Grass needed to be cut

All was excellent except the cleaning crew for the bath rooms. They did clean them but left standing water from their pressure washer. I don't think they ever used a mop The floor was dangerous. I did complain to. a female ranger.

I was surprised at the reduced grass cutting that the USACE did in the campground. I agree not cutting the open field areas should remain uncut but the area down by the river, the areas around the camp sites and a larger area around the playground equipment should have been cut. I can only imagine how many of the young children as well as the adults out with their children felt having to address the chiggers from the high grass. Shame to those who man-dated the orders. On a better note, the newer of the shower facilities was open and repairs had been made to the damage done by humans using the facility. Thanks to the USACE Dam Quarry team for addressing the problem and getting the repairs done. Wish the condition of the grounds had been better.

The weather with pouring rain caused us to have to cancel our picnic on Memorial Day. We were unable to utilize the area after paying 50 dollars to reserve it. No bad weather cancellation policy.

Not so calm this week with the construction at the boat ramp from 7:30 am to 4:30pm! Would have been nice to have advance notice so we could have possibly changed facilities. Other than that, it was clean and well maintained as usual.

Our campsite was overrun with houseflies!! We literally killed 100s each day with a fly scatter while also hanging fly ribbons, which had to be replaced at least twice daily Never again!!!! We've been camping here for more than 25 years and never experienced anything like it.

the worst maintained corps campground we have ever camped at in our 20 years of camping. grass was 3 high, dead trees and limbs everywhere. Im a retired corps employee and i was ashamed!

We were surprised to see the grass so tall. Perhaps this may have caused the increase in ticks. We were also disappointed to see how many cars and boats parked on the grass. Also how many visitors were allowed at the sites. One evening the site next to us had about six cars parked on both sides of the road. This has always been one of our favorite places. Just sad.

On the Brightside our trip to Quarry was over all a good one. The countryside is beautiful and the people in the area are very friendly and hospitable. This campground is defiantly in need of maintenance. -The observation deck overlooking the Norfork River is a hazard with steps that were broken and wooden flooring that was rotting from water damage. Access to the river for fishing was very difficult because of the damaged stairs.-The grass in the campground had not been mowed for weeks. Grass and weeds were above our knees when walking or getting to the children's playground equipment. We noticed the National Fish Hatchery, which is on the opposite side of the road had been mowed, but not the campground areas. -Only one of the two shower facilities were open for use. This made it difficult to get showers or use restrooms when the campground was full on weekends.

A nice place to stay. The water was loud but we got used to it. Looked like a nice place to fish but we didnt get a chance.Things to do near by.

We loved our short visit to this campground. Many improvements since we last were in the area. Paved and level sites with water and electric. Very peaceful stay with lots of wildlife.

Restroom nearest our campsite was closed when the campground was nearly full with campers. Spots are super close - just like a parking lot.

Only one bathhouse was open and the campground was full. On top of that the bathhouse was filthy, smelled terrible and wasnt being cleaned regularly. The views were gorgeous and the kids loved fishing. If the bathhouses were accessible and clean it wouldve been a perfect score.

Campground was clean, the camp host Michelle was extremely helpful, the shower house is disgusting and in need of refurbishing.

Nice location but the shower house is awful and in need of renovations.
@GregM1251637 · Camped on Dec 31, 2024 at Campsite #34
Nice campground but the shower water temperature was way too cool to get completely wet in the not so warm shower room. I ended up in the handicap stall which had a handheld shower head which I use to wash my hair and face and my rear end without getting my whole body wet.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
