Cherry Glen Campground in Polk County is located just 10 min west of Ankeny, IA with an elevation of 934 feet. There are a total of 125 campsites including 1 boat site. The campground is normally open from mid April to mid October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 28 and 93 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill. All sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $24.00 to $26.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, boat ramp, swimming, restroom, flush toilets. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, water skiing, floating sports, disc golf.

I LOVE this campground! I travel for work and perfer to camp when I can. I expect been here maybe 6 times in the last year, all great experiences. While a bit dated, all the bathrooms and buildings are kept clean, all the sites are pretty spacious, hosts are great.I love the lake and boat launch too. Check it out!

Nice park, good facilities, very pretty area-could see the lake at various places. Our site had an extreme slope so our front motorhome tires were off the ground a foot. But otherwise very nice.

Very friendly camp host and the facility is very well kept. Enjoyed the busy weekend and also the quiet nights. The bike paths were also a highlight.

Comfort Stations very well maintained. Camp site 103 just a bit challenging backing in uphill with a wash out at the bottom. Overall, we were very happy with the campground and will utilize again.

Had Power portable drill, vise grips :and tool kit stolen out of my storage compartment of my RV. Very unhappy. Have camped for 45 years and have never had anything stolen :-(

This is a very nice family oriented campground that we thoroughly enjoyed. The walking trails were nice with plenty of wildlife to see. Bathrooms were clean and the hosts were very polite.

Cherry Glen had lovely sites with ample room. The restrooms were very clean. Staff was present during the day, it was unclear exactly where they were as some sites marked as hosts did not have people who were there - just their campers. It would be great if there was information at the office, even if it was posted outside, who was actually physically present as a host. I am a single woman and feel more comfortable with a host available.

The park host was sarcastic and rude, refused to listen to me, when I told her I did not cancel my campsite. My brother was camping next to us, he called in to cancel part of his reservation after leaving for a family emergency. I told the host that they probably messed up the process and canceled my reservation. She was rude, didn't believe me, and treated me like I was dishonest. Well guess what? That is exactly what happened, but no apology. She just requested that I pay my brother for his "refunded" site because "someone else" messed up. She ruined our experience.

The lady at the front gate was very helpful when we ask her some question. I stopped in one day at the office about a space for our rv she was very knowledgeable about the park. She was a very nice and friendly lady.

As always, the property is kept clean and neat. The facilities are up to date and clean as well. I started using Cherry Glen over 30 years ago and will continue to stay there whenever Im in the area.
