Amenities were excellent - really appreciated the warmth in the bathrooms, as well as the ranger during on the sop kitchen for us. Nice, peaceful campsite

My friends and I have always enjoyed the park, both for hiking at the park and as a base to go to other Northern Virginia destinations, such as Riverbend State Park and Occoquan. Our only significant issues were the mens bathhouse being uncomfortably overheated, and one party who packed up and left rather noisily at 4:30 AM. I think they had a young child they couldnt comfort. The second is obviously not the parks fault.

The campground and campsite were very good. We had a wonderful time and had the campground to ourselves with sparse campers given we were there during weekdays. The bathrooms were clean and nice

Nice camping with large sites and privacy. The free firewood was an amazing plus as were the immaculate bathrooms with free hot water. I had brought my quarters.

Great campground for families or small groups of friends (in your covid bubble!). The facilities were spotless. Some of the sites on the B loop are pretty close together, so there isn't much in the way of solitude. Proximity to hiking trails is a huge plus. The trails in the northern end of the park are basically empty in the mornings (I think most people who come for day hikes start at the southern end). Overall, if you're looking for a fun car camping experience, this is a great campground, just don't expect to feel like you're in the wilderness.
