Joplin Campground is located in the Womble Ranger District, Ouachita National Forest (42 min west of Hot Springs, AR) with an elevation of 630 feet. There are a total of 58 campsites including 21 tent-only sites. The campground is normally open from the beginning of January to the end of October. 37 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 20 and 90 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. 20 sites have electric and water hookups. 38 sites have electric hookups. Fees range from $16.00 to $24.00. Some amenities include dump station, boat ramp, swimming. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, floating sports.

Nice view but site 13 and 14 are under a huge lamppost using daylight strength bulbs.The idea that I would need an eye mask to camp in the woods didnt cross my mind.Truly it was very difficult to sleep and at the very least the bulbs should be changed to a softer strength

We were at loop A site #6 at Joplin Campground. A beautiful site! But, we were lower than the other 3 sites on that peninsula and when it rained all day the third day there, the water pooled just below us and our rear stabilizers and unknowingly had ants come into our camper that we are still fighting here at home. When I told the park ranger on the last day there and the closing of the park weekend, she said yeah they knew about the ants and she recommended everyone to bring bug spray! We made a run to Hot Spring Walmart but the better treatment would be to put down some ant granules in the off season to see if you can get rid of them permanently out of the soil. I would love to come back but this has been quite an ordeal trying to get rid of them in the bathroom, in the refrigerator, in the food pantry in the closets and on the kitchen counter tops! We love your area but really.

Beautiful area! The campground was not very busy this time of year so plenty of sites to choose from right on the lake. Well maitained. The showerhouse was still open for use. There were many hiking trails within a short drive. We'd be happy to stay again

We enjoyed our stay there during October. A relatively quiet campground, but no campground host to keep facilities cleaned up. My biggest issue with our spot was the noise from the sewer/waste water area within the campground. Sounded like an industrial air compressor that would kick on and off and run for long periods of time. It was very annoying. In some areas of the campground it is less intrusive. I would come back to this place, but I would be more selective of my site knowing about that noise.

Great views and quiet area. Showers and bathroom were nearby in each loop, making it convenient for camping needs.

Access to lake was easy, close to Mount Ida for great ice cream. Shower area clean ,had good water pressure and hot water.

I like the primitive campground. I have been coming to #51 for 65 years. 5 generations of my family have camped at #51. The Joplin area is great.

Perfect setting for a weekend away! The lake was gorgeous. The bathroom/shower was clean had HOT water. Campsites are large!

Had to do a 2 reservation ....was only able to stay 1 day due to sickness, asked for refund for the 1 day I didn't stay, have yet to see the refund.I do not understand having to due a 2 day limit when over 2/3 of the park was empty.Restroom were filthy.

Everything was great. The park is clean, trash is picked up several times a day, and bathrooms were cleaned throughout the day every day. Great experience!

Beautiful spot. Bathrooms were clean. Wish the lake had been at its normal level.
