Received a call that the campground was running low on water so we had to take all our water for dishes, drinking, etc.(I didnt mind that)but was not informed the bathrooms were not working, and Porta potties were provided. The first day on Friday was fine, but by Saturday afternoon, the porter potties were getting full. Super gross

This is a very nice campground if you have small kids as there is plenty of water for the kids to soak in.The only negative thing I could say, they had an issue with the water supply and all the toilets were closed. They did supply Porta Potties at each restroom but my wife is not too fond of those things. ( they did send me a text message a few days before our trip to inform us)Over-all, it was a very nice clean campground!

We love coming to Dinkey every year. I understand the restroom situation this time wasnt ideal but the staff were really welcoming and explain to us why. I really appreciated that. Cant wait for the next trip!

This was our first camping trip to Dinkey Creek and we are already planning another! It would be a 5 star review except that their was a closure of the bathrooms in the loops nearest our site. Jason and Justin of the staff were very good about updating us which we appreciated.They also provided info on things to see in the area, including the Incense Cedar tree that is over 600 years old, the historic sawmill, and the McKinley Grove. We could hear the sound of the Creek most places in the campground, and the night sky was beautiful through the trees.We liked that there is a small general store that has a kitchen serving great old fashioned burgers and other yummy items, be sure to visit for lunch.

For my first time camping I loved / disliked it only because of the space we were in the pictures were horrible you cannot tell that its up hill to get to your camp spot so I dont recommend that felt a bit like a waste of money because we put our tent by the car because the ground didnt seem leveled by the fire pit. the person in charge the first night when we checked in was great gave us a lot of great information which I appreciated . Overall Ill go back but probably to a different area of the campground.

Tightly packed sites. Good potable water, make sure you shop for food before arriving

The nature here is absolutely stunning peaceful forest, fresh air, and beautiful surroundings. Despite a few issues, I still enjoyed my time, mostly because of how quiet and untouched the area felt.My campsite (#50) was a hidden gem. Its spacious enough for 23 small tents and offers real privacy no one can see you, and you dont see others (expect site #39). I also liked the neighboring spot (#39), which seemed similar. However, many other sites offer much less space or are right next to restrooms, where people constantly walk by. Especially sites for RV. Unbelievable small. I'd highly recommend checking the map and choosing a spot carefully.Now to the downsides: the sanitation situation was pretty bad. The showers were closed without any clear explanation, and the nearby restroom had low water pressure and a non-working faucet. On the second day, it was closed completely. I didnt check every restroom in the campground, but the closest one was not functional though at least it was clean. Definitely bring your own water and prepare to be self-sufficient in terms of hygiene and washing up.I arrived in rainy, foggy weather, but the road was well maintained and safe if you drive carefully. The campground was very quiet, almost empty during my stay, which was perfect. Staff presence was minimal I only saw one employee on the first day, and she seemed fine, but there was no one else around afterward.Other quick notes:Every campsite has a strong fire ring and a good picnic table.No bugs or wildlife issues during my stay.I noticed many cut/burned trees around the area probably due to forest maintenance. If you're into campfires, you might be able to collect firewood nearby (I used propane, so I didnt try), but check the rules beforehand.In short: come for the nature, not the service. If the basic facilities were fixed, this place would be a near-perfect mountain getaway. Im still considering returning to explore more trails.

This experience was not so great this time around. The water was turned off and all bathrooms were locked except the vaultwhich are not the flushable ones. So with no working bathrooms and no running water for 4 days was a lil rough.

Wonderful forest setting with well spaced sites for a bit of quiet. Some offer terrific canyon views. Theres a small very convenient store just outside the entrance, a plus in this lightly populated corner of California, while Shaver Lake with its larger set of amenities is not terribly far west. Ill definitely be back.

There was supposed to be running water and flush toilets along with showers. None of the above was available and the water was shut off for the season. What a bait and switch. Very disappointed with the amenities at this campground.

Dinkey Creek Campground was very nice, clean and relaxing. The bathrooms were always kept clean and the rangers were very friendly. We were not advised of the showers not working during booking the stay but we were there for only 2 nights so it wasn't too bad.

Good campsite that's away from the other campsites nearby. Only problem was the amount of wasps that came around whenever cooking/eating. This was during the last weekend of September so the days were still warm. A canopy with a netting would have helped a lot.

I had the worst experience ever, there was no showers and on the description it said the showers are working, we havent shower for almost three days supposedly it was out of order due to season, and an employee named Jason was so rude to my dad yelling at him and screaming and cursing at him when he couldve learn some customer service by helping us instead of coming towards us aggressively my family full of kids had to see and hear this rude employee yelling at us. I do not recommend this campsite Theres no service, no showers, rude employees and its expensive. Ive camp on September 27-30,2024 and it was worst experience for me and my family. The worst thing was that employee Jason hes rude I still cant believe he yelled at my dad and curse at him and my dad didnt do anything but complain about the showers. What kind of campsite is this, Im going to a different site that has showers and good bathrooms Im not coming back here again EVER, nor the other people I suggest to move to a different site.

Lots of large groups camping and no enforcement of quiet hours. It was a competition between two sites on opposites sides of the campground as to who could blast their music louder, all of which started after 11:00 pm. We forfeited our second night.

usually love donkey creek, but this time it was such a horrible experience. when we got there someone was in our campsite and had to ask them to move. Then our camp neighbors walked up to our camp site at 6am insisting we give them coffee because we kept them up all night??? we were all asleep by 10. Then on our last night a couple campsites were being super loud and screaming laughing, and the camp manager came down to yell at me and tell me people complained about saying we were keeping everyone up. When we didnt, we had young children with us for 1 year olds to 5 year olds so we were all asleep by 9 and we told him what campsite was making all the noise and he was so rude and just being obnoxious, and was telling us he could cute us for that and told him to prove that it was us being loud and who complained because it was false and he couldnt prove it was us. overall a terrible experience. on top of that the rangers were always passing by telling us we were going to get cited if we had an trash in the floor and we didnt. DONT GO also there are so many wasps that are there literally probably about 100 wasps just around us and two of our family members got stung!!!!! so bad

Beautiful 3 days in Dinkey Creek! The grounds and toilets were immaculate.. which was surprising since I arrived the day after the Labor Day holiday. Check in was easy. Friendly reception at the booth.

Had a great time at Dinkey Creek. Bathrooms cleaned regularly, quiet hours respected by other campers, no bears sighted. The proximity of the creek was a nice addition to cool off midday.

I thought that the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the guys who were cleaning the restrooms. They gave us free wasp traps because there was wasps everywhere. They also were very knowledgeable about the campground and surrounding areas.

I reserved site 47 and 46. I read before site 47 was one of the best, but I found site 46 to be great. There's enough room for 6 tents. Each of my kids like their own. Lol also next time I plan on reserving 45 and 46. They are much closer together and would be great! Only bad issue is the people across were summer loud at midnight.

The place and environment were amazing! There is a nearby restroom, the campsites are clean, restrooms are clean, there is a creek nearby to swim, a few fishing spots, and hiking trails.There is no connection up there what so ever, I have Verizon. It is nice and quiet. Me and my family, will visit again in the future!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
