every day and kept the bathrooms very clean, although there isn't soap provided in the bathrooms. Sites are very close to each other, not much privacy from your neighbors. With no camp host there was no enforcement of quiet hours (10pm - 6am) and so we were kept awake all night by other noisy campers, even having to go to their campsite and talk to them ourselves when they started playing music at 5am (and had been loudly partying since before midnight). Aside from getting no sleep, the beach is very nice, and we had a great time kayaking/floating on the lake. There is an outdoor shower near the beach area.

We come every year during the first week of September. The weather has always been great. We love the beach. Lots to do around the Dam.

Date of Tent Camping: 27/28Aug2024Tuesday and Wednesday.I stayed at Lower Loop #13. Water Spigot in the Men's Restroom Leaking, seems like it's been leaking for a while. There is no Campground Host, maybe provide better amenities or services for them to make it appealing for them to host the place. There are trees, but might not be over your tent site, so you might get sun exposure. Bring an awning to put over the picnic table. It can get hot during the summer days.No privacy, sites are pretty close to each other.This place is good if you need a place to stay while visiting the Grand Coulee Dam. The restrooms were clean and well stocked.The upper loops is like parking your car or tent under apartment covered carports. I would not stay at the upper loop and if you have an RV or a trailer, your rig might not fit under the car ports. Make sure you're certain of your RV size and length.The beach and swimming areas are very nice. The swim platform was 4 feet exposed from the water since the river is low. But you can still enjoy the beach. Good for family and kids. They have nice walking trails. The sign at the front says campground FULL but there is MANY open spots.Please remove the sign to give campers a chance to look for availability instead of giving that we're full impression. If you want the campground occupied, remove that FULL sign before someone else remove it for you.The views from the lower loop of the river is awesome. This place is nice for the views. The whole area is nice, just be ready to be next to your neighbor. Go visit Grand Coulee Visitor Center, go on a power plant tour and go watch the laser show at night.I will be back to stay if I am ever in the area.

During our recent camping trip, we noticed a few concerns that we wanted to bring to your attention. There was no camp host onsite, which led to several issues. We encountered way too many wasps, causing our kids to eat in the car a few times. People were playing catch with their dogs, unleashed, between campsites, which made it challenging to enjoy our meals without worrying about flying balls or dogs. Additionally, people started talking out loud as early as 6 am, disrupting our sleep. Large group parties occupied half of the lower tent loop and were loud both in the morning and evening. Large RVs and motorhomes were parked on the lower tent level, running their engines for AC in the middle of the night and during the day. Teenagers were hanging around outside their tents until 1:30 am, talking loudly, laughing, and swearing. Despite these issues, we love this place for its water, beach, sand, nature, and wild animals. We have been coming to this campground since 2002, traveling from far away, which takes us at least 7-8 hours of driving straight, and sometimes up to 12 hours with our two little kids. We will probably come back again.

We love this campground because it has the best swimming beach. However there was no campground host this year and there was such a rowdy and obnoxious group of campers by us. They ruined our evenings with their loud drinking parties. I wish a ranger would have patrolled the area more to keep the peace.
@MURRAYS25949EC · Camped on Aug 4, 2024 at Campsite #42
We have been camping here for years, but if you dont like generator noise, this is not the place for you. Way to many people come with cheap loud generators that get left running all day unattended, and the generator hours are way to long.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
