Lush grass at every site. Easy access to the water, bathrooms spotless! No trash along the roads. Visitor Center staff excellent.

I love this place. It is quiet & the stars are incredible. The cold showers are a little rough, but the restroom facilities are great. It's only a few minutes from Buxton & food/gas/restaurants, so it's the perfect amount of camping but not having to keep a bunch of food/supplies onhand b/c it's right up the street. Definitely worth it if you're there to mostly live on the beach & just need a place to sleep & use facilities. I will come back here as often as I can!

There is no hot water in the wash house or showers. How hard would it be to put a black cistern atop the shower houses?Otherwise a very nice campground

Most campsites in good shape, grounds well-kept. Facilities clean with flush toilets and cold, enclosed showers. The downside to this campground is that there is an ORV ramp at the back, which means trucks drive through at all hours of the night. The area is pretty stagnant, despite being on the coast, so mosquitoes are prevalent year-round.

We go in November. There is no one there and it is quiet and peaceful. As long as you are able to boondock, you will love the peace you find here.

Great campsite, me and a group of friends went here for a weekend trip to surf the outer banks and we had a great time. The campground is very chill, quiet and clean. It has all the amenities you could really need. There is no hot water in the showers, this was not a problem for us but it may be for others so I'd like to mention it.
