Lovely park, quite a distance to the campground from park entrance. Staff members were helpful and we enjoyed the displays in the visitor center. Sites range from expansive to pretty cramped. Our site was just right, close enough to restrooms and water source without being so close to Grand Central Station level crowds and noise from many, many tiny campers.

Most people come here for the weekend, so if you want a less crowded experience, the weekdays are better. You might want to pick a site close to the Comfort Station for the B sites since the comfort station for A section is out of commission. There are plenty of hiking trails and cycling is popular too. Sometimes you can hear distant gunfire from the marine reservation, but it is not too loud to be annoying.

Kids had a blast riding their bikes around the campground loops. Lovely signs of spring and a shaded and level site. Things were a little loud Saturday night (partyers until 12 and crying toddler from 1-2am) but Sunday night was quite nice.

Very nice campground. It is pretty far into the park, so a bit of a trek for things like ice.

We rented a camping site for one night just to do a good bbq, hung our hammocks and have a great time. Most sites were empty so we enjoyed the peace and quiet of this majestic forest.

Great stay. Clean bathroom facilities. It was nice and the bike trail looked great so next time we'll bring bikes.

Campground was clean. Restrooms were clean. The trails are very well kept and marked. You can easily get two tents per spot.

Great hidden away campground. Missed the entrance several times. Super bath house with heat and doors on the shower stalls. Convenient to the Marine Museum.

Very nice secluded camp sites, plenty of trails of many different lengths within a reasonable distance from the camp ground!

My friends and I have always enjoyed the park, both for hiking at the park and as a base to go to other Northern Virginia destinations, such as Riverbend State Park and Occoquan. Our only significant issues were the mens bathhouse being uncomfortably overheated, and one party who packed up and left rather noisily at 4:30 AM. I think they had a young child they couldnt comfort. The second is obviously not the parks fault.

i spent one night in midNovember in loop C in my campervan to see how a night of boondocking in the cold temps would be like. i found the experience peaceful and was glad to find trails leading from the campground. it was fairly quiet but for some noise from traffic and Quantico marine base. the bathrooms are dated but clean and functional. with my senior pass the rate was $13. the host was very friendly and helpful. there is no firewood for sale so one hqas to being their own locally sourced firewood

Beautiful Campsite! Sink clogged at the bath house for washing dishes but wasn't a game changer. make sure to bring plenty of wood or a hacksaw for the fallen dead wood. Will be coming back!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.
