Spring Canyon is in a grand setting with large, gorgeous views. The campground is up on the hillside and, of course, the Columbia, where we spent most of our time, playing in the River, is below. This meant a lot of climbing up and down.

Water was not on in the lower loop. Pit toilets hadn’t been cleaned recently. Grounds were nicely kept up.

I had a site closest to the lake in the Lower Loop. It was a hot afternoon when I pulled into my site with my Toyota Corolla and erected my cot tent. The single most wonderful thing about this late afternoon -overnight stay was the walking access down to the fantastic public beach access which definitely rivals many beach resorts! The beach area included designated large swimming areas, beach-going showers, fantastic picnic tables widely spaced, and views of the desert-dominated hills across the lake. Flush toilets and clean restrooms were a real joy! Thank you to the Park Service for such a great facility!

We have camped here before and have typically enjoyed it, but unfortunately, this time, there was no enforcement of the quiet time (after 10pm). We ended up with about 10 people next to us who decided that it was ok to be very loud after 10pm with lots of colorful language. We have 2 children and the campsite next to us had 3 young girls, who I'm sure didn't appreciate it any more than we did. Needless to say, we didn't get a lot of sleep. The site host was not helpful and seemed to be "lights out" after about 9:30, so even if we wanted to have them help they were unavailable. The beach area also allows for dogs - and there were many of them - so we had to watch where we stepped, sat, etc... due to people not cleaning up after their dogs.
