When they said "sunset" they were not kidding!!! We rather accidentally booked a site right on the Western edge of the campground, which overlooks an incredible sunset vista. Most of the campground turned out to watch. It was a delight.

Site 065 has a shared driveway and is well shaded. It is extremely close to the adjacent campsite without and natural barriers to separate the two. Great site if you want to book both sites for a group, but I recommend a different site if you want any privacy.

Wonderful campground! We have stayed here twice now and love everything about it! The general store and visitors center is super close, the restrooms are really clean, and the campsites are spacious.

Highly recommend.

Beautiful campground with lots of old growth trees. Basically across the street from the visitor center. Gorgeous views if you can get the sites farthest from the entrance!!

Crowded, noisy campground. Not always clear boundaries between sites, so might require some negotiation about where tents should go.

The best campground for all sorts of fun! Clean bathrooms. Large camping grounds, lots of shade and the best sunsets.

Nice campground. Conveniently located within walking distance to the visitor center. The campsite was well maintained, clean and quiet at night.
@TerraWD5AB32D0 · Camped on Jul 15, 2025 at Campsite #138
Conveniently located near visitor center, market, restaurant and many trailheads. Can just park your car and walk pretty much everywhere in the area. Bathroom was clean. Everyone was respectful of quiet hours (10-6). Will stay again if I return

Beautiful area, clean and relatively quiet (after 10 pm). Loved the view! Close to hiking trails and Grant Grove Village.

We absolutely loved this campground, it was our first camping experience and it was awesome! The only thing I would say that could be different was the camp site we got was a little small and very close to our neighbors but maybe thats how it is everywhere like I said it was our first time. We camped at site 65.Next time I will try to get site 37 or 40 it has the best views!

Had a good stay at site #093. Although it was a bit boxed in by other sites, we still enjoyed plenty of peace and quiet. The site was conveniently close to a water valve and the bathrooms as well.

Amazing scenery

Peaceful campground but sites are on top of each other. Spotty cell service but easy walk to Kings Canyon Visitor center and easy hikes. Campsite and Bathrooms were clean. Gorgeous sunsets through the trees each night.

It is very close to Grant Grove and super easy to plan hikes from there. The campground is lovely.

The campground was so clean and generally very quiet. It was perfectly located between sequoia and kings canyon making it easy to day trip both parks. The short walk to the grant grove store and restaurant was very convenient as well. Overall we loved our experience and will definitely camp here again!

Beautiful campground, and all the other campers were very respectful. We stayed in a tent and had a lovely site and those sunsets were beautiful. The bathrooms could have used more attention, and I never once saw a campground host. The proximity to all the sites made this CG a gem. We could walk to the sequoias as well as the visitor center. Perfect after a long day of driving.

Sequoia NP itself is absolutely amazing!! The campground is functional. Its close to the store and restaurant, but there is no walking trail to get there. Sites are really just set up for tents. Not level for small RVs like ours. There is a manned gated entrance during the day, which gives a false sense of management and security. At night, the 6 young people at the site next to ours were very loud with partying, talking and loud music until after 1am. Another camper complained to the ranger station the next day, but nothing was done and it continued every night after their return from hiking at about 8/9 pm. We did, however, witness the spectacle of a tow truck removing one of their 3 cars from their site at about 7 am. It was a pretty loud affair, but the partiers didnt wake from their slumber in their 3 tents on their one site. We pulled out before they woke up so didnt get to see the rest of the show. We also camped at Stony Creek, which was quieter, but not very welcoming as the camp hosts had big signs at their campsite saying, Beware of Dog! Needless to say, we didnt bother them.

Absolutely gorgeous backdrop, shade with trees, firepit, great proximity to visitor center, even a skirmish with a camping neighbor(s) conflicting over areas was handled with kindness and professionally.
@KevinG8036592 · Camped on Jul 7, 2025 at Campsite #109
Arrived at my site to find it occupied. There was no ranger or anyone else in the check-in office to help me. I reserved another site. I called to get a refund on the first site and waited on hold for over an hour before giving up.

The ease of using recreation.gov was very helpful in selecting which campground and campsite to stay at. I elected to go with Sunset Campground site 125. Campsite was near water and restrooms. Level site with lots of room. My experience at Sequoia and Kings Canyon was fantastic
@JoshuaT0717491 · Camped on Jul 7, 2025 at Campsite #96
Very clean and easy to find. Close to the general store and market which made getting ice and supplies super easy. Would recommend to anyone camping first time in sequoia national forest. Camp sites were a little close together but other than that it was a great experience. The sunsets were amazing every night, now I know why its called sunset camp ground.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
