Review is for site 108:
Pros:
The site is spacious with some “extra” room due to it being on the end of the row. The bear boxes are very large (both width and depth) so you will have no problem fitting whatever coolers you have. There is a fire pit and stand-alone grill. The bathrooms/water are very close to the site but not close enough to cause any “problems”.
Cons:
The site is basically in full sun from 1pm – 7pm. The table and bear box area gets especially hammered by the sun. If you have a canopy, I highly suggest bringing one because you really can’t do anything in the site between those hours without baking to death. The whole area seems unusually dusty compared to the other side of the lake so be prepared. There is a trail that goes down to the lake on the other side of the bathrooms but the site has a “trail” of its own (almost like an ATV trail). Well, instead of taking the actual trail, people would take the “atv trail” right through the campsite. Some apologized, some didn’t. That got VERY annoying. If you had an RV/Trailer, they would have to walk right past your setup. We felt like Chris Farley in the movie Summer Rental: "I'm joe public, welcome to my beach".
Oh the bathrooms were chronically out of TP (but clean) so make sure you bring some of your own.

Overall, I could not recommend this site any less.

The camp hosts in our loop were extremely rude and hostile. On our first day of our trip my kids were in a boating accident. I spent the first 2 days trying to find a company to tow our boat out of the lake. Made a trip to Placerville and Stockton during the trip to deal with the boat. I had 2 spots I paid for but wasn't using because we moved to a nicer first come first serve spot. I tried to cancel them on this website. Since the rental period had already started, the modify link wasn't working so I called Recreation. Gov and they told me I would need to work with the camp hosts. They said they couldn't help and the demand wasn't high so wouldn't be given a refund. We parked a few vehicles in one of the spots (113). A few more days into the trip I was able to get in touch with Megan who was kindly able to refund me for the spots. The camp host found out and told me I owed them $260 to cover the parking because the spot we parked in was a double spot. I had just returned from driving the boat to Stockton and asked if I could pay the next day. They seemed okay with that but 30 min later they arrived with the Camp host manager Patti. She was extremely hostel and told me that if I didn't pay immediatley she would bring the SHERIFF!!. I was completely demoralizing to be treated this poorly given what I had been dealing with. They knew about the accident and that I was doing everything on my trip to save the boat. There are no signs at the dock warning about the rock in the middle of the lake. The boat damage is close to $100K so it was shocking to have someone scolding me about a parking ticket for spots that they said couldn't be rented. I have been coming to Sunset for 15 years and after this experience I never want to return again.
