After checking in, we were told there has been an active mama bear and cub in the campground. Not concerning on its own but we were told by the host that this bear has been opening cars and RVs and there are no bear boxes. Apparently this bear was enough of a concern that they had traps out and were trying to capture and relocate the bears. However, our site was at that back of the campground against the woods and these traps were located in the middle of the campground. Im not able to predict the behavior of a wild animal so we did not stay.

Our site was beautiful and surrounded by nature. Camp hostess is very efficient and keeps the sites and bathrooms nice.

Weather a bit cool, lake was very pleasant temperature and the camp sites were not real busy this year. We had a very nice time.

We stayed in campsite 19. The spot was very private and week kept. There are Yellowjackets that come out when cooking so be prepared. The camp hosts were extremely friendly.

Check in process was easy and made us feel safe knowing random people do not have access to campground. Bathrooms were wellaintained and clean. Loved every but of it. The individual that checked us in was very informative, friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed the campground

I would give this campground a 5/5 if it were not for the swarms of mosquitos we encountered. They were relentless during the daylight hours, mostly at dusk, at the time you'd want to make dinner, enjoy sunset, and have a fire. Otherwise this campsite was great. #19 provides more privacy than any of the other spots in this campground. I saw spots 26-28 have a great view of the water, which was absolutely beautiful at sunrise. The camp host was very friendly and informative. We saw no bears to my relief. This campsite was about 45 min from the south entrance of Yosemite. If not for the mosquitos, I would recommend this campground to others. Maybe it will be better in the dryer summer months regarding this.

We spent a couple of nights at Forks Campground, in mid-August 2021. We stayed at site #19 - while this site has no view of the lake, it is great for people like us who like a little bit of privacy and don't like camping directly next to others (other sites at this campground are like that). There are some steps to walk up but it was a very lovely and clean site, backing up to the woods and big enough for a six-person tent plus a 2-person tent. The one problem was that as soon as we brought our meaty food out (bacon, fish) the yellow jackets were just relentless. We wound up walking to the Forks Resort for dinner one night because we couldn't take the yellow jackets anymore. (Very convenient to have this little store/restaurant so closeby!) I highly recommend bringing a screened-in popup to put over the picnic table. Also, the toilets and water spigot are a little bit away from site 19; I also recommend bringing water jugs to carry your dishwashing water from the spigot to the campsite. Next time we will stay longer to try the hiking trail. We spent our days at the lake and rented a pontoon boat at Millers, about 10 minutes drive away. Overall, Forks was a very nice campground, I very much recommend!

Awesome campground for the sites away from the road. The sites next to the road have a lot of street noise. Many of the pine trees have been removed for safety after they died. Lots of places with little shade due to that. The cleanest restrooms we have ever experienced when camping. Delightful camp hosts!

Kind of isolated site, we like the quiet and peace that goes with it.
Bathrooms were clean and the grounds were well kept.
