Campground was spacious and clean. Close enough to the pit toilets for easy access but far enough away to not smell anything. We did hear cars going by on the highway but the traffic was very light. The site was rather secluded on one side and overlooks the lower campsites and the river. Pit toilets were clean and well managed. Note that the water pump is on the lower campground so you have to go down and up a hill for water. Overall, a great experience and we will be booking this campsite again!

Beautiful lower campground sites all on the river. Stayed at site #17 which is small but perfect for my tent the other lower campground sites are much larger. Surrounding foliage provides excellent privacy. The bathrooms were clean and the garbage really didnt start stinking until Saturday when I left (#17 is right across from the bathroom and dumpster). Loved the sound of the river!

It is rediculous that people can reserve a campsite for days or weeks, not show up and prevent someone else from enjoying it. The reservation system for national forest campgrounds has gotten out of hand. You are forcing people to dispersed camping that is adding to the increased fire problem. If someone doesnt show up by 6pm the site should be available to someone else.

Clean campground. A bit close to the highway but the lower loop being by the river helps drown out the noise. Upper loop is likely loud. Campsites in the lower loop were far enough apart but there arent many trees between them for privacy. Great proximity to hikes.

Perfect spot camping by the river.

Be prepared with drinking water, wash ups & a lot of dirt. It is an absolutely beautiful campground, and due to its size, stays pretty quiet. I prefer the waterfront spots, they are awesome!

Great place to camp, especially the river sites.
@PaulineI926A84 · Camped on Jun 6, 2025 at Campsite #6
Nice shaded campground with easy access to the McKenzie River. A little road noise on the upper level, but not bad at all. Campsite was very private.

Nice spot with river access, you have visibility of site next to you, but its spacious.

The park itself is great. This review is for camp site 10. Camp site 10 and 9 share a driveway. If you have site 10, your drive way is right beside the table and fire pit for campsite 9. We fit a camper in site 10 and parked our truck a bit sideways to not block the driveway for site 9. Site 10's table and fire pit are about 40 feet from the end of the site's driveway. It is very odd. It would be fine if you rented both spots. Luckily, the people that reserved site 9 did not like the spot, so they did not camp there. But if they had, we would have been sleeping in our camper about 10 feet from their core campsite.

This is a magical campground. Only 17 spots with 5 right along the river. It's not a quiet lazy river or at least when I was there. It's an amazing powerful river - too strong I think for fishing and wading is out but the raw nature of it is beautiful. Even the upper campgrounds are peaceful, 150 foot trees everywhere and you can see the river from the upper campsites. Definitely a favorite.

Wonderful site on the river. Sound of river is loud and soothing.

The campsite were clean and well maintain. Though it rain a good portion of the time, we still enjoyed the camping there and plan to go back again.

Site 16 is absolutely awesome, incredible view of the river at your back of the campsite.

This was a great stop on our way back to Washington. We were in Site 16 which is right on the water in the lower loop. It was a great site for the three of us, but if I had a larger group I would pick Site 15 as it had much more space. The river was pretty loud as the spring thaw was starting but it didn't impact our ability to sleep. The upper loop sites are nice, but you will hear any vehicles that are traveling down the highway. Closest resources are the gas station 12 miles south or Sisters which is about 30 minutes north.

Beautiful campground right on the McKenzie. All the sites on the river loop are phenomenal but sites 15 & 16 are the gems.

This is a fantastic small campground with the lower sites right along the McKenzie. The bathrooms are primitive (vault toilets) but very clean. There is plenty of distance between sites and generous space within each site.

The campground has always been a favorite of mine. The location is beautiful. I had a great time. There were two problems that I noticed this time around that I had not noticed in the past. The bathroom on the upper loop was filthy and the odor made it impossible to use. The smell made it to the campsites. A lot of overflowing garbage was a problem as well. Otherwise, I had a nice time.

Amazingly beautiful location with easy access to hiking along the waterfall trail on the Mckinzie river. The bathrooms were pretty disgusting but since we are in fifth wheel is wasn't a big deal for us. There is a bit of road noise but not too bad.

Nice campground, close to Clear Lake and Sahalie Falls.
@DanielC8838163 · Camped on Jul 5, 2023 at Campsite #8
Pros: - close prox to sahalie, kosah and tamolitch falls- close to olallie creek-short drive to cougar reservoir and blue lake reservoir. cons:- no running water, campsites slightly close together- lower sites at risk of flooding- some sites not shaded from sun throughout day-never saw camp host and site was littered with trash when we arrived, granted it was right after 4th of July weekend. (plastic water bottles, toilet paper and eggshells in/around fire pit).Overall will not be returning to this site as there are plenty of better options in the area, mona/lookout/slide creek.

Lower loop sites are really amazing. The sounds of Olallie Creek and the McKenzie River are intoxicating. Upper loop is close to Hwy 126, traffic noise but really not bad. Upper loop has very nice pull throughs for RV's. Water from pump in lower loop is metallic tasting and off color. Hosts in June of 2023 were a great young couple, very attentive to the camp and the user experience.

BRING WATER! The hand pump requires muscle and brings up rusty water at best. No showers, cell service either. However, the river campsites are beautiful and spaced well apart. Solitude and sounds of rushing river water abound. Nearby hike to Blue Pool (3miles east- begins at Trail Bridge) is a delightful 4.5miles (RT) to see the incredible clear blue waters flowing into McKenzie River. Ollalie was a great place for a base camp to explore the McKenzie River valley.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
