Nice quiet site by the creek

Nice sized but 64 is definitely a bit smaller than 65. Lots of people walked through to go to the bathroom which was a little scary at night. Otherwise we loved our time

Nice sized camp spots, not too far from the lake

We enjoyed the location, had good space for two cars to be parked, a large tent to be setup, had flush toilets and nature was amazing!

What is up with the flies in the vault toilets?? Every single toilet (and we checked several throughout the campground) was like something out of a horror movie- literally pouring out of the toilet itself. This really encourages unhygienic practices of using nature instead of the vault toilets and its no wonder we saw wadded up used toilet paper all throughout the surrounding woods. Please fix this, or at minimum hang some fly paper!! We will not return!!

Reserved a site in Gale Creek loop, during the week. The site was not big enough for my RV, even though the website claimed I would fit. The site was also very rocky and uneven. Also, there were people from the day use area parking in that space when I arrived. I had to ask them to move before I could even try to get in it. Luckily the camp host came by and offered to move us to a different loop (I was going to meet with family in Gale Loop the next day), and led me to the Beargrass Flat loop which had several larger spaces unused during the week. Had it been a weekend reservation I would not have been able to stay, since the campsite was incorrectly measured. Don't know what I'd have done in that case. Gale loop is generally too small for most rigs longer than 24 feet, so don't be fooled by the site measurements.

We have many happy memories from past years but now the lake is just a trickle and mud pit, our camphost took off one night at sunset leaving his tank of grey water behind and neighbors decided to start a huge fire during burn ban. The trash, the flies in the pit toilet, the threat of burning alive with unbridled camper behavior. I can't return. Very sad.

It's heartbreaking to see how this campground has gone so down hill. We've come every year for nine years now and I think we need to find a new tradition. My kids have learned to embrace the mudpit that used to be a lake and we don't complain about the droves of flies in the outhouses or disrepair of the plumbed bathrooms. What broke me this year: 1. Our campground host was super grumpy when we asked him to tell people squatting in our reserved site that they needed to move. 2. Same host cleared his campsite (except for his grey water tank, which he decided to leave behind) and moved out one night. 3. That night the campers next to us decided to have a bonfire. In August. While another wildfire was already burning through the county. Clearly there was a burn ban in effect. I was worried about the ability for us all to evacuate if the fire spread and I just can't go back in good conscience.

Overall a nice late-summer stay, even though the water level of the lake itself was really low (nd I knew that coming in so not surprised). My campsite was of good size and had a nice firepit and picnic table, with rustic restrooms nearby. Unfortunately someone who used the site before me left soiled toilet tissues in areas surrounding the campground, so I had to take it upon myself to pick them up. Ick. The family in the site next to me lit a small fire despite the ongoing (and well-posted) burn ban. The folks staying across from me decided it was a good idea to let their kids ride mini-bikes around the campground around the 10 p.m. curfew. Late-arriving campers on the other side made sure everyone heard them as they were settling in, I think around midnight. Signage letting people know that the bridge at the Little Kachess Trailhead is out was non-existent, but we forded the river and did the hike anyway, which was very nice. I also kayaked up the Little Kachess Lake quite a ways and that was a peaceful, scenic experience. Next time I go will be in late spring or early summer when the lake's water level is hopefully higher.

Kachess is a nice campground albeit a bit full when I was there. Sites were clean but it would be nice if you could drive your vehicle all the way into the site especially when you camp in a van as I do. I was unable to utilize the picnic table as it was not in close proximity to where I was able to park. The water was very low in the lake but I was able to do some nice hikes with my dogs despite that. Great place for a one night stop while traveling.

Nicely maintained facility with lots of shade at the campsite. Close to the Lake and creeks.

We had a great time at the Kachess campground. There were some drawbacks because of the timing of our visit, nevertheless we had a great time. No fires were allowed at the time. We are disappointed that the water level of the lake is so low, but that is a fault of nature which no one is responsible for. It didn't stop us from swimming and boating and doing some things which would not be possible with higher water.

This is a very busy campground. Every day from 3 to 5 cars passed my campsite continuously, almost like a freeway. The sites were beautiful but previous campers left waste on the ground all over. At night, campers were noisy so I had to wear my earplugs to get to sleep. Amazingly, a ten minute walk away and there was wonderful, beautiful Lake Kachess with almost no one on it. I couldn't believe that it was so quiet and so uninhabited. Quite a contrast!!!!!!!

Camp host was notified of a campfire (during stage 2 ban) directly across the road, and the decided to go back to sleep. Only after multiple attempts and taking matters into my own hands was it handled. Lake was really low, boat launch closed. And campground was super packed, with folks camping in non-sites. Poor management.

We stayed one night on our way from Spokane to the Olympic Peninsula. Campground was clean, host kept to themselves, it wasn't very busy due to being a weekday. It was first week of August and the lake was down quite aways, steep banks and pretty muddy.

Beautiful campground. The lake was a highlight to spend the day with the kids. Great just walking around the whole campground. We clicked just over 3 miles walking through each loop.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
