Cherry Glen Campground in Polk County is located just 10 min west of Ankeny, IA with an elevation of 934 feet. There are a total of 125 campsites including 1 boat site. The campground is normally open from mid April to mid October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 28 and 93 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. All sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $24.00 to $26.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, boat ramp, swimming, restroom, flush toilets. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, water skiing, floating sports, disc golf.

Quiet, scenic, and plenty of room. What more could you ask for? Close enough to Ankeny and Des Moines for groceries and tons of good dining options.

This is a nice campground.It could easily be a great campground with a little effort.They let the weeds grow up around the perimeter to the point you can barely see the lake, if at all, from most sites.In addition, the mowing crew does a terrible job. They go so fast that even the places that they hit leave partially uncut grass.And they entirely miss spots.Recommended but it could be much, much nicer.

Stayed here a couple days to rest. Great campground with large sites with electric. Nice area to right of boat ramp for dogs to swim. Enjoyed walking through the park.

Quiet campground with good views of Saylorville Lake. Well cared for. I appreciated the response from the main host and the ranger after an injury from a dog that wasn't leashed. The shower needed some improvement as the temperature was barely warm with a weak spray and a 5 second timer. In spite of those things, we had a beautiful trip and enjoy Cherry Glen.

This was our first visit to Cherry Glen. Our first campsite was under a tree that dropped acorns on our rv roof on a very frequent basis. With the help of the campground host, we moved to a spot that was free of tree issues. We'll definitely go back to Cherry Glen again.

Nice clean Corp park. Friendly hosts for ck in. Clean showers and restrooms. Excellent dump station with 3 lanes. If this CG had water available at each site I would rate it a 5. Location to the Saylorville lake, Ankeny and even DesMoines is perfect. Park City liquor for your adult beverages. Ankeny Hy-Vee for groceries was amazing.

Very nice Park, very nicely maintained, nice and clean restrooms and showers. Campsites are mostly very nicely shaded and spaced out enough that you don't feel crowded.

Pleasant area, quiet, clean bathrooms, walkable, bikeable, kids playgrounds and good value. Enjoyable stay. It was completely booked but we were able to extend our stay 3 extra days at 2 different locations close to our original spot. Highly recommended.

It is a fantastic campground.. unfortunately it was the last of only a few sites open. Site 98 is for someone who is camping with others from the 3 sites behind it in the other side of the loop, not if you want quiet and privacy. While we had 10 others from the other sites it was still a nice weekend. Most sites are fairly private and well maintained. Will camp there again, but after I check out the site

We went on a quick trip here and ended up with a short camp spot. Our truck had to be across the end. The showers by check in need to be updated badly.
