Prospector Campground in Summit County is located 1 hr 15 min west of Lakewood, CO with an elevation of 9,194 feet. There are a total of 106 campsites. The campground is normally open from mid May to the beginning of October. Sites can accommodate RVs and trailers between 16 and 70 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $26.00 per night. Activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking trails, floating sports.

Open area, no shade, but that allowed for some mountain views. Long pull through site. No potable water was available at this campground, well may have run dry.

Even if sites was reserved and paid for others were camping in site and were not around , camp ground host did what he could short of towing other Camper, others in site had same issues,

Great campsite with surrounding views and lake access. Make sure to look at the site on Google maps to see the parking for the site. Some are wide some are long, but all sites were great.

Nice campspots that aren't too close together. Great location, works well for activities in Summit County like biking. Beautiful views.

We have been camping here for the last Three years and the road going into the campsite is atrocious. It can definitely damage your vehicle as well as the camper. We enjoy Prospector very much but the road has become a hazard and we are not sure if we will return. Also the campsite was without water during our stay and we were informed we could request a 20% discount for the inconvenience. We have not heard back after we made this request.

Such a beautiful campground! We last minute booked a site and ended up finding an amazing site in D loop. Easy access to water and clean bathrooms. The trail that goes along the lake is perfect for a daily hike. We will be back soon!

Campsite has beautiful views all around! Plenty of space and at least our site was spaced out enough to where we didnt even notice our neighbors. As others mentioned, there is basically no natural shade so bring a canopy of some sorts for shade during the hot months! We definitely plan to come back! Hopefully no stage 2 fire restrictions next time we visit!

Prospector is one of our favorite campgrounds! A group of 11 of us shared 101 & 103 as Im always unsure how many would fit well - 103 definitely would have fit all if comfortably + cars.

The good: Bathrooms were clean and stocked with TP all weekend. Great access to the lake! There's a clearly signed walking path that leads to the to the lake as well to another trail that goes along the shore, bikes allowed. The bad: site 89 is rocky and lacks privacy. We were able to find spots for our tents but the ground was bumpy and uneven. The gravel drive way easily fits two cars (we squeezed in 3) which was very nice. This site would be better suited for RVs.

RV sites are spacious and well-spaced away from other campsites. The views of the Gore mountain range are gorgeous!

We stayed at Prospector and the campground was nice and peaceful, conveniently located close to town but not crowded during the week. Our site had some trash leftover from the previous guests, but otherwise it was great.
