We stay annually at Bass lake with 3 other families, but first time at Forks campground. We loved having the lake view and easy access to a beach area. Our sites were adjacent to the main road but the trees and shrubs helped block the noise and gave privacy. Appalled at how fast people drive on the narrow winding road. Host was very friendly, sites and bathrooms were well kept.

After checking in, we were told there has been an active mama bear and cub in the campground. Not concerning on its own but we were told by the host that this bear has been opening cars and RVs and there are no bear boxes. Apparently this bear was enough of a concern that they had traps out and were trying to capture and relocate the bears. However, our site was at that back of the campground against the woods and these traps were located in the middle of the campground. Im not able to predict the behavior of a wild animal so we did not stay.

The campsite is quiet, the pitch we were on was so steep that we couldn't use the kitchen sink which couldn't drain. The bathrooms in the upper part were few and there was always a queue, but they were clean

I and my family have camped at the Forks campground many times, and have always had a pleasant experience until our visit last month from June 15 - June 19. A group of us were there for the week in separate sites. When we checked in, the camp host made us aware that there had been a lot of bear activity, and to take the necessary precautions....which we did. Unfortunately, despite all precautions, a mama bear and cub attempted to break into our trailer the first day as we were setting up camp. They were not easily scared off, and it was unnerving. We alerted the camp host at that time. The next day, the bears attempted to break in again while we were not there. There was not a lot of damage, just screens shredded and some paw scratches. My daughter's family were in a site just down the hill, and the bear(s) were able to break into their trailer, causing considerable damage. The camp host was again notified about both incidents. On the next to the last day, (Wednesday), we returned from the lake to find that the bear(s) had succeeded in breaking into my trailer. It was a mess, but miraculously there was only minor damage. Again, the camp host was made aware, and we asked her if anything was being done about it...was the Forest Service notified? Fist and Game? Why doesn't the campground have bear boxes to store food if there is that much activity? We were told that (I believe Fish and Game) would be there the next day to capture and relocate the bears. Unfortunately, our group of campers were so rattled by the experience, that we packed up as quickly as possible...a day early. I don't know where the blame lies....The Forks, the Forest Service, Fish and Game? I don't usually leave reviews, but this time I felt compelled to. Luckily, my trailer didn't sustain major damage, and is in the shop as I write. My daughter's trailer did not fair so well...it has much more damage than mine. I hope it improves before something worse happens.

This campground was excellent. It was very clean, the bathrooms were well taken care of. I don't remember her name but the lady running the site was very nice and helpful. The only issue I had was my site had no shade during the hottest part of the day, so definitely bring a pop up canopy.

Carmen kept the campground in spectacular condition. The site and bathrooms were very clean and she was so nice. The campground was quiet.

Quiet. Great site. One comment is lack of water in campsites and garbage way down at bathrooms. Must be those bears

This is a jewel we didnt expect - we had a long drive from our house to Yosemite, and rather than drive straight through and arrive late (and in some darkness), or leave crazy early to make sunset, we opted to hit a campground close to the south entrance, stay one night, and leave in the morning to explore the entry to Yosemite and more casually head to Upper Pines campground, after mapping the trip out, I found Forks to be super convenient, so we headed there for the first night. We arrived after sunset, so it was dark, but we could see we were close to Bass Lake, so we were excited to wake up to the area. Campsite was well paved, very level, and really nice. After waking up, we hiked around a little, walked to the Forks store and restaurant, and had a great breakfast on their deck! We liked the area so much that we stopped on the other side of the lake on our drive home to have lunch on the deck at Duceys, and enjoy the lake view. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone, even if youre not heading th Yosemite. Beautiful lake area with lots to do!

The grounds and bathroom were well maintained by staff personnel (Carmen was on duty the time we were there). We appreciated the fire ring and picnic table. There were lovely views of the the lake.It seemed like such an amazing stay for being in the National Parks system as the little town and the lake were a convenient short walk from the site.A drive partially around the lake revealed other small communities and shops. Note: there is no convenient access to completely go around the lake.

Nice quiet park on the lake. Site 8 was full sun and got very hot during the day. Forks has basic flush toilets and water taps, no showers. We went to Millers Landing for $5 shower tokens.

It was 94 degrees and excellent! Bears in the area...but friendly and excellent. Always rent a pontoon boat and go fast! And eat at the Forks Restaurant Nextdoor...best hamburgers in the world. We love Forks campground and it has great views of the lake.

Great location only down side is being near the street and no shade trees. Not great if you have toddlers. Bathrooms amazingly clean. Our host Carmen was on top of it.

This campground was awesome. Each site is clean and well maintained. The camp host, Carmen, and her daughter were so kind and hospitable. The bathrooms were always clean and well stocked. There is a general store and lake access just down the road which was so convenient. We will definitely be back!

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
