from the time I arrived at the site until the time that I left, the staff was both courteous and professional and helpful in every way!

The bathrooms had absolutely zero smell and were very well kept up. The host cruised around and was very available in case we had questions sites were clean and it was an awesome location. Everyone at the site was respectful with quiet hours. We had a lovely time and will definitely visit again.

Multiple dogs off leash. Host didn't seem to notice. Other campers playing their music too loud.

Campsites are very close in proximity with little cover. But otherwise very very nice!

Our site was perfect for a family of five and had plenty of space for our tent, shade shelter, and had a picnic table and plenty of room. It was very clean and organized and close to Trails that lead straight out to the lake. We will definitely be back again.

Recreation.Gov really surprised me in a great way!My wife and I did a recon trip to Prospector Campground in Dillon, CO and located an available site suitable for our 35 for class a motorhome for the upcoming four day campy. I mistakenly had the app open for Lowry Campground which is located on the east side of the highway. Turns out both campgrounds had the same site number available. I called up recreation.gov and explained what happened. The associate was very accommodating and helped get the wrong reservation canceled with a full refund and booked us for the correct campgrounds including the site we wanted. Awesome campground, furthest site from the lake is less than a quarter mile easy hike. Very nice hosts, two were there at two different sites. Amazing color changes in the aspens surrounding the lake, gorgeous mountains, a full moon with a partial lunar eclipse, very quiet at all hours during the entire stay. We highly recommend this campground (Prospector).Our only complaint is the road from the highway to the campground entrance. Speed limit is 25 and it is very washboard ridden. I could not go above 8 mph without rattling the beegeezus out of our coach. I basically kept her right at 5 mph. Not a big deal but be forewarned if your rig doesn't like washboard. Maybe make the speed limit 10 mph like it is in most campgrounds, would cut down on washboard creation.

Love the site but this visit no water available. Host was not too attentive, he had asked us to meet him about obtaining a site and we waited three hours for him (he was napping). Bathroom was out of toilet paper quite often, sites were not as clean as on previous visits. We shall return as we love the campground but hopefully a new host that cares about the campground will be put in that position.

Great campground. in the heart of Summit County. No hookups, but dump and water station down the road at the Frisco Water Plant. Water spigots in the campground are labeled no RV fill up, so come in with full water tanks.

Nice big pull-through site, very close to restroom and a fresh-water spigot. Easy access to trails, beautiful views of Buffalo Mountain and the Ten Mile Range. Appreciate that the caretaker updates each site if there has been a cancellation. No highway noise!

Good option for price conscious folks in extremely expensive Summit County. Look, there's not much in the way of shade, but the views make up for it. It's nothing fancy, no showers or anything, but it does the job it does pretty well.

Nice campground with large sites. No electric, water or dump station. There is one at the bottom of the hill with potable water. Very quiet and lots of trees for shade. Site had a large cleared area with picnic table. Lots of hiking trails as well.

We were somewhat disappointed with Prospector. Beautiful area, however it was very dusty and noisy. The water was limited to filling jugs and we were unable to fill our water tanks. There was no dump station; we had to use the dump station down at the local municipality which charge $10. The map indicates that there was water next to our site (105) however that had been shut off. There were very few spickets throughout the campground. Would not recommend

Loud noises after midnight and nothing was done about it. Daughter's family left early because of it. Camp hosts were not friendly, didn't speak to anyone that we know of.

I have camped at Dillon Reservoir many times, this last weekend was the first time since the new management took over as camp host. I was treated to a loud party, a camper next to me playing his guitar and wailing until 1Am, and flashlights shinning into my tent. My camp site was dirty, and no sign of the camp host. Very disappointed, I will not return and if you are looking to enjoy peace and the outdoors, this is not a good spot. It's a shame because this use to be a wonderful place to camp.

Site was clean and had good proximity to water and restroom. Very quiet overall (we were there on a weekday though). Good cell service (Verizon). Couple ankle breaker holes at the picnic table could be filled in, but otherwise an overall solid experience.

This is a great campsite with an excellent view. The campground in general seems to be popular with people that use travel trailers, there is no electricity so be prepared to listen to generators at all hours. Generators should be against the rules at primitive campgrounds, stay home and watch tv there. People camp to have peace and quiet not listen to small gasoline engines!

I love this campground. The only concern I have is the surrounding forest. There is so much beetle kill around the Dillon area that it will some day go up in flames similar to the Paradise CA fire. There are few evacuation roads. The forest management needs to be addressed.

Nice basic campground with plenty of space between sites. No electricity, of course and when we were there, the water wasnt available either restrooms were basic but OK. Good location for access to Silverthorn and Dillon.

Weve camped at Prospector for many years and love the location to the lake. This year weve noticed a change in host management of the campground that hasnt been positive. We stayed several nights and never saw the host once. Also, RV next to us ran their generator most of the night and nothing was done about it by the host. We were in a truck camper and it was very loud. There were many people in tents camped right around them as well.

Campground were kept very clean including bathrooms. Its very close to both Dillon and Breckenridge Co. My only issue is that the trees are still small so its not high enough to give you shade when in a tent or that deep forest camping feel but still beautiful scenery everyday you look.

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
