We had a level area to pitch our tent, picnic table and a fire ring.

Our family was unprepared for this campground as we entered from the Fresno side. The western entrance was closed for the day so we were not able to obtain a map. We did not realize there was permit only cooking in addition to campfire. The site was large and accommodated our tent nicely, but we had to rely on water we brought in and large amounts of bug repellent being close to standing water.

Space 25 was a great spot next to the creek. Mostly shady in the morning and evening. It did get sunny around 11am. I had a portable solar panel that I set up across the road in the morning. We did not spend all day at the campsite but if you did you have plenty of sun if you have solar panels. This site felt secluded and we only had one neighbor the first night. Definitely will rebook this site in the future.

Love Big Meadows campgrounds! Very peaceful and quiet. Especially enjoy the sound of the wind blowing through the trees. Can do without the mini swarms of Yellowjackets when preparing your meals, but we made it without getting stung, so thats a good thing. Best to have a netted canopy to prepare and eat your meals. Big Meadows is nice and secluded, away from all the main tourist attractions, but still a short drive to them. Had deer visit the campsite for the first time too! Just a great area to set up a tent or drive up in an RV and relax!

Please note that there are no potable water resources at this campsite. Remember to bring your own water, as the creek water is not advisable, even with filtration (high rust content)

Was a perfect secluded camp area where we were not super close to other campers. It is a 30-40 min drive away from the main attractions like Sherman Tree and Moro Rock, but besides that, no complaints. The stars were beautiful at night.

Loved Big Meadow campsite! We had an oversized site that was more than big enough for our three tents/ 6 campers. It was so nice to find that each site has a large metal "bear box" for food/ drink storage, an oversized fire pit with built in cooking grill grate, and a large sturdy picnic table. Many different forest animals came up to the site each night, which made it even more exciting. Several miles away, in the Giant Forest, we actually walked up on a mama bear with two cubs while hiking. The millions of stars in the night sky are indescribable. It was an amazing camping trip!

Love this campground. It is in between Lodgepole and Cedar Grove so the activities are endless
