Wax Campground in Grayson County is located 42 min southwest of Elizabethtown, KY with an elevation of 531 feet. There are a total of 107 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to the end of August. 106 sites can accommodate RVs between 30 and 120 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 83 sites have electric and water hookups. Fees range from $19.00 to $26.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, boat ramp, marina, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District remains committed to providing high-quality recreation experiences to our visitors while also maintaining a recreation program that is efficient and sustainable. As part of this effort, USACE entered a partnership with a local business and transitioned the operations and management of the Wax Campground Recreation Area at Nolin River Lake to Wax Marina.
This change is effective immediately. Any questions regarding fees, pass eligibility, or reservations procedures should be directed to the new managing entity—Wax Marina. The campsite was very clean and the other campers were very friendly. We did go to mammoth cave and enjoyed the hike surrounding the cave. Would stay again if in the area.

Self check in required due to the gate house damaged by floods. Volunteer Hosts were very nice. There were several trailers pre parked for the Labor Day Weekend and no body in them. (hogging Spots) Rules state they must be manned. Bathrooms Very Clean. (they were cleaned daily) Need to add more water and Electric to area "C"

The campground was well maintained and the bathroom/shower house was clean. The volunteers were helpful (even when not on duty). I hope we have another opportunity to visit Wax again.

We had such a great time here. The campground is clean and well maintained. The restrooms were also well kept. The campground is less than a 5 minute drive to a gas station/convenience store and a dollar general right across the street. It was quiet during the week and the weekend really picked up. We'll be back!

Excellent 2 week stay!! On the water for fishing or viewing if we wanted, clean site & facilities, and fairly level gravel pad. No sewer, but we know that's a down side for a COE. Good local restaurant and interesting Amish shopping sites. Highly recommend WAX, Kentucky for a stay!!

The finally trimmed the trees at our favorite Camp site after a couple of years. THANK YOU. If would not have happened without the Great Volenters speaking with park officials and showing them the damage to my RV, I would highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a great place to camp and enjoy the lake.

I was really surprised at how incredibly clean the entire area was, during our stay. Everything from the bathroom facilities, showers, campgrounds and lakeside. Our specific site had a nice large grass area that backed up to a fence. Our site was so level, we didnt have to make any adjustments to our 5th wheel camper!We noticed some sites were smaller and some incredibly larger! After walking around, we picked a couple sites and booked another reservation to come back and by directly in the water. I cant wait!!As for my only con, there is only trash dump facilities at the entrance. Not a huge big deal, but we didnt realize until day 2. lol!Oh yes! Almost forgot to mention he darling little building that was on honor payment system. GREAT place to buy wood, fresh fruits and vegies!! Very clever!! Plan to use this resource on our next trip!Lastly, we have family property in the area and although we have used the lake for over 40 years, we have NEVER stayed at a campground. We cannot get our new camper down to our family property, which is why we are at the campsite. SOOOO glad we chose Wax! Did not disappoint!!

This was our very first time staying at Wax. We stayed in site B 20. While a little on the short side as far driveway length is concerned, the site offered almost all day shade and was fairly private from the sites around. The site was reasonably level and offered easy access to the bath house if needed. I would recommend this site to those with smaller rigs and only one vehicle. That said, I do recommend thus site and our experience at Wax was first class.

Site was narrow for a pull through. Struggled to get our 31 foot Jayco in and out of the site because of a sharp curve to the left. A a LOT of ticks.

The park was clean and there was a lot of shady places. Only thing I wish it had was a beach and or a good non rocky place to park boats. Playground was nice for smaller children.

We love Wax campground and will be there on several outings. It's been a rough camping season due to flooding, but all will work out. Thank you for all you do.
