This campground was very clean and quiet. We stayed in site #27 and enjoyed some shade. The campground host was very helpful in providing information about trails and Bandelier. During our 8-day road trip around NW New Mexico, Bandelier was the highlight. It is truly a hidden gem.

Very helpful and friendly campground host. Clean restroom and available drinking water closed by. We originally stayed at site site 41 however due to not being leveled, the host let us move to site 40, many thanks. Unfortunately, several of the sites are not leveled and the park may want to find a solution for this issue.

Very nice, clean, well-maintained campground. Flush toilets, place to wash dishes with well lit pathway to bathrooms. Plenty of privacy and shade. Ranger programs. I look forward to visiting again.

When I arrived, I could not get my little trailer into the campsite coming from the direction of the arrows along the street. After swapping with another family who were tent camping and had no tent site. I still had to back down the road to access the campsite with my trailer. There is no room with huge rocks all along the edge of the road. I was told by the camp host I could have driven in the other direction. NO WHERE DOES IS SAY TRAFFIC CAN GO BOTH WAYS. Shortly after getting setup, another guy was also going to back down the road to be able to get into his site. Just about everyone in the campground had a dog, most had 2. There is no where to take your dog except the campground or parking lots. It was in the high 80s so the parking lots were too hot. There is a 1.5 mile trail from the campground to the Visitor's Center, no dogs. There was only one dumpster in the campground so cleaning up after dogs was not easy. I have learned my lesson, no more National Parks. Too bad

Clean bathrooms, flush toilets, no showers. Ancient Pueblo ruins very interesting with paved trail. Other good hiking trails. Los Alamos nearby also worth a half day visit.

I was pleasantly surprised there were was a night ranger program. The campground sites were spacious and pleasing. My only suggestion would be to have a bit more signage to the amphitheater. Maybe a campground map on a board, because the park was out of the usual Park handouts.

Our visit to Bandelier National Park was amazing! I cannot recommend it enough. The hiking was wonderful and the whole camp was lovely. If you are there on a weekend, be sure to check out the park ranger talks at the amphitheater.

Juniper is easy access to Los Alamos and Valle Caldera for day trips. We love the visitor center and the friendly staff. The gift shop has great maps and souvenirs. Even Bandelier socks!

The campground was one of the quietest and cleanest National Park campgrounds I've ever stayed.

This is a very well run campground that has so many beautiful spots. Well laid out and most sites have unique unobstructed views (someone really thought it through when they designed this campground).
@PaulC8096585 · Camped on Jul 4, 2025
Great stars visible at night. The bathroom is 40ft away, so convenient. Light from bathroom facilities were not an issue for us previous reviews of this site noted lights bothered them, but was not the case for us.

One of my favourite campgrounds ever! The surroundings allow you to steep yourself in history and beauty. The trails surrounding the area are well maintained as well. The bathrooms (not vault!) are always clean! Always! They have a dish wash area as well that is so helpful. The campground hosts (I have camped there for 4 years in a row) are always helpful and friendly. I cant wait till I get to go again. My only criticism is that some of the sites are very hard to get into if you have a travel trailer (they are laid out incorrectly for you to park considering the direction of the road) and they are still marked as suitable for a trailer on the website. I managed to book such a site, but the campground host was so helpful and found a site for me that worked!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were in the Coyote campground loop. Bandelier National Monument is incredibly beautiful and interesting to visit. You can access hiking trails directly from the campground. There is a trail from the campground down to the visitor center but be aware that it's quite far down into the canyon to get there. The trails up on top of the mesa offer excellent views of the canyon and surrounding areas. We took a drive one day out to Valles Caldera which was well worth it.There are a lot of tall trees in the campground but not every site has shade. The sites on the inner part of the loop appeared to have more shade overall than the ones on the outside of the loop. Some of the sites are on the small side so pay attention to the details when booking. It was really nice having bathrooms with running water and flush toilets (no showers) and there are multiple water spigots around the campground.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
