Nice spacious campsite, site 34 is a little bit of a walk from the restroom (vault toilets), but next to a little trail that goes to the riverside which is quiet and secluded.There are no sinks or washing stations, but you can drive a few mins to get water from the pump and bring it back to your site.

Large open campsites. Double spots are great for families. Great spot on river for kids to play. We didnt notice many bees or mosquitoes. Have to be aware of bears in the area so keep food put away.

My wife, 4 month old baby and I arrived at the site we reserved at 3 pm only to find a family already set up in our spot. Our name was not written on the reservation sign. After speaking to them we learned that they spoke to the site host and received permission to camp there. With my reservation confirmation in hand I went to look for the site host. The site host had a sign at there trailer system off duty which was useless. After an hour of waiting we gave up and went to a different camp site which was first come first serve. Non mention of a refund

Shady quiet campground with easy access to swimming holes and hikes

Site 13 does not have a picnic table.

Excellent campground. Good site spacing. Lots of trees and shade. Lots of river access. Be aware that there is bear danger. A bear did visit our campsite during our stay. All but 1 of the water stations was out of order during our stay.

We had exceptional weather for our trip to Salmon La Sac, one of our favorite Forest Service campgrounds. Highly recommended: the round-trip nine-mile hike to Pete Lake, which is on a mostly flat trail. You'll have to drive to the trailhead (I think it was six miles total) but well worth it. Beware the mosquitoes.

We have been coming to Salmon la Sac for 40 years. It is definitely out favorite place to enjoy nature. Even with the numerous changes over the years, e.g. no running water, no electricity, no flush toilets, etc. we keep coming back. Our only complaint is the reservation system. It is nearly impossible to reserve a spot during the summer. But if you put in the hours, you can do it. The very frustrating thing though is when you're there and some prime spots remain empty ALL WEEKEND. Such a waste and so unfair to those of us who do the right thing and cancel if we're not going to use our spot so someone else can enjoy this beautiful place. Sad. I'm also wondering if they did cancel but the Reserved signs aren't being updated?

Salmon La Sac is a beautiful campground. We really enjoyed our site on the Cooper River. We highly recommend the Cooper River trail to Cooper Lake! Sadly, the campground is impacted by budget and staffing cuts to the Forest Service. Only one host serves this large, 69-site campground. We did not see the host until the last morning of our three-night stay and never saw Forest Service personnel. When the host is off duty, there is no one to check and maintain the vault toilets. There was no toilet paper, garbage was overflowing the small bin in the toilet, and it was not cleaned for three days. If you camp here, bring your own t.p.!

The campsite is right on the river. We woke up both morning's to deer, right across from us. Plenty of trees and sun if needed. I will pick this site again, in the future.

The bench to the picnic table was missing on one side, so we could not use it for everyone in our party as we had planned. This was a problem at mealtime, and I am hoping at least a portion of the camp site fee will be refunded. Also, one of the two bathroom doors (mens room) had the door handle missing and so one could not lock the door. Therefore, everyone (both male and female) in the area had to use the female restroom. This should be easy to fix for the camp host.

Amazing campground. I camped here as a kid and now bringing my own family here 30 years later. Wonderful place to disconnect and enjoy nature.

The campsite is right on the river. There are two tent pad locations, both relatively level. The picnic table is wonky and out of level, i would have preferred a different site just for this. The Host is amazing, the bathrooms are super clean and are not smelly at all. The site itself was clean and the location near the river perfect. when I go back, I will try for either #43 or #10 for location to the river plus consistent shade.

Salmon La sac is an amazing place to visit this place offers an incredible blend of beautiful scenery and vibrant wildlife. The campground is situated between 2 beautiful rivers which has lots of Salmon.Unfortunately these was only one water pitch.

After a horrible experience at Wish Poosh two weeks prior, Salmon La Sac was so great. Site 44 is one of the best sites there. The camp hosts were friendly, the sites and toilets were clean.

#42 campsite is the most serene, peaceful closest to earth you can be. We reserved this spot for our 4th Anniversary. This will be my favorite spot. We will definitely be coming back yearly. Thank you Salmon La Sac

Loved the sites, quiet and private. Wish you would post which water pumps work at the reader board upon arrival. Everybody was asking each other, and some responses were there is not potable water in the campground.

We LOVED our weekend at Salmon La Sac Campground. We got site 44 next to the Cooper river and it was lovely relaxing to the sound of the river and dipping our paws in when it was warm. The site is very sunny. If you’re staying in this one, bring your pop up tent if you have one. 44 wasn’t the most private but not terrible.
Site 43 looked fantastic but there isn’t a ton of privacy between 43 & 44- would be good to book these two neighboring sites if you’re going with a group but there are other sites in the campground that would fit a huge group without booking multiple sites (eg site 36).

We had trouble finding drinking water. There are no maps around the campground which was weird.
There are hand crank well pumps but sparsely located around the campground. The closest we found was next to site 56. The water came out… not the clearest so we opted to stop by “the last resort” convenience store down the road to buy extra drinking water (but I’m sure the water is fine).
Pit toilets were clean. Camp hosts were friendly.

There were NO mosquitoes which was fantastic.
As others have reported, there are bears in the area- I’ve never seen a bear trap before but they had one set up near sites 31/32. (Photo added)

The swimming holes were pretty crowded the weekend we went (2nd weekend of August) so we went down to lake Cle Elum. We were too nervous that we’d get stuck driving onto Speeyli beach so we drove to the wishpoosh boat launch to go swimming. The lake is down to 20% capacity so the boat launch is closed but we parked there and walked .3 miles to the water and had a beach all to ourselves for a few hours!

There is a ton of dispersed camping in the area if you don’t snag a site.

We really really loved this campground and will be back. I almost want to gatekeep but I also know how much this type of review helps me when planning. I love knowing exactly what specific sites look like and I wish everyone would share a few photos or videos of each specific site because the recreation.gov photos don’t help much.

We did not have any cell reception (T-mobile), but did have service at Wishpoosh.

Road in good condition. We were in a Tesla. Most sites had long driveways suitable for RVs and trailers.

Happy camping!

I had a great stay here, the camp host did an excellent job keeping the sites clean and keeping campers aware of bear activity. Good swimming holes for the kids.

The campground was quiet and relaxing on Sunday through Wednesday but became pretty noisy over the weekend. Our site was well-shaded and we had lots of privacy between us and our neighbors but sites by the river was situated closer to each other. The location of the campground with access to both the Cle Elum and Cooper rivers was ideal during a hot summer day.

The campground needs to do something about the bears.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
