Round Mountain Campground is located in the South Park Ranger District, Pike and San Isabel National Forests (1 hr 10 min west of Colorado Springs, CO) with an elevation of 8,548 feet. There are a total of 15 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to mid October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 20 and 30 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $20.00 per night. Activities include biking, fishing, hiking trails, rock climbing.

We love Round Mountain. The only thing I would change is the placement of a few of the large boulders to make it easier to back in your RV in a few of the spots. Kieth is always a great guy and keeps the place so clean!!

This campground is so clean and beautiful. Campsites are pretty close together, but we had an excellent time with our party of 10 including 5 small kids who had a blast. Plenty of places for kids to run and explore without being in anyones way or in other campsites. Host is extremely helpful. You can hear the highway at night. 2 bathrooms for each men/women and water and trash available. My family wants to come back again.

Great location that gave us easy access to trails, National Monument and Cripple Creek! Bathrooms are composting bathrooms and there is well supplied water pump at the entrance to the campground. Full cell service on T-mobile and Mint Mobile.

Nice big spacious campsites, clean bathrooms. Easy distance to town and fishing sites.

The campground is well maintained by a host that stays on the site. Bathrooms are clean and water tastes good. The campground is on level ground, and while RV camping is allowed at all campsites, some sites are not good for larger RV trailers or motorhomes (ex: #9).

Great spot, lucky to find a weekend reservation just a few weeks in advance! I was initially 'disappointed' to find this site was one next to the toilet, but it was very clean and didn't smell. This site ended up being great! Spacious and open with plenty of shade and with a nice view of Pike's Peak. The friendly host came by each morning to check the condition and clean. Will definitely look to come back!

Easy access from the highway. Most sites had plenty of space for tents (of all sizes) and most sites had at least some shade.

Site #4. Very nice campsite and campground. Clean site and clean restrooms. All sites seem nicely spaced so you are not on top of your neighbors. Next to the water pump but not much traffic due to it being such a small campground. No cell service (verizon) for duration of stay.

Reservations were for the first week of October. Campground was clean and nice. Campsites are nicely spaced apart. Used the campground as a home base. Close to Eleven Mile, Eleven Mile Canyon and Dreamstream. Very good cell coverage with T-Mobile. I will be back.

This campground is perfect for a quick get-a-way from Colorado Springs. Quiet campground with a few amenities that make camping a bit easier. The host was incredibly friendly and the grounds were in great condition. This is my group's third year camping here in the fall with beautiful golden aspen leaves and easy hikes nearby.

A little close to the highway, can hear cars driving by- but a good location between mile eleven canyon and reservoirs, and the fossil monument. Camp site was large and spacious with tree cover

Our campsite was very nice. Shaded. Good, level spots to put up tents. The bathrooms (vaults) were very clean, smell was fine. Camp host Mel was awesome! Very helpful in all matters (water, firewood, and even jump started our vehicle). Really beautiful surrounding areas. 11 mile canyon is gorgeous, and the Platte River Trail hike is rewarding as long as you go the full distance.

When we arrived around 6-7pm, our campground was taken by a two seniors. They said host gave the campground to them. But we made the reservation. They didn’t want to move and host was not there. Since it’s dark, we have to share the campsite to that two persons.

Camp host drove around the loop in a noisy truck.
Campers from the open space were using the dumpster and restroom leaving a mess. The Camp host did nothing to prevent this.
Guest of Round Mountain pay for these amenities and outside people were allowed to use the facilities for free. Restroom used to be kept clean, it wasn't cleaned one time while we were there. Very dissatisfied, The camp host site was a mess, their camper looked like it had a tarp for a roof.
Just not the quality type of campground we prefer. Don't get me wrong, the campsite has been amazing over the years but a change in camp host, for the worse, has lowered the standards.

Host Keith was amazing. We forgot a rain tent so he gave us his extra tarp to use. He gave us hiking suggestions and alternate routes home. Site was super clean and surprisingly quiet. Next time we will definitely bring SUPs.
