Very affordable, especially if you are an America the Beautiful pass holder. Campground is not maintained as well as it should be but you can't beat the views, tranquility, and price. Our site manager, Mike, was attentive and responsive to our needs. As long as you can deal with no sewer/having to use the dump station every few days or so and the goathead thorns, it's a good deal. Road leading to the park has a lot of potholes but I would absolutely stay here again.

beautiful park. bath rooms outdated and very old. Rangers are helpful and courteous not enough of them.

Beautiful and quiet campground! The water hookup wasn't too tasty, and the sites could've used a bit of trimming. But the view of the lake and peaceful dark skies made up for it.

A hidden gem we'd like to keep hidden! Peacful, quiet, lovely.

This campground is not for people who want privacy, it is on top of a low butte overlooking a lake with very little scrub brush so youll see all your neighbors. However the views - especially the sunsets and sunrises are spectacular. And when I visited, early September the weather was great - sunny, mid 70s with a steady, cool breeze.Only thing I was not so happy with was the lack of any sign of the hosts. No checking in/ going over rules, no verifying everyone there had paid, no notices/posting of which spots were already reserved. Very lackadaisical - unless there didnt happen to be hosts?

Wonderful view, quiet, nice campsites (in the main loop, inner sites are the largest), good w/e. A little out of the way and in spots, youll find some ruff patches. If you like the solitude of boondocking, youll like this.

2nd time that my site has been occupied with people in willing to move

Its a run down site, showers and water dont work, area full of trash. Dont know why anyone would want to stay here.

Good - the water was on, the bathrooms were clean and functional, and it was a great view. Bad - the campsites were overtaken by huge ants, goatheads, and some other weeds with very tiny burs. We are still finding those tiny burs in our house from the trip. There's also no natural shade. If you are in a camper, it probably won't be much of an issue, but we were in a tent. Also, there were people coming and going it seems like all hours of the night, so lots of talking and headlights. And if you plan to come here to get away from fireworks for 4th of July (like we did, for our dog), there were a ton along the lake, and they seemed to go on all night.

First I never realized cochiti was so close. Second, the camping spot was super great. Really enjoyed my stay

It was good, the campsite was clean. There are no trees so I dont recommend going when the weather is really hot if you are tent camping. The shelters provide a little relief, but thats about it. It was otherwise pretty standard. The amenities are not new but everything worked and I personally didnt have any issues. Not all campsites have grills, and campfires are not allowed. Luckily we had a little stove to use. The campsites are just a short walk downhill and there are plenty of little spots to hang out around the lake. The views are beautiful.

The campground was very quiet.

No water, no showers and they locked the bathrooms and recreation.gov was zero help in letting me change campgrounds. Top 5 worst developed campgrounds ever.and I camp alot.

Advertised as having a water hookup. There was indeed a spigot at the site, but it didnt produce any water. Also, there were signs around stating that the water was non potable. The campground appeared to be neglected as infrastructure was aging and some areas blocked off. Electric did work, but there was only 30 amp. Dump station was okay. Might be nice if youre into water activities (but not swimming). Road into the campground was rough.

Really enjoyed my short stay. The campground roads are a wonderful walk with all kinds of birds.
@JosianneF79D21 · Camped on May 24, 2025 at Campsite #15
There was no water for the hook up and no water in the bathrooms. The showers were locked. There was no park ranger at the station and no host at the campground. There were other campers that were ignoring campground rules, the had their dog off leash, they were drinking alcohol, and they played loud music until 2:0 in the morning. We left a day early, not worth staying. You might as well close this campground since it has no services at all.

This facility should have a great big yellow alert sign on it for rec.gov as if you look at campsites they say they have electric and water but you have to go into the facility information where it's mentioned in same type letters and font that there is no water at the campground currently but it's my understanding it's been that way for some time. Out of all the coe Parks I've stayed at from North Carolina to Texas,Arizona, Oklahoma and Ohio,Missouri, Kansas and Kentucky this is by far the worst corps of engineers campground period hands down.

This place has a ton of potential but fell far short of expectations especially with a 4.4 star review out of 400 reviews. When you pull off of NM 16 onto Tetilla Peak Rd. there are huge potholes everywhere. We arrived at Tetilla Peak Campground to find that the water was non-potable, with very little water pressure (the pressure was so low it didnt push the check valve on the trailer so no water into the trailer), but the bathrooms were open, and you could was your dishes in a tub outside. There were no employees at the park, recreation.gov answered the phone but couldnt provide a refund or change reservations in any way. The gave a phone number for the manager of the campground but nobody answered the phone. The first night we saw an employee arrive and we thought they were cleaning the bathrooms but they just locked them and left. On the second day the water went out everywhere and still nobody answered the phone. The campground has nice covers over the picnic tables, the views at sunrise and sunset were amazing though this place looked like it was abandoned years ago. Until they decide to take some pride in the campground I would stay away from this place. The Cochita campground is on the other side of the lake and looks way nicer I would recommend you go there instead.

No water was bad enough but then as soon as I pulled into space, entire campground electricity went out & park ranger was very condescending ... And the site was supposed to be for my 40' rig & it was so small that I was forced to pull in on an angle & still sticking out in street ... He said call recreation.gov & when I called recreation.gov they said I'd have to talk to park ranger since their system didn't even say there was an issue ... and of course this happened after park ranger left the location ... NO ONE ONSITE TO TALK TO ! Electricity didn't come back on until next day but was still charged rate of a site with WATER & ELECTRICITY ... Asked for a credit & was denied ... First time at a USACE location & will never go to another one !!!

CONS: dirty restrooms (didn't use, had my camper), no potable water, road into campground had HUGE potholes so drive very slowly/carefullyPROS: camped in October and only a few other people there, very quiet, campsites were very level and fairly well spaced out, only $10 a night for my electric!

To start the road in needs major repairs and the entrance area and then up to the park. Signage into the park needs to be better.Not sure why the park closes mid October.

This review is solely for the campground. The tent loop (Coyo) is all street parking, no driveways. The sites are well spaced and have beautiful views, but most of them are so unmaintained that youd have a tough time finding anywhere to pitch your tent at all. Its worth the extra few bucks to stay in the loop with hookups just to have a good tent pad. The bathrooms are serviceable, but theyre also long since forgotten about. Its beautiful, but I dont think anybody has maintained the grounds in decades. The BIA road coming in is all paved and isnt horrendous, but be very careful as there are some large (avoidable) pot holes that could easily ruin your day. Recommend you come before sunset for this reason.

Beautiful. It's older compared to the sites on the other side of the lake.There is H2O at one pump at the entrance after the dump station. H20 in the toilet house and sinks in the toilet house only. The night sky is amazing. The sites are big but they need a little racking for your own benefit.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
