This was our first time camping here and it was amazing can't wait for spring to do it again.

We've stayed here several times and always loved the campground... Unfortunately this time some people across from us refused to put their dog on a leash... He didn't cross the road but did wander into other campsites.

Great place to camp with family! Pet friendly with great views of Saylorville lake... You can go many directions walking, biking or chasing your pets...

Staff was rude when I was a little late pulling off the site. I had just got back from trying to find my next site to move to and one guy came up and got on me because it was like 3:10. I told him I had been looking for another site and was trying to get camper ready to move. As I literally was getting ready to pull out another staff person comes and gets after me for being there at 3:25. No one was scheduled for the following day to reserve site so its not like someone was there ready to pull in. The campsite was dirty from garbage left from previous campers.

It was a beautiful spot and had a nice view of the lake, close to the showers and the playground. Our only negative experience was that because we were close to the playground there were some issues that made it a little less relaxing. We will probably not book so close to the playground next time. Bathrooms were very clean and everything was well maintained.

Clean modern bathhouse makes all the difference. The mature trees provide shade and are scenic. The camping pads are nicely spaced but it would nice if they were graded to be more level. This is my favorite Des Moines area campground.

Facilities were meh and not so clean. The sites were more like a parking lot in that you had no privacy from your neighbors. Also, the lake was incredibly gross and I would suggest not going in it.

The camp sight we chose wasn't the most desirable. However that was due to us not being familiar with Saylorville. While camping we made note of several camp sights we will choose among on our next visit. Overall Saylorville is a wonderful place to camp and explore. The visitors center is outstanding and all of the volunteers were wonderful. We will be back next camping season.
