We love French Camp. It is well kept, the sites are nice and the country is beautiful. As a bonus, it's at a high enough elevation that it's cooler than anywhere south. It's always our first stop on the 395 coming from SoCal.

We love coming to this campground. Have used it for many years as a base camp for fishing all to surrounding lakes and streams.Sites are always clean along with the restrooms. Only comment, our last site, #68 had the fire ring too close to the picnic table. We could not put chairs all the way around it.

Unique setting in pure pinyon pine with tons of wonderful granite boulders. Restrooms with flush toilets were kept very clean, and the camp host was friendly and helpful. Beautiful hiking and fishing nearby.

Camp site 72 should not be listed as an RV site. We made it work but in all my years of camping this was not the site for me. Had to walk over rocks to get in and out of the RV. Bees were out which made eating out side a little challenging.Lights in the bathroom only stayed on for awhile and then went out! Good thing I had my phone with me.I have camped here many times, this was not my best experience

One of our favorite campgrounds in the Sierras. Tons of great hiking, fishing and exploring nearby and a quick drive to Mammoth make this a great place to stay. Bathrooms are clean and the camp hosts year after year are friendly and keep the campground in great shape.

Clean bathrooms and plenty of space for tents. The campground is quiet, with generous gaps between campsites for privacy. We felt safe thanks to the frequent patrolling by the camp manager. Its both dog- and kid-friendly, and we highly recommend this campground!

Steve was an amazing host. He was very communicative and respectful. He kept us informed on bear activity and safety. He was ready to deliver firewood when needed. He kept bathrooms and campsites clean.

Nice and quiet campground. Stream adjacent to campground has nice brown trout within it. The restrooms were very clean and tidy. The camp host Steve and Frank were excellent. They provided a lot of information on things to do in the area. I would definitely go there again.

Not our 1st time to Rock Creek French Camp Site #84 as this is the only site my family and I choose to camp at. It fits our camper trailer and truck perfectly, site #84 is somewhat secluded with only site #83 next door so I rent that space for the privacy and serenity as well. Our site is within 150ft to the creek so its perfect to hang out at without having to trek 3 miles to get to. French Camp is all around a beautiful campground, very clean, peaceful, and if we are ever in a pinch for groceries we missed, or just dont feel like cooking that day, Toms Place is just down the road with a mini mart and restaurant. My family and I look forward to our Rock Creek trip every year and DEFINITELY recommend it to any adventure seekers.

French Campground is excellent for visiting Mammoth. We camped towards the end of the campground and some other campers got a little too loud. They had music passed 10pm and got quite load at the restroom at night too. Please if you visit this campground or any other be respectful of everyone. Most of us drive a long way to get away from the stress of the big cities and want to enjoy some peace and quiet around nature.

The campsite was clean. Firewood was available on an honor system. The bathrooms were serviced daily. Other campers were respectful and friendly. Rock creek was flowing and pleasant to the ears.

We stayed at French Camp in Rock Creek for two weeks, and while the location is beautiful and the campground itself is well-maintained, there were a few ongoing issues the biggest being the unprofessional and inconsistent behavior of the camp host.To start with the good: the bathrooms were regularly cleaned, which we appreciated. However, the bathroom closest to our site had a persistent leak the entire time we were there toilet water dripped on you while sitting, which was incredibly unpleasant. One of the stall doors also didnt lock for several days, limiting access even more.The water spigot at our site was suddenly shut off with no explanation or signage. It came back on the next day, but the lack of communication made it unnecessarily inconvenient especially on a longer stay like ours.What frustrated us most was the camp hosts attitude and inconsistency. They came off as unfriendly and quick to enforce rules with some campers, but completely ignored others. On our last night, the site next to us was partying loudly until 3am. As tent campers, it was impossible to sleep yet the host said nothing. While we didnt report it (since we were leaving the next day), it was frustrating knowing how strict they had been with other guests over much smaller things. The lack of consistency and professionalism really stood out.This is a beautiful campground with potential, but the maintenance issues and poor management took away from the experience. 3 stars

The campground is cool.The campground managers are cool.The campsite I stayed at is cool.THE CRITICISMS:- The water spigot valve packing needs to be serviced. When you press the handle to get water, water sprays up and gets all over you.- The toilet flush valves need serviced/adjusting. At first you're greet with an impressive rush of water, but it quickly dies and the toilet bowl struggles to clear requiring multiple flushes.- Basically all the sink faucet/valves need replaced. All three restroom sinks are not uniform. One of them only provided a trickle of water.Basically, everything I would change could be fixed in a single day.

Fun, spacious campsites with a lovely creek flowing through.

Been going there for years. We had a great family reunion. Unfortunately, the person in the adjacent campsite to #32 left their trailer there unattended in which a beeping alarm began going off on our last afternoon and night, causing my daughter in law to get a migraine headache. The camp host could do nothing about the problem. Also it would be nice if at some point a shower house could be installed.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
