I wished I was notified of the fire restrictions before going. That's the only thing, the campground was clean and bathroom excellent.

This campsite actually does have a lot of shades areas under trees which is a nice balance from the hot sun and rocks. Definitely a ton of rocks tho, so had to find a nice patch of sand to pitch our tents (site 003 did not have a ton of space, but 006 did). The bathrooms are probably the nicest facilities I’ve ever seen camping!

I did dock a point however , as I was reading previous comments and apparently there was an E. Coli outbreak in the water line a few weeks back……… we avoided but next time the facilities need to be notifying guests.

We booked a camping trip here for May 20-23. On our way to the campsite, we decided to check the weather and saw that a giant snow storm was coming for the entire weekend. We tried to call and cancel with both Recreation.gov and directly to the campsite as we turned around to drive back. Never got a call back from the camp ranger. Recreation hotline told us we couldn't cancel until after the trip was over and try to get partially refunded. We ever got to see the campsite, so no idea if it was nice or not. Very unhappy with the communication of Recreation.gov. No one can give me a straight answer about how to get a partial refund. We were denied a refund by email and when I called to ask why I was told the camp directly makes those decisions, but I can't get ahold of them? We tried to cancel as soon as we could and don't feel that we should lose our entire deposit because of this. Very disappointed. We will never book with recreation.gov again. I will do first come first serve or pay cash in person.
