The campsite was well kept, the lake was great-kayaks were new, & it was an overall awesome experience for our family. You'll need your own soap for the bathrooms, and not all of the hand dryers worked, but they were fairly clean. Overall, a great campground!

We stayed at site 37 over Labor Day weekend and we were extremely happy with the overall maintenance of the campground. The restrooms, and the showers were kept clean. The camp hosts were very pleasant and made their rounds throughout the day. Decent spacing between each site and the noise level was contained well beyond what we expected for a holiday weekend. The site had level ground for our tent and a very large pull through driveway. We enjoyed walking our two dogs around the campground and saw PLENTY of elk on the far side of the lake. The bait shop is small but well stocked with last minute items. We will definitely be returning to Rainbow!

The drive to park is nice but the drop off is far need to fix ground so you can step off easier

When we arrived at Rainbow campground we were greeted by a very friendly lady at the check in booth. Unfortunately, we were immediately reprimanded by a man with a grey beard and glasses standing in the booth that "we better slow down and he knows we were going a lot faster than 10MPH". He continued to tell us in a very unfriendly manner that the speed limit in the park is always 10MPH. Coming into the park there are no posted speed limit signs. My husband was a truck driver for 50 years and he doesn't drive carelessly.The only speed limit sign is about 100 ft. past the check in booth. After this encounter my husband actually had to go faster than he normally does in order to maintain his speed at 10MPH, just so he wouldn't get in trouble again. The campground is beautiful and well maintained but that man should not work in a hospitality field.

Beautiful, well managed campground. Ice, widely spaced sites, clean showers with hot water and friendly, helpful staff.

I have been camping at Rainbow campground at Big Lake since I was a kid. It's a great campground with all the amenities, and the views are amazing! Plus, it's a great escape from the heat of Tucson.

The campsite was very clean. Loved the views. Very close to great hiking trails and Sunrise Ski Resort. Our only complaints are the cost of the showers, the woman's bathroom by the front had a broken sink, and the water in the campsite areas were off.

This campsite is excellent. The camp shop is well provisioned; the visitor center is informational and entertaining for kiddos; the bathrooms are well-maintained; the camp hosts are lovely and helpful. All in all a wonderful experience.

The bathroom near the shop was out of TP in both stalls - I was lucky to have a husband in the Men's room to get some for me and my daughter, however the other families there were not so lucky.

Stayed in #87, very beautiful campground and people at front entry very friendly. Enjoyed the nice little trail off of D loop with a geocache. Didn't like the $9 charge for showers, otherwise a great stay.

If you have dogs #55 is great! Back to the woods and lake campsites far enough away to keep the generators at a dull roar.

Friendly and accommodating on site staff.

I camped in space #1 and it is right next to the camp host. So if you dont want to camp next to your parents dont take that spot lol. Plus side, it was pretty close to the bathrooms and it had a good amount of afternoon shade.

Coming here to camp/fish every summer has been a family tradition for my husband's family for decades and will continue to be one for generations. Our kids love it and so do we. We'll be back next year!

Great sites in Rainbow, water was off and on near campsites, making getting it somwhat hard at times. Good news is that the water/toilets were back in operation after fires nearby. Staff was friendly as usual, with exception of parking passes for visitors/add on for groups. Let people get acclimated and unpacked prior to riding them about a pass. If they don't have one by end of day rounds, enforce things then. Fishing was good, although most were 9" -12" fish with even more stockers than that. Always a good time, showers are $9.00 now, and hot water as always is intermittent at best in several stalls. All told, worth the trip, the $$$, a little aggravation, that quickly goes away with being there in a pristine camping area.

Cool and quiet on Summer weekdays. Good water. Could use some pavement resurfacing and stabilization.

Beautiful campground! We had a great experience. Nice facilities available for bathroom and showers, although showers are a little pricey @ $9.00 per shower.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
