We love this campground. Loop 3 has the spots right by the lake.

The hosts in space 102, Floyd and Ginny were awesome. Space 50 was great size. Bathrooms were clean. Very close walk to the reservoir. Nicely done.

Nice. - the place is beautiful. Quite a bit busier on the lake than years past. Boat ramp was used as a parking lot for cars and space was limited. It looked like Yosemite with the people just parking and walking around. This gave the camp a different vibe.

Beautiful lake! We went during the week so it was nice and peaceful. We had a lake front site, it was nice and big, same with all others, with plenty of room in between sites. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and beautiful tall pine and cedar trees. The downside, during August, the pine trees drop sap all over! And is so sticky and hard to remove. Watch for your poor pets getting it all over their paws. Also, only one campground had the showers open, but be prepared with plenty of quarters, as they are pretty expensive. Last, it was upsetting to see many sites reserved with "no one" in them! I guess, the reservation system still needs to be somehow better managed. This park had a host, but it was like non existent, only saw him go fast twice during our 4 day stay, not even a good morning or checking with the people as we had experienced in other parks.

Beautiful campground. Ruined by someone one pooping on bathroom floors.

This does not reflect on the host of the campground as he was excellent and always attentive. I had Russians across from me in which most did not speak English. The sign in the bathroom wall asks that people close the lid after each use. This adds in keeping the bad smells from wafting up out of the septic. Well, this sign was in English and since this group was largely non-English speaking, thus is no way they could read the sign. Consequently, the lid was always left open in that bathroom and it was always very bad smelling. I had to use the next bathroom down the way, which patrons always closed the lids and the smells were kept down to a minimum. I wonder if the park service could post these signs, close the lid signs in a couple more languages, lid Spanish and Russian, it could be helpful in getting people to close the lids of these bathroom toilets.

This is a great, family-friendly campground with easy access for all types of vehicles. While the site can get a bit dusty from frequent use, thats just part of the camping experience. Restrooms and water are available on-site, and the beach is only a short walk away. Firewood is sold by the camp host for $10 per bundle. Its highly recommended to make a reservation in advancefirst-come, first-served sites are very limited and fill up quickly, so dont count on them being available.

Excellent staff at Sunset. Spent 5 glorious days last week at reservoir and had a great time. Thank you to Erica and Justin, campground host for their exceptional customer service

We made last minute reservations so were stuck with the only available campsite and it happened to be the only one with no shade. Our own fault but it would be nice if the website had a way of indicating this. There were no maps offered of the area. When we entered, and around the campground there were no maps indicating beaches trails etc. and could not find on line.

Its fine. It could definitely be better maintained, especially bathrooms and showers. Rules are not enforced at all which can be annoying at night with noise and when there is 12+ people in single sites. Bears are in the area for sure.

We love going to Union Valley and have been going since we got married 47 years ago. My husband has gone since he was eight years old. Floyd and Ginny are the best campground host! We love them and they make the visit even more special.

Sunset Campground in the loop that we camped in has a lovely beach. Unfortunately, it was not accessible to us because people 'staked out' spots with their pop-ups for the entire week! There seemed to be no regulations on doing that. The bathrooms were very clean.I was unable to adjust my reservation once it had started. The online chatbox did not help direct me.

Great location on a beautiful and calm lake. Lots of opportunities for biking, fishing, water activities and nearby hiking. Good sized sites and spread out well.
@JohnM1144946 · Camped on Jul 6, 2025
Paying $36 a night to camp, $10 to use the beach, $10 for the dump station is excessive. Bear awareness is preached but the dumpsters are overflowing before the weekend even starts.

Very nice place, clean and staff were helpful, just wish could be able to book the place more due to very hard to find availability.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
