Its a beautiful area and a nice looking campground. People were very friendly there. We cut our visit short because the mosquitoes were terrible. The sites were a little overgrown and smaller than what was pictured on the website. 1 foot concrete columns lining the road, made it difficult to maneuver motorhomes into the site.

Theres a cute little snake that lives by the water spigot he is my bestie. There were some mosquitos in mid-July but nothing crazy, I got bit once or twice. The beach was really windy and spooky.

Expect background ATV noise, especially on weekends & holidays. If the wind is blowing in the right direction, you may not hear them a lot. Windy conditions sure help with mosquitoes since the campground is very near a still lake/wetland. Space 11 had enough shrubbery to make it somewhat private. The senior discount makes it a good deal for us, & we dont mind bringing our trailer with the water we use.

Nice fire pits with grilling option. Close to tons of outdoor activities.

A quiet and natural setting. Very clean and close to the dunes (4 minutes drive)

Beautiful spot and area. You can hear the OHVs during the day and most of the night but not loud. Bathroom was clean and the sites were mostly flat and groomed. Plenty of mosquitoes to contend with but that is life next to water. The DEET repellent did the job. Would visit again but would hope for a host on site.

I was sad to see no First Come First Serve sites available. Even for the No-Shows who lost their reservation. About half the sites were empty yet no more were available. My site, 13, was very narrow for my RV yet there was no way to for me to change without knowledge of when the vacancy was open. No host on-site to impose Forest Service Rules of No Shows losing site after 24 hr. No way to know periodic reservation. No Self Pay option. Site 13 is poorly trimmed. Recreation . Gov should also have a prorated booking fee based on nights purchased.

Great campground. Well-spaced camp sites. Walking distance from the beach.

Nice spots that are pretty private. Some a little close to neighbors but not many. Lots to do in the immediate area and little further out.

We spent 2 nights here, lots of mosquitoes! A couple of sketchy neighbors across from us we think living in a homemade tent They were loud and possibly high or intoxicated at 1 site, and an old camper that hasnt been moved for a long time. Neighbors next to us had stuff stolen from their site while gone for the day. The beach is beautiful about a mile walk from campsite. The parking lot by beach is actually another campsite filled with gung-ho dune buggy and dirt bike fanatics there to ride the sand dunes all day and night. You get use to the noise from that better than the high neighborhoods. Wouldnt stay here again.

Small, no frills, quiet campground, the mosquitos were really awful so plan accordingly.

We have stayed here many times. LOVE it, quiet, secluded, small, close to the Dunes (but you do have to trailer) clean and water is available.

Mosquitos were a menace but our family of 4 loved camping here!

The camground itself is good and the location is great. We tent camped and it was honestly a nightmare with mosquitoes. There was zero relaxing outside of the tent. We are no strangers to mosquitoes but these were on another level. A minimum of 12 on us at all times! Don't be like us. Bring a bug tent or camper!

Nice quiet campground without all the noise of the dune buggies, but be prepared for mosquitoes. Great, helpful, campground host.

The campground was quiet and location is beautiful. The sites are big and secluded from the other sites. The camp host is very friendly. The lake is walking distance from our site and there is an easy hike around Suttle Lake.

Quiet place. Nothing special. Men’s restroom didn’t lock and was out of toilet paper. However, I would return if we needed a place.

Great little campground in need of some TLC. No camp host yet or garbage cans and lots of down trees that need cleanup. Pretty quiet, the OHV area too distant to be intrusive.
The hike around the lake is lovely and we biked to Horsfall Beach which was great.

Was no volunteer camp ranger so camp grounds had not been mowed or trimmed, outhouse had toilet paper still but had not been cleaned. It wasn't bad, just over grown and dirty.

This campground was and has the potential to be, a very nice place to stay. Unfortunately, it suffers from neglect. We stay at a lot of USFS campgrounds, and it is apparent, most if not all, could use additional funding to insure their updating. Bluegill is no different. It looks to have been built at a time of campers and tents. Today's motorhomes and trailers have can be a tight fit. We are a couple of retired folks that travel with no specific destination in mind. As such, we do not know what the spaces are like at the campgrounds we visit prior to arriving. With no cell service we were forced to pick a site, travel back to the highway, make a reservation and return. The was no camp host. A payment box would be appreciated.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
