Waveland Park Campground in Yell County is located 1 hr 15 min east of Fort Smith, AR with an elevation of 437 feet. There are a total of 52 campsites. The campground is open all year. 51 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 18 and 70 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 51 sites have electric and water hookups. 1 site has electric hookups. Fees range from $18.00 to $40.00. Some amenities include shower, dump station, playground, boat ramp, swimming, amphitheater, flush toilets. Activities include boating, fishing, floating sports.
USACE is planning the drawdown in a partnership with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is expected to begin May 1, 2026, when the lake will be lowered to elevation 374. The lake is expected to reach this elevation by July 25, 2026, and will remain at this elevation until Nov. 1, 2026. The lake will gradually return to elevation 384, depending upon rainfall. During phase two of the drawdown, designated swimming areas within the parks will be closed. Boat access will be limited to a temporary ramp located at Ashley Creek Park. Water activities such as skiing, tubing and the use of personal watercraft will be prohibited. Boaters visiting the lake during this time are encouraged to use extreme caution due to shallow water and submerged hazards. Please work on the drive way to site 50. Make it to where everyone can get an rv in there without dragging the bottom out

The park is beautiful and clean. The bathrooms/showerhouses are spotless. The views of the water and pelicans are breathtaking and so relaxing.

Pull through sight was great. Sight is definitely not flat but also easily leveled(4 side ways and prob 6+ front to back.. Great view of water and only close to one camp sight 5 really. We enjoyed it. And easy walk to the shower house.

We stayed at site 3. Great view of the mountain and lake. Boat launch is down below but wasnt any bother. We stayed in a motorhome 27in long and fit with space to put our vehicle behind it. We walked in the morning to see the sunrise by the lake. The sunset was amazing as well. The bathroom facilities were clean and upkept. It was a shirt walk from our site. Overall this campground is quiet, clean, and beautiful! Our family will definitely be back and stay a little longer.

Very pretty and quite beautiful view of the lake nice bathrooms but not to fond of the pad for the camper spot I was in f5 I think and it was a night mare to back into and hard to level it . And we never did see signs that told us which section we were driving through. Lol think we drove through 3 times before we found it but it was also right at dark . But it is a nice place to camp with ur family. And there is nicer spots there just this one not so good, but it had a beautiful view of the lake. And I will camp there again just not in that spot.

Love this site it is very beautiful. A bit tricky to back into but once you get there its totally worth it! Quite campground and the Park Rangers came around often and were very nice.

I have been camping at Waveland park since I was a young child. Our family always enjoys our time together at the park. We feel fortunate to have a beautiful place so close to home.

I did not have any water at camp site but was given a refund for one night. The grass was very high, or I should say weeds. Bathrooms were clean Did see a few teens or young adults that was driving too fast. I get that is something you will have everywhere

I stayed on site 6 at Waveland. I enjoyed the site for it's privacy. It faces the sunsets looking westward, and although that is a benefit, it also gets the full strength of winds coming in from the west. If you are a tent camper like myself, beware of any incoming lines of storms.

Because of recent storms, the site we originally booked was under water and we had to be moved. The new site put us up on the hill and not ideal for a big rig. The road is narrow as are the sites and they are just barely long enough for a 35 motorhome, with little space left for a tow vehicle. In fact, we had to move our tow vehicle so the campers across from us could get into their site.The sites are on top of each other, with a few that youre practically sharing space with your neighbor. And as typical in most COE parks, there is no signage indicating what way you need to go to get to a specific site.The bathrooms however are very clean and kept clean on a regular basis.
