Restrooms were spotless and lawn was mowed this time. Had a great time.

With the amount of money this USACOE makes on the saylorville impoundment I would hope there are plans on the horizon to update a few things. Love the campground, the spacing, the well maintained roads as well as the ranger staff, however, restrooms and visitor parking areas need updated. Many many lights are non functional in these areas and give the campground an all around dated look. Have many many other suggestions, please reach out if you would like more input. Many opportunities for community involvement are being wasted. Will continue to use these facilities but will still feel like more can be done.

The crew that mowed the grass did a terrible job

A23 is a great site. It's not very level but it's sort of by itself. It's directly across from shower building, which will be handy for some.

Power outage at 5 AM on my second to last day cut my reservation short, but the staff was VERY good about alerting me (and everyone) and providing options.

Was without power for 10 to 11 hours, but our fridge automatically switched over to gas so we didn't lose any food. This is a nice campground and we have always been treated well here. The power outage was unavoidable.
@TomM3609852 · Camped on Aug 13, 2025 at Campsite #C109
Everything was great except we lost power the last 2 days, but we go reimbursed. So that was an incident that couldn't be helped.

We really enjoyed our stay at Priere Flower COE. The location couldnt have been bettertucked away in a peaceful setting, yet with easy access to the Iowa State Fair and the High Trestle Bridge, both of which were highlights of our visit. The campground itself was clean, quiet, and well-maintained, making it a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. We appreciated the convenience and the friendly atmosphere, and would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view of the lake, highlight of the spot. However, with temps nearly 100 degrees, no shade made it very hot. Faces west making our awning obsolete in the evening. In the fall, this would be a perfect spot. Campground lost power on our last morning.

Overall always would be a 5 star but who they have doing their mowing and the quality of the grass care would be a 1 star.

Our site was on B loop and backed up to C loop. We had good shade and now with the increased water spigots, we were close to water. The shower house was kept clean and I appreciated the longer timer, the pressure, and warm water, making showers much better than at some campgrounds. Having the lake close by is a major plus even if not lakeside since it's visible on walks. I do wish I could take my dog to the beach on a leash. My only complaint is that there were people who didn't keep their dogs on leashes or tie outs so was a constant fear of altercations.

We always enjoy our time at Prairie Flower. It's one of the best campgrounds we've ever been to, and there have been many. We return whenever we're in the area.

No matter which loop we are in, we love staying in Prairie Flower.We would love to see the Aster loop improved with concrete pads though.
@MikeM9721189 · Camped on Aug 7, 2025 at Campsite #A3
Very nice and well kept campground. Loops B, C, D have spacious concrete pads and Loop A is gravel. All have good size yards. Very friendly and close to everything.

I love camping at Prairie Rose. Many of the newer spots have no shade yet but we deal with that. This stay, we saw garbage piled over the edges of the dumpsters and on the ground around them. We never found out what was going on with that. The grass seemed longer than usual too. We wanted to ask some of the volunteers but never did see any of them out and about. The front gate shack was not manned at all the whole time we were there. There are 2 campers in front by the gates, so not sure what those volunteers do but they didnt man the check-in shack.

Nice rv sites. Easy to get in and out and the facilities were well kept

Garbage was overflowing out of dumpsters the whole week. We started s-f and they didnt get emptied. Fire pits full of ash (over 10inches) couldnt even light a fire. Campsite very nice, bathrooms super clean, and playground are good.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
