Great campground, well managed, clean, friendly host/staff and spacious sites.

The campsite is pretty and sites themselves are great but the camp hosts are unwilling to enforce the rules and the experience is not good. First night, we had a rowdy group playing music and talking loudly until past midnight. They "self-regulated" and apologized the next morning. Second night another loud group showed up. Playing music and chopping wood until after midnight. Camp host came and told them to be quiet. After the host left, the group went right back to it and continued for another hour. Host did not return. Then at ~5am they got in their cars and revved the engines because they had not prepared for the nighttime temperatures and needed to warm up. After two nights of noise, we decided to just pack up and leave a day early.The lake is beautiful, but there are bottles and bags and tangles of line and small plastic bait containers strewn all over the shore. Not even the fishermen appear to have any respect for this place.If you want a peaceful and uplifting outdoors experience, you won't find it here. Ride on, or ride home crushed.

The campground is very nice but we would not recommend booking this particular site. It sits right next to the bathroom with all its downwind smells hitting your picnic table. There's also no privacy between this site and the one directly next to it. (the other sites in Dorabelle do.)The neighbors in the site directly next to us were extremely loud past midnight. (at one point, the Camp Host came and asked them to quiet down and stop chopping wood after 10pm-- they ignored him on both fronts.)

Very quiet camping site, really spacious area with tons of shade, private with only one site across the road. Has space to tie a hammock to the trees. Settling in and out of the spot was easy didnt have to talk to staff the whole time. 5/5 stars will be returning.

Camp Ground Host was very rude and mean , wasn't able to listen to music during the day it had to be really low ,or the Host will come and complain saying it had to be phone loud doesn't make no sense never had a problem before other than that it was a good time

Campground was in really good shape. The camp-hosts were very friendly and helpful and allowed us to move to a better spot after arrival.My ongoing issue is with the reservation system. The campground was 90% empty, yet when making my reservation it showed as being mostly full. This scenario has been the same for every reservation that I have made over the last few years. People are abusing the reservation system, especially seniors with their lifetime passes. Gone are the days where you show up at a campground and pick your spot, first come first serve (FCFS). Maybe impose a $100 deposit which is fully refundable if a guest shows up for their reservation but is charged if they do not cancel at least 72 hours before. This is only a suggestion, but something needs to change in how camp spots are being offered.

2nd time to Dorabelle. Great campground. Being on the banks of Shaver Lake is amazing. Camp sites are well laid out, plenty of space and yet close to bathrooms and lake access. Would highly recommend.

Campsite was clean and host friendly. Love this campsite because it is close to water and seems a little more private since its smaller. The bathrooms were also clean

Site #44 was absolutely beautiful and such a great location. Not far from the trail down to the lake, literally like 5 min. Can't wait to book again.

The site was clean and walking distance to the lake! Pit toilets were kept clean. Better pictures of the sloped pad might have been useful for deciding on another site since the slope was not easy for backing into and up with a 25 travel trailer. The campground roads are super narrow and the reverse clearance with a tow vehicle was challenging. It would be nice to have a small dump station on site since Edison camp charges $40!!

Beautiful campground, lots of shade, nice and close to the lake, very mellow crowd. Caretaker was friendly and did a good job of addressing the fairly extra odoriffic toilets. There is cell phone reception here and it is very close to town.

This campground was beautiful, peaceful, and clean. The pit toilets didnt smell bad (!) and were cleaned daily. Our site was raked before we arrived and ready to set up camp! Folks quieted down by 10 and the mornings were mellow. The walk down to the lake was only about 5 minutes but the decline/incline was steep. People leave their shades structures, paddle boards, etc. on the beach overnight so finding a spot as a newcomer can be challenging. Overall a wonderful campground and we hope to return!

Great camp hosts, very clean facilities, many of the sites feel very private yet are close by other sites. Definitely going back in the future.
@JennyGAA06301B · Camped on Jul 17, 2025 at Campsite #56
This is a very loud and crowded campground with no real feel of being on the lake as there are no views and access is not close. It could probably be fun if you are camping with young kids or wanted to camp with several families, but if you enjoy camping for solitude and nature, this is not the place. It was clean and well maintained though.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
