Rangers at the campground were very helpful and good to deal with. Our camping experience there was exceptionally good.

Very easy process, we got to the campground around 1pm and still had a handful of sites to choose from, and it was full by the time we came back for the night. It was very clean and quiet, although I didnt realize the bathrooms would be closed.

Unable to reserve my spot on recreation.gov (had to be there early am for 1st come 1st serve). Drove 7 hours to get there 1st night and it was full w no host after 7 or 8pm. Very tired had to drive another 2 hours through yellowstone to Cooke City to sleep in a very cold car because you can't sleep in the car in a national park. Very unhappy. Mammoth is busy enough to need to use reserve system through the fall. No service in the park, have to go back into reserve system to a pending reservation. With that in mind it needs to be on reserve system year round.

We had the most amazing time camping in Mammoth. We went mid October and the weather and scenery were absolutely stunning. We wanted time to decompress and just be in Gods complete beauty. We were not once disappointed.

The campground was open despite the shutdown. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We really appreciate that, despite the difficult circumstances, the employees are doing their best to show visitors this uniquely beautiful park.Unfortunately, on two occasions, other people were parked in our reserved campsite with their vehicles. Once, the rangers asked the people who were parked in the wrong place to leave, and once we had to ask the other people to leave the site, which led to a 15-minute discussion. Unfortunately, only one toilet facility was open, which is a bit tight with around 40 campsites, and there was no permanently installed washing-up station.The atmosphere was very peaceful, the campsite was very clean, and the other campers were also very friendly.

Location was great, until they reroute the entrance back to the original which will be probably 75' from the campsite.Equipment was fine.

Amazing stay at Mammoth Camp Ground! The spot was perfect and the facilities clean as always. Staff was very nice and friendly, as well. I love this campground and look forward to coming back soon.

Great campground, clean toilets and close to the hotel where you can purchase a shower on their site. Showers were clean and had good pressure with nice hot water. Had one day of sun, one day of rain and our last day had snow! Highly recommend early to mid October at the end of season to visit as much less crowds.

level but small sites in beautiful surroundings. A 1 mile walk up hill to the town (it's downhill all the way back!) Could hear the elk bulging in the evening. nice restrooms, no showers.

We only tent camped for one night, but we were able to hear the elk bugleing in the early hours. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Our view from our site was beautifully epic! The sounds of the elk passing thru during the night was amazing! Absolutely breathtaking campground! We will only camp there when we come back to the area!

Knowledgable, helpful, staff. Clean facilities and grounds. Amazing views. Friendly campers.About a 1 mile walk (uphill) to the Mammoth Hot Springs Dining Room. Selfishly, I should probably fib and say this campground is awful...

The site is close to Mammoth town, which is small and cozy. The bathrooms are heated, cleaner than most of the campground sites that Ive been to. The view is fantastic. Definitely will come back~~~

I love mammoth campground, would be 5 stars if it had been a dump station.
@JeanFranE06AE3 · Camped on Sep 30, 2025 at Campsite #39
Very nice place. We were very lucky, we had not booked and there was only one place left in all the campsites in the park. Only one thing.... No shower on the campsite. We have to go to the park hotel which is very far on foot and 5 minutes by car. For the rest of the water and toilets nearby. We had a nice night

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
