We were traveling through the mountains in the rain and just decided to pull into this camground. Its a very nice campground with many sites. We paid a little extra for the electric hookup but it was still very reasonably priced. I took a peek into the bathrooms, they were also very large with 3 stalls and regular toilets (not vaults). We would definitely stay here again.

Early autumn is a good time for camping.

This campsite is a nice place to stay - usually - except during GOVT Shutdown there was NO administration of the rules, regs or oversight. It was a true free-for-all. Someone was IN our reserved spot and would not move. We finally reached a NP Ranger who tried to mediate the situation...when govt is shut down - there is NO ONE to help you.

Me and three friends camped here on 10/3. We arrived about 15 minutes before sunset (after an 11 hour drive), so we were on a mission to get tents set up and dinner going. The individual campsites are perfectly sized. The picnic tables and fire pits were well cared for. We had a light rain for about half the night, but the surface allowed for the water to drain so we didnt wake up to a muddy mess. Not many people around the first week of October, so it was perfect!

Excellent facilities and location. I recommend bringing fire wood for the night, as we could not find any at the campground location

Nice campsite with a great view of the lake. No real shade, which wasnt as much of an issue in the fall, but in the summer it would probably be pretty hot.

We were only passing through one night, but the location was beautiful, facilities were very clean (and stocked), and it was great camping experience.

We stayed in Loop D with electric hookups, the site was very clean including the bathroom (really really clean). Campground was quite and enjoyable. We had solid Verizon cell service the entire 4 day stay. Appreciate the dump station when leaving. Centrally located to the Black Canyon and Crested Butte areas.

The campground was very clean and well kept. The bathrooms were nice and clean as well. Our campsite was at the top of the hill so we had a great view of the entire campground and the reservoir. It was very close to Gunnison and Crested Butte. It's definitely a great campground for boating and fishing.

We have stayed in an electric site at Elk Creek multiple times over 14-years in a travel trailer, fifth wheel, and our current motorhome. It is our go-to stop when in the Gunnison area. We have always gotten an electric site even when just walking into the visitor center without a reservation, as we did last week. Colorado's largest lake, an adjacent marina, one of Colorado's best fishing lakes for brown and lake trout and kokanee, restrooms with flush toilets, and water and a dump available at the entrance--what's not to like?

Beautiful sunsets and rainbows. D loop was crowded because of having electric. Restrooms were spotless. There is road noise from Rte 50

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
