Cherry Glen Campground in Polk County is located just 10 min west of Ankeny, IA with an elevation of 934 feet. There are a total of 125 campsites including 1 boat site. The campground is normally open from mid April to mid October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 28 and 93 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. All sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $24.00 to $26.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, boat ramp, swimming, restroom, flush toilets. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, water skiing, floating sports, disc golf.

Very nice quite camp ground with wonder hosts. Many of the sites are shaded well.

Site 120 is probably the best one in my opinion! Set a little apart from the neighbors with two big trees and a large green space. Super close to water spigot and bathrooms; fairly close to showers - all of which are pristinely maintained and clean. The weather was perfect, barely any bugs. Loved every minute!

Love this campground! The bathrooms are always clean as are the sites. Cherry Glen sites are gravel so they usually need a little leveling, but not bad at all. The campground hosts are always super friendly. Bring your bikes. The bike trail is great! A short drive into Ankeny for great dining or bar/brewery options is a plus.

Cherry Glenn is a great campground! Lots of good spots. Lots of eating places if you want that. Bathrooms are always really clean!

Our site had a great view of the lake. Nice level spot. Close enough to showers. Restrooms were very clean. Will definitely return.

The south loop is quieter than some of the others. Campsite #42 is large, and is surrounded by trees on the awning side of my travel trailer.

Have always enjoyed Cherry Glen. Very clean and was very grateful for a little heat in showers, it was chilly that week. Staff friendly.

Sites are nicely spaced with views of the water through the trees. It was an easy walk to the beach to enjoy sunset. The fire pit and the site were nicely maintained, as was the picnic table. This is a nice regular stop for us now when we travel west from Chicago at just about 4-5 hours from the western suburbs.

Dealt with racism people lying on us and our dog saying she was left by herself and that we couldnt control her but it clearly states on the bathroom no pets allowed so I went and showered around 1 am could clearly see the vehicles were on property and not to mention this kid pulled a knife on my kids but my kids were the ones that got kicked out from the park so disappointed in people in this day and age the truth always comes to the light.

Our site was on the periphery of the campground, close to the lake so we had nice views. Shower house was close and convenient.

This was a beautiful campground. Close to the city, but it doesn't feel that way. The beach was great and we enjoyed it on a warm October day. The Neil Smith trail was right outside the campground entrance and perfect for running and biking.
