We camp at Chippewa NP Campground every Labor Day weekend. We love everything about. The sites are nicely shaded, although sometimes a bit difficult to back into with our travel trailer. It is a great place to bike. I like that there is a path between all of the different loops with bathrooms and pay showers stationed in each loop along the pathway. There is a nice retro playground for children, and adults. Lol I'm 58 and liked the slide and swings too. There's other amenities as well, beach, fishing pier, and sand volleyball, etc. It is a very quiet campground where other campers observe quiet hours automatically. We will definitely be back next year! Our site and our loop had electric. Some are rustic. There are 4 camp hosts throughout the campground. Flush toilets and showers are relatively clean; No complaints. Showers are $1 for 5 minutes. It takes tokens only with token machines at each location. Tokens can only be purchased in $1 and $5 increments. Cash only not quarters. Didn't see or feel many mosquitos! I love that! Online reservations were easy and sites were inexpensive.Things I would like to see but not a deal breaker: (Dry) firewood (and ice) within the campground. The fishing pier is not very old but needs TLC. I think an annual spray waterproofing is all that it would need. Bike stalls would be nice near beaches and pier. We have expensive e-bikes so would like that since we can't bring them on the trail. I know the NPS doesn,t have a lot of money and isn't near any cities; so I understand.I hope this review helps others. The sunsets here are beautiful!

We have been camped at Chippewa campground every year for 30 years. It has always been a good time. Even the times it rained everyday. As the years go by we have noticed a decline in fish and their size. That is the only disappointing thing about this campground.

Site was vey nice. Knowing where to get fire wood right away would have been nice. The beach was not in good shape. Fishing was good, seeing wild life was great. Enjoyed our stay. Will return

We had an excellent stay, the fishing was pretty good...caught and released several bass and northern. The campground host did an amazing job keeping the bathrooms clean. Overall a very nice vacation in the woods.

Heavily wooded, spacious sites and electric (we had 50amp). Very nice lake for fishing.

Overall we enjoy staying there very much, but the bathroom/shower area in the hardwood loop was not as clean as in the past. Also there was a lot of garbage along the ditches in all three loops

We had a pleasant stay here. Our Camp Host was very friendly and was willing to answer any questions we had.The site was able to fit my truck and boat without feeling cramped. However, the site is located on the bend of the loop so backing up with a boat/trailer/RV can be a hassle. We were able to set up and the site still felt spacious to hangout. This is one of the very few sites that we saw that had a grass patch for a tent. We didnt want to pitch a tent on bare gravel and dirt. Mosquitoes were consistent, but some citronella candles/torches and bug spray fixed it.No firewood is sold within the campground, however it wasnt hard to find it being sold along the roads leading into the campground. We saw prices ranging from $4-$6/bundle.Showers/bathrooms/water pump were a very, very quick walk so that was awesome. They were cleaned daily by the Camp Host when we were there. Shower tokens were pretty straight forward. It was $1 for 1 token. 1 token was equivalent to 5 minutes of shower time.Cell service wasnt terrible. Spotty in certain areas, but I have Verizon and was able to get a good, consistent 2 bars. My girlfriend has AT&T and was able to get the same.We fished the Lake for bass a few times during our stay, it was decent. One of the mornings, there was a 26 boat fishing tournament so there was a lot of boat traffic. Usually the boat traffic wasnt too bad. All the launches surrounding the lake ranged from $2-$5 launch fees. The best one I would recommend is the one by the Long Shot Bar. A very, very nice ramp and only had a $2 launch fee.Only real complaints would be,The beach between the Beaver and Bass Loop was visibly overgrown and not taken care of. Luckily, the other beach by the Hardwoods loop was the complete opposite.The ramp located within the campground was also sketchy and I didnt want to risk launching my boat there. Overall, I had a very nice experience here. I would definitely come back!

Amazing atmosphere, quiet, private campsites, showers, toilets, & running water. Breathtaking scenery. Come here yearly & it is always a blast. Definitely recommend. Hardly any service depending on carrier. 15 ish minutes away from Gilman WI, which has a store, gas, firewood, ice, ect.

The site is a typical national park site. The showers are a coin operated, $1.00 = 1 token= 5 minutes.

Absolutely love this campsite! Please keep the showers and bathrooms where they are. Making us walk a long distance will be an issue with all of our young grandkids.

Camped in early June after a lot of rain. It was VERY buggy. Tried to walk on the 4-wheeler trails, and had to turn around due to the bugs (even though we were soaked in DEET).
@DavidR6871281 · Camped on May 20, 2024 at Campsite #P43
It's a lovely area and the sites are large and private. Unfortunately, this spring, with so much rain there was standing water in some of the sites, and the mosquitoes were terrible. There was also a bumper crop of army worms dangling down from the trees and they got on everything, including us. As a result, we were unable to enjoy the outdoors for most of the week. But we had a fun time at the winery in Withee and spent some time looking around Medford. I highly recommend this campground in dry times, but check about the water and bugs before going so you are prepared.

Very nice campground for a reasonable price. We had electricity, which was nice. Witnessed a beautiful sunset over the lake! I think the showers should be free, not $1 for 5 minutes.

Sites are nice, having one with lake access is wonderful for taking out our canoe. This campground could easily be five stars if they simply cleaned the bathrooms. They were not cleaned during our Thursday-Sunday stay and were disgusting. There were cobwebs all over in the toilet stall and shower, floor was wet from a leaking toilet. We tried using one of the other restrooms but it was just as bad. No hand soap or paper towels/hand dryer available. The host site was messy/cluttered with outdoor storage and looked like a permanent residence.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
