We loved our stay here! The location is amazing, very close to general grant. I would say be careful of mosquitoes at this one being next to the creek they get kinda bad so be prepared! Some camp sites are better than others as far as being on a slant, or being close to the road. It was our first time here but id definitely be back! Serena our camp host was amazing! Always has wood and answered all our questions

We had a great experience at Big Meadow Campground. It was clean and very peaceful. We stayed at site #29, which was by a small creek. The camp host was so friendly, and firewood was available for purchase. We plan to revisit this campground!

Big Meadow is a wonderful camping option to disconnect, enjoy the natural beauty of the Sequoia's without the glam camping crowds.

Great spot. Surrounded by beautiful trees. Very quiet. Shout out to the host being absolutely amazing. The only downside was the mosquitoes. Almost ate us alive.

Beautiful area, two negatives are loud music from other sites and sites are too close together. We did enjoy our stay but the music situation needs to be addresses and policed.

Best campground host I've ever encountered! Would give 10 stars if I could

Our campsite in Big Meadows, 001, was excellent. It was clean and spacious, with plenty of room to set up our three tents. We enjoyed interacting with the camp host, Serena. She was friendly and helpful. We'd camp at Big Meadows again.

A unique gem. The spaces are generally large and spread out. Bathrooms are really spread out but generally quite clean.

Site 33 was by itself and right next to the creek. Quiet at night. Big enough site for two tents. The dogs loved it, I loved it. The camp hosts were great. Recreation dot gov doesn't exactly tell you how the sites are laid out, but in my opinion sites 32 and up are the best.

Beautiful place, but the insane amount of mosquitos when we were there makes this a hard pass for me. It might be better to just do dispersed camping along the forest road that leads to this campground.

The layout of the campground is such that it can never be crowded. It was very clean and quiet.

Its a buggy time of year!! We kept the fire going in order to stay outside. Great proximity to Buck Rock lookout, we off-roaded to the top at sunset and walked halfway up the steps. Great views. The bathroom at the campsite was very clean. We could hear the creek running all night, but couldnt visualize due to tall grasses. This site could only fit one tent off the road, not very big.

Too too many mosquitoes and hard to navigate location
@AshleyH5737268 · Camped on Jun 7, 2025 at Campsite #11
Pleasantly surprised by this campground! Didnt see too many positive reviews prior with many saying that the bathrooms were really bad and they wished they had just stayed in the dispersed camping outside of the campground on the same forest service road. The campground was really quiet, the bathrooms werent too bad at all, the host was super nice, and the spaces were fairly large. The only downsides we experienced were there were quite a few mosquitoes and no water spouts in the campground. My takeaways were that if you are camping on the weekend, I would recommend booking a spot in the campground because the dispersed camping (50 spots) on the 4 mile forest service road going into the campground do fill up. But if you are camping on a weekday, there will definitely be tons of spots available. We arrived on a Saturday night and left Monday with tons of spots available on Monday. Also there is one water fill station in Grant Grove Village about 10 min out of the way if you are entering the park from the north west side.

Such a beautiful and remote location. Site 32 is extra remote, so theres a bit of a walk to a nearby pit toilet (just a heads up!), but our campsite had access to a peaceful creek and wonderful tree coverage. Good location in the sequoia national forest, close to both sequoia national park and kings canyon park and a gas station at stony creek. Camp host was friendly and had firewood for sale. We hope to be back!

Lovely Campsite, the spaces were spread out nicely. The camp host was great and it was a great central point for exploring both Sequoia and King Canyon.
@WilliamH158481 · Camped on Sep 22, 2024 at Campsite #1
Site 1 was big and great. Other sites are less desirable. Signage for the campground as a whole needs to be upgraded. It was difficult to find site#1. I had to ask the camp host for directions. I will return to site 1.
@DavidH4978786 · Camped on Sep 14, 2024 at Campsite #29
It was really quiet. There were not a lot of people there so I got to really relax and enjoy the forest. Would definitely go again. Cant wait.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
