Our camping experience at Lodgepole was good. The good included:- pleasant campground hosts- clean campgrounds because the hosts took care of the area- one good restroomThe bad included:- odd rules that say only one car and one camping unit per site (we have three brothers, all coming from different locations and so have more than one car and more than one camping unit)- the road, which lies between the campground and the Taylor River, has become pretty busy, starting at 5 am. Some of the campsites are very close to the road and there were many trucks using it (there was an issue with a bridge on another road that perhaps increased the traffic on the Taylor River road in 2024)- two older restrooms that need to be revamped

Love the location across from the beautiful Taylor River, which has a great walking path along it. Campsite and bathrooms were well kept and the host was awesome. Unfortunately, we had to share our campsite one night with a large herd of cattle who went around the fencing to graze. We tried to shoo them away but they kept coming back and eventually we gave up trying. They were loud and messy. Otherwise, it was a nice spot!

Nice little camground across from the Taylor River. Sites are reasonably spread out for a Fed campground. Camp host was nice. Two downsides. The campground is *right* off the road and the road noise is sometimes bothersome. And the vaults in the north section (site 10-15) smelled HORRIBLE. We're used to Fed and state campsite vaults but these were on another level.

Loved this campground! Beautiful and lots to do. There is a moderately busy road between the campground and the river but it didn't bother us. Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Would stay again.

The river is right across the road. While there is road noise, it dies down at night. Quiet campground--very clean--and the host was out and about checking on sites regularly. Really pretty canyon.

Nice campground and in a great location. The sites were well maintained thanks to Bob the camp host. His efforts were great considering several campers that were rude and unwilling to follow camp rules. His efforts were challenged by fisherman that used the camp facilities leaving several messes that he begrudgingly cleaned up after. Great job Bob.

The camp host was very friendly and helpful. We brought our 2 year old that loved playing on the boulders and playing near the river. We had a great time!

Lovely small clean campground. I am a new camper owner and was very relieved to have an easy pull through site. Access to the campground is off a good paved road.

This is one of our favorite campsites in Colorado. Most of the sites are large.
This area is beautiful and we highly recommend Lodgepole.

We had an excellent week in the Lodgepole Campground. Danielle is a kind and thoughtful host and all the sites are well shaded by tall Lodgepole pines. The picnic tables seem new, fire rings and grill grates are in great shape. Most sites are generous with space and may include both RV and tent pads. We have a 22 ft. Fifth wheel and stayed in to different sites. The pads are not the most level, so may take some work to get level. The Taylor River across the street provides a steady but not deafening sound. The views at Taylor Park Reservoir about 10 miles up the road are spectacular. If you like to fly fish, this is an excellent place to camp with so many options in walking distance from the campground or within a 45 minute drive. We had the added bonus of watching an active cattle drive right up 742 which runs adjacent to the campground. Something we’ve never seen before.

The hosts were the best ever. Our family has been camping here for 30 years. This time it was 3 generations worth. The hosts came over and played a game of cornhole with our grandkids and were the nicest hosts we’ve ever had.

Site #15:
Pro's:
1) very well shaded.
2) Nice fire ring and table.
Neutral:
1) Great spot for fishing. The site is about 14 miles from Almont.
Cons:
1) The whole site is on an incline.
2) Headlights hit the tent throughout the night. Lots of road noise.
3) TOILETS WOULD GAG A MAGGOT OFF A GUT WAGON. These need a serious update.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
