Windy but it comes with the territory. Great proximity to fishing and beach access

This is the 2nd time I have booked here. I do have some complaints. First only half of the parks grass was mowed and of course where we were was not mowed so it was prob 5-6 inch tall. Then the ants, they were all over our camp site and table area. I called the office and they stated they would send someone during our 3 day stay no one ever came. I even asked the park rangers but they could not help. I the positive, the camp area was busy so Im happy people are camping. Be away of the flys, we brought a big net to play games in.. it was a life saver. No open flames in the camp area but allowed on the beach is a weird rule I dont understand. Over I will come back but I hope they do better maintenance.

One of the best things about this quiet campground is that you cant reserve it more than 5 days out. That really helps keep spots available for folks from North Carolina.

Fantastic National Parks campground sites are long but a tad narrow we were in a 38 class A motorhome and it was a challenge to get into the site, but we did. Lots of space between the sites no hookups but have unheated showers and flush toilets. Great site and we will definitely be back. Thanks

Excellent. After leaving camp Park Ranger contacted me about equipment I left behind and got it back to me.

Late April. Close to bathroom and shower. Close to The Point fishing. But we didn't stay and even up paying extra and camp at Frisco instead. Our tent was infested with biting flies and other bugs that we couldn't even enter our tent. The toilets were infested with bugs that we couldn't even use. The shower had massive tree frogs and bugs too. In October we didn't have this much issues. Definitely not recommended during Spring or Summer. Fall and Winter ok.

This is a huge campground but but its difficult to book it because the inventory often seems to not be released until a couple of days ahead the current date. The campground was nicely mowed, the sites had picnic tables on nicely edged concrete slabs. The camping sites had paved stubs for each site and some of the sites were a bit on the wet side if you're planning to tent. No electricity and no hookups. The bathrooms were clean but the showers are cold water only. There are a few fresh water hydrants but not a lot. There is a fresh water hydrant and dump station on the road leading to the campground. The campground while near the beach is still a deceptively long walk to get too. No hosts but Park Rangers did patrol. There's a lot of through traffic on the outer loop both directions for cars passing through to the beach access (beach access by car requires permit).

Paige was a wonderful host! She checked on us after the storm, and even greeted us at our campsite at Oregon Inlet days later. She's lovely and a real keeper!

Positives: Great location. Bathrooms were clean. Relatively short walk or bike ride to beaches. Sites were well maintained and mowed. Showers available. Fish cleaning station with dumpster near entrance. Negatives: Showers are not heated, limited number of water hydrants, no electric sites, no trees at all (which is actually good if you have Starlink). Biting bugs even in November. Lots of beach access traffic at all hours of the day strangely especially if you are camped in first loop.

Warning: it is very windy! Otherwise, this was one of the nicest most gorgeous campgrounds I've ever stayed at. Flat, perfect view of the sky, and big generous lots at a fair and generous price. We came all the way from Canada and got engaged at Cape Point so this place means a lot to me... Maybe someone could reach out from the parks service if they know where I can get a magnet to commemorate this trip!

Great place to stay and close to the OSV access point to the point. Only improvement I would suggest is upgrading to hot showers. In the off season it's a bit chilly. Even if the nightly rate was increased it would be worth it. With the technology of on demand hot water heating systems this seems like a reasonable upgrade.

Love this campground. Easy access to the beach. A lot of chances for wildlife sightings. Biking distance to the lighthouse and restaurants.

The place is gorgeous! Very convenient to the beach and towns! We loved the 4 wheel beach access so close to our campsite. Unfortunately , the campground was very marshy and buggy. It hadnt been mowed for quite some time and the grass was knee high which Im sure contributed to the vast amounts of biting insects. We stayed for 9 nights and only saw a ranger or any type of workers on the last 2 days. They were edging the sites on area A and B, we were in K. Very large campground, but only 3 other sites occupied when we arrived, about a dozen more for Friday and Saturday, and then back to no one . I think its a great place that needs a lot of attention. We will be back nonetheless!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
