Wonderful campground with large sites and privacy from other campers. Private docks on many sites, it was great letting the kids fish while relaxing around the fire. We were also able to launch our kayaks/canoe right from our site and paddle over to the beach. Very convenient. Can't wait to come back!

Clean site and facilities as usual. Disappointed with *very* loud music from other sites, multiple days and nights, well after quiet hours. Kudos to the ranger for intervening but they can't be there all the time. No site host this visit. Not typical of this site in our prior experience.

My grandkids had a great time catching sun fish and crappies. We fished off of the docks and didn't need to use the boat. However, we were dangling our feet in the water, off of the campsite dock and less than 15 minuets after we arrived, and a very large snapping turtle tried to get my toe. I may have kicked it in the mouth as he did not get clamped on, but my toe was bleeding and later bruised. I wasn't overly happy, but that is what happens when you are in the wild. The part that concerned me was when I talked with the ranger and showed him how lucky I was to still have my toe, his comment was "yeah, we have several large snappers in this lake".Maybe posting a sign to be careful and not put just toes or fingers in the water would be nice. I was able to convince my grandchildren that a turtle would not come up and bite them if they were in the swimming area as they were bigger and the turtle would be afraid of them.We will camp there again, but I do worry for the safety of people just hanging around off of their dock.

It was a beautiful campground, and we had a great time. The weather was gorgeous. The campsites are spacious, and we enjoyed being able to fish from the dock and the banks. We did bring the boat, but we launched it from the boat launch across the lake due to a tree being in the way of the boat launch at the campground. We are beginner campers, so it was a lot of laughs along the way as we tried to figure out how to wilderness. A lot of people had dogs with them, and everyone was SO respectful about keeping them in their site and/or on leash. It was refreshing to be able to bring our dog and not have to worry about other dogs being an issue. Overall, it was a great weekend, and we love to go back again next year. Some things to be aware of prior to going: -Staff are completely non-existent. We arrived to find our campsite occupied on our check in date because the staff had written the wrong arrival date on the reservation card. We were lucky enough to find a different site, but there is no one to call to get things sorted except Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-3. It was Saturday. Its very much a figure things out yourself kind of place, which is nice, but it would be nice to have someone to call for any major issues. -Firewood: They tell you no outside firewood is allowed in the National Forest, but there arent clear directions on what youre supposed to do for firewood. We just assumed that meant gather and cut your own and checked with a neighboring camper to make sure that was ok, but clearer directions would be good for us beginners.

Beautiful location! This is one of the best campgrounds ever when it comes to nature and beauty. My only complaints are with the dog owner who had the campsite before me. Unfortunately I stepped in dog crap and got said dog crap in my truck! Please pick up after your dogs. Also the Lodge says that it is open on its sign but it is not. Nobody opened the lodge and restaurant during its posted hours. We checked several times as did many other campers.

Such a beautiful campground! There's so much space in between each site and the animal life is very active. There's a lodge with showers available for $2 as well not that far away (driving).

Nice little campground with lots to see and explore. Bathrooms were clean and kept. Quiet area to relax and enjoy nature. AT&T cell service was nonexistent but can be picked up with a short drive out of the campground. The natural water spring shelter was nice and clean, and the water itself was cool and tasted great.

Great swim area, great for fishing and hiking. Great campsites. Only would say many dogs were unleashed which was concerning

Beautiful campground with no supervision. No host was there. Unknown to us, a large event was scheduled which ran generators next to our campsite The group covered up campsite numbers making it hard for anyone else to find their site. Too many vehicles per site.

Slightly disappointed with the new lodge update. None of the CCC history was replaced. Very friendly staff. The food is really good though (a little pricey for campers) and the update is beautiful. Really wish they sold ice for the campers.

Had a wonderful time, as always! Can't wait to plan the return trip and looking forward to seeing the newly renovated Mondeaux Damn when it's finally reopened. We got to meet the group running it while we were up there in June and they helped us out with some much-needed ice even before they were officially open - they were so nice and helpful! It was fun to talk 'past memories with them, too (our family has been going up there since the 1960's!).

We arrived on Thursday for Memorial Day weekend and did not see the campground host until Saturday. I feel that the host should be on site at least by Friday for a busy holiday weekend.

We enjoyed our visit to Spearhead Point! A nice site with water view and plenty of room and very quiet. Plenty to do: hike, bike, boat, fish, etc.

We always love staying at Spearhead Point. The one thing we noticed was that the camp host was gone through out our entire stay.

This was our third time camping at Spearhead. We went during the week and after Labor Day for less campers and that is what we had. Very peaceful, loved our campsite #8. We caught and released all the fish while using our canoe. The lake was again very peaceful.
The only part that we think should be addressed is the huge amount of algae and plant growth near most of the shoreline.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
