Really enjoyed the campground. We had short stays in A and C loops. Bath houses were convenient and clean. A Loop had nice site separation with native Juniper. C loop had convenient access to the bathhouse and was nicely tucked into the landscape. Easy access to sites and camp fire wood. We will definitely come back.

One of my favorite campgrounds that I've ever stayed at

Very convenient to visitor center, trails and ruins. Campsites are spacious and well maintained. Make sure your site can accommodate your trailer many sites are not long and angle approaches can be very tight.

Camped at Juniper many times. Always delightful. Very well kept campground. Bathrooms are spotless. Site 29 has a slight downward slope, which was perfect for our rig. Not much daytime shade at this site. At this end of loops A and B you can hear cars on the road above but its not loud or intrusive.

The overall experience was great. The campsite host kept the bathrooms very clean, and as a bonus, they were flush toilets. Fellow campers were quiet and considerate. The only negative was that the campsite were very small, and facing in the wrong direction, even for a pop up like we camp in.The weather was great. (Thank you God)We have camped at Bandelier before and will do so again

Tent camped at spot #51. It was right next to the restroom which I wanted for convenience. It was a full campground but it was weirdly quiet. I felt like I had to whisper to talk but I am not complaining. We explored Bandelier National Monument and you can hike there from the campground. They had firewood at the entrance to purchase from. The camp host was actively doing his job.

great campground! even has service at most of it. camp host was super overbearing while we were there but everything else was splendid.

This is a great campground. There is plenty of ponderosa and pinion pines for shade and beauty. My site was fairly level and the separation was good from other campsites. The host was not chatty but was friendly and made regular rounds. I did not use the bathrooms so cannot comment on them. Great trails accessible from the campground and the Frijoles Canyon and Visitors Center is a 10 min drive to the bottom. I even had 2 bars of cell service if I walked a short distance from my site. Great place to camp!

Quiet, well maintained campground with beautiful dark skies. Our site was relatively private and loved the pull thru option.
@SteveJ4007832 · Camped on May 12, 2025
A good location for exploring the region. The campground is small. The sites a little close together, but not bad. The bathrooms are well kept up. It was easy to fill our fresh water tank and dump.

Very nice campground near Bandelier National Monument, which is a must to visit. Campsites are very clean. Firewood, dump and potable water available. Some are a bit tight and the entrances are angled slightly opposite but doable.

Nice campground. Easy access to Bandolier, Los Alamos, Valles Caldera. No electric hookups. Dump Station on premises. Bathrooms with toilets and sink in each loop are clean. Bathroom has electic for hairdryers! Weather was very stormy and wet during our visit. Campground host came out during rain and helped up relocate to a more favorable site that fit our camping trailer better. The sites are not large, our camper is only 21 feet long, and most sites are not this length. Bring boards for leveling too.

Very nice campground close to Bandelier National Monument, which is defiantly worth seeing. Los Alamos is a short drive.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The campground is a very beautiful setting.

The campsite itself is very good, it had shade, good table, fire ring, and it is close to the restroom. However, I would look for other campsites in terms of privacy such as the 50, 51, 52. The 49 was too close to others and our neighbors made our sleep difficult after 10pm.

Juniper campground is an excellent place to stay in Bandelier NM. We enjoyed being able to hike from the campground into the canyon to see the Puebloan ruins. In addition to the hikes in Bandelier, the campground is convenient for excursions into Los Alamos and Valles Caldera too. The restrooms were well maintained. There is a mix of sites for different sized campers, so be sure to verify your vehicles will fit.
@MariettaS4F70B · Camped on Apr 17, 2025
The campground facilities were excellent. There was a kitchen sink area with hot water to wash our dishes. Sites nicely separated for privacy. Convenient location within the park.
@PeggyW2206898 · Camped on Apr 14, 2025
Excellent campground - loops are small but one is not too close to the next camper. It is weird that the campsite back-ins are angled the wrong direction for the one-way flow of traffic. (The direction of the one-way travel should be reversed.
@RsC40EE549CF00 · Camped on Apr 14, 2025
Very pretty area with good access to interesting trails. Clean bathrooms.It was not quiet as several dogs were always barking and a neighboring camper ran a generator at night. Campsite had dog waste in & around it.
@BonnieC2835D1D · Camped on Apr 11, 2025
Bathrooms were very clean. Campsites were close to the neighbors but we didn't have any issues.

The campground was fine and good, but there was a lacking of info on how to get there. The website did not have a detailed address, just Bandalier Natl Mon. and "Juniper" CG and Coyote loop. We navigated to "Bandalier National Monument" hoping/thinking/assuming it'll take us near or close to the Juniper CG. Or get some hints along the way. We got way out of the way and had to doubleback a few times, down very dark deserted roads, and at the Los Alamos entrance gates too. There were many physical signs on the road showing "Bandalier..." leading us in the wrong direction. We FINALLY had to call recreation.gov at 11pm and TG there was someone there. They gave us the ACTUAL ADDRESS: "15 Entrance Road". Navigation then took us right there, no problem. We were like 10+ miles off. So, I'd suggest placing the address: "15 Entrance Road" on the website and to be included in the "reminder" emails we rcvd. UGH!!!!! STRESSFUL!!!!!

Great, laid back campground with really nice facilities.

Beautiful, peaceful. A long drive (or hike) to the visitor center. Nice bathrooms. Most sites require some levelers.

campground is conveniently located in the Bandelier National Monument. It is very clean with a bear box in every site. The restroom is very clean and heated. I definitely will come back.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
